As a shopping and reviews editor, I've hands-on tested my fair share of products, including headphones and e-readers, but my bread and butter is beauty tech. I've been obsessed with skincare, makeup, and hair tools for most of my life. And yes, I even went through eyebrow blindness in 2016 — it's a rite of passage.

Whether I'm reviewing a product for work or just trying out a tool for my daily routine, I love to get my hands on beauty devices to see if they do what they promise (and are worth the money) or are overhyped. I've certainly come away with some favorites, some of which are on sale for Prime Day. I'm here to save you the trouble of poring through user reviews by telling you exactly which beauty products on sale are actually good deals and worth buying.

The TheraFace PRO is probably my favorite skincare device I've ever used, and it turned me into a TheraBody Beauty stan. I use it almost every day to wash my face, employing the facial cleansing attachment. And while I typically use the TheraFace Mask for my LED therapy now, the PRO is still my go-to for the microcurrent, massage, and hot and cold tools.

This is an investment with an MSRP of $399 and an additional $99 for the hot and cold rings, but if you live and breathe skincare, it's worth it. The battery lasts so long and it truly is an all-in-one device. I've even used it for non-beauty purposes when I have headaches and need a little temple massage.

Before there was TheraFace PRO, there was Solawave. It felt like every celeb was using the LED device during their pre-event routines. I was totally influenced to buy it when it went on sale for Black Friday a couple of years ago. Note that I own an older model than what Solawave is currently offering.

I love the Solawave device because it's small enough to be thrown in whatever bag, wherever you go. I don't travel with my TheraFace because I'm the queen of never checking a bag and shoving everything I can into a carry-on duffle bag. But the Solawave has such a slim profile, that I never mind making room for it.

I do prefer the TheraFace Mask for all-over LED light therapy, but I absolutely love my Solawave for targeting my under-eyes. It's also so lovely for a little massage between my eyebrows (an area that also happens to house some gnarly scowl lines that could benefit from red light therapy).

When the Dyson Airwrap came out, I thought no way in hell would I ever spend $600 on a hair tool. And I still stand by that. But credit where credit is due, Dyson created a dope ass product. Which is why I love the Shark FelxStyle so much: It's the perfect dupe.

My hair is short, just above my shoulders, so I can't create the gorgeous blowouts I see across TikTok, but the FlexStyle does still help me with cute, voluminous styles. It's also become my favorite hair dryer by a long shot. I love rough drying my hair without any attachments, then adding the round brush attachment to give my fine, pin-straight hair some lift.

The iPadOS 18 public beta dropped earlier this week, giving us a sneak peek into iPad's next big update ahead of iPadOS 18's official release later this year.

One of the most highly anticipated features of iPadOS 18, as evidenced by the "most replayed" portion of Apple's WWDC 2024 YouTube livestream, is Math Notes. Screen sharing is another eye-catching feature, allowing users to employ informal technical support methods with tech-confused loved ones.

To try these features, though, you'll have to install the iPadOS 18 public beta.

How to install iPadOS 18 public beta

Keep in mind that iPadOS 18 is still a bit rough around the edges. To protect your device, I highly suggest backing up your iPad. If you have an extra iPad lying around that supports iPadOS 18, I recommend you use that instead of running the public beta on your daily driver iPad.

Now that you're aware of the risks, let me show you how to install iPadOS 18 public beta.

• Go to Settings.

The tech deals during Prime Day can often bring great value. This year is certainly no exception. If you're in the market for a high-end portable speaker, then this deal on the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ (Series II) Bluetooth speaker could be for you.

It's going for $195 on Prime Day Wednesday, an all-time-low price. That represents a 41% discount, and $134 in savings, on its typical list price of $329. That's nothing to scoff at.

It's got all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a premium portable speaker, including water resistance, a 17-hour battery life, and great sound. Price is a typical complaint with Bose products, so now might just be the time to get the high-end speaker.

If you have an iPhone and you're in the market for an Apple Watch, one of the latest models is pretty steeply discounted for Amazon Prime Day.

For just $309.99, you can get the 45mm model of the Apple Watch Series 9, released last year. Our reviewer Stan Schroeder called it "a robust and elite wearable device – the best Apple has ever made," thanks to its strong suite of health-focused features and powerful hardware. Its display has double the peak brightness of the Series 8, making it much more suitable for use in bright sunlight, too.

So buy it and watch it once for every side of this intense love triangle. You'll be a better person for it.

This madcap series from the sidesplitting comedy troupe that brought us Horrible Histories is basically a workplace sitcom about a bunch of unhinged ghosts bound across ages to the same English estate. So, when a living couple comes in looking to renovate the grand house on the edge of ruin into a bustling bed-and-breakfast, there's a lot of paranormal activity, all of it absolutely hilarious. 

Forget the American version. The UK original is absolutely outstanding, featuring a superstitious cave man, a comically uptight World War II captain, a fussy Grey Lady from the Edwardian era, a bubbly Georgian noblewoman, a Stuart peasant who is still spooked from being burned as a witch, a pantless politician (who died in flagrante delicto), a hopelessly romantic poet/sex pest from the Regency age, and an indomitably chipper scout leader from the 1970s. Fish out of water in the modern age of their living roommates, they offer stories that are edged with dark humor, but radiant in physical comedy, gleeful absurdity, and keen observational humor. 

Over the years, Ghosts has become my go-to comfort watch, even as it bounced from Max to Paramount+ to nowhere. So, when I saw you can snag all five seasons at a discount (each is just $4.99 right now), you better believe I added them to my cart without a second thought.

Before there was Bridgerton, there was Jane Austen’s most beloved enemies-to-lovers novel. Keira Knightley stars as the spirited and sometimes sarcastic Lizzie Bennett, who first loathes then comes to love the socially chilly yet warm-hearted Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen pre-Succession). Their chemistry alone is intoxicating (and that bit with his tensed hand — swoon!). But this flushed and flirty Pride & Prejudice also boasts splendid performances from Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Jena Malone, and Donald Sutherland — as well as deliciously repulsive turns from Tom Hollander as the creepy Mr. Collins and Dame Judi Dench as his ruthlessly snobby patron, Lady Catherine de Bourg. Simply put, this 2005 hit is utterly timeless in its pleasures. 

And while I’d recommend buying it, you could alternatively take advantage of the Prime Day subscription deals, getting your first two months of Starz for just $0.99.

A new era of computing is upon us, and the HP OmniBook X is one of the new candidates for that revolution. We had the HP OmniBook X in for review very recently, and it got a glowing 4.5 score from our East Coast Tech Editor, Kimberly Gedeon. In the review, she called it the best Windows laptop she's reviewed this year, noting that the processor does, indeed, beat the M3 MacBooks. That's big praise and put together with the 16 hours of battery life on a single charge as our review reported, this laptop is easy to recommend, especially under $1,000.

The best Prime Day tablet deals are difficult to find among the deluge of discounts that are drowning shoppers at Amazon.

Instead of scratching your head over which tablet deal is worth it — and which ones are worth skipping — wouldn't it be nice to simply ask an expert, someone who knows tablets, to help you make sense of it all? As it turns out, you're in luck. I happen to review tech for a living, including laptops, phones, and, of course, tablets.

I know which tablets are worth grabbing (i.e., the iPad Pro), as well as the ones you should pass on (like the new iPad Air). That being said, here are the best Prime Day tablet deals. (While you're at it, check out our Prime Day tech deals hub, which was also curated by an expert.)

This list, curated by a tablet expert (i.e., yours truly), will contain a mix of both iPad and Android tablet deals. Based on my expertise, this list will only contain the best tablet deals.

11-inch iPad Pro (M4)

The latest, newest iPad Pro has dropped down to $919 on Amazon from its original price of $1,000.

Here are three reasons why I recommend the new iPad Pro, according to my testing:

• It's the thinnest Apple product ever, making it super light, ultra-portable, and travel-friendly

• The battery life, tested by Mashable, is out of this world

• Mind-blowing performance that beats some laptops

To dive deeper into these three points, Apple boasted that its latest iPad Pro is thinner than an iPod Nano. But when I actually got a chance to play with it, as I mentioned in my review, it was like holding the whispers of technology in my palms.

Next, the battery life is incredible. I ran a TikTok rundown on the 13-inch iPad Pro, and to my surprise, it lasted 16 hours and 24 minutes on a single charge. With the 11-inch iPad Pro sporting the same M4 chip, it should offer a similar runtime.

And finally, after running some benchmarks, the iPad Pro has incredible performance, so much so that it even beats some MacBooks and PCs. The only downside I noticed during my testing, however, is that the iPad Pro can run hot while running some intensive tasks (e.g., gaming). Plus, if you want to transform your iPad Pro into a laptop-like setup, I suggest upgrading to the 13-inch model and pairing it with Apple's Magic Keyboard.

$1,000.00 Save $81.00 This is the latest, newest iPad Pro from Apple Get Deal Lenovo Chromebook Duet

This one is an oldie, but a goodie — and it's just $189 at Amazon, as of this writing. Lenovo, by the way, is one of the most respected laptop vendors in the world as the mastermind behind the ThinkPad line.

I own a Chromebook Duet — and it's the one of the best budget tablets on the market, particularly if you often work with the Android ecosystem. Here's why I recommend the Chromebook Duet:

• It has a budget-friendly price tag of less than $200

• It has a battery runtime of about 9 to 10 hours

• Great for Google-focused workflows

The above selling points speak for themselves. The Chromebook Duet won't break the bank, and it delivers killer battery life. But keep in mind that it has ChromeOS built into its system, not Android, so this device is best for users with Google-focused workflows.

Get Deal Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+

If you're a casual artist, or you love to take notes, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE is my best recommendation for you. It's down to just $398 on Amazon for Prime Day from its original price of $600.

Here are the three reasons I suggest it:

• It ships with an S Pen

• Decent battery life (compared to similarly priced tablets)

• Sturdy, waterproof build

Many tablets out there support styli (yes, styli is the plural of stylus), but they don't ship with an actual pen. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE, on the other hand, does come with the S Pen included, so you don't have to worry about purchasing one separately. On top of that, it's one of the best Android tablets (perhaps next to its pricier Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra sibling).

According to our sister site PCMag (we share the same parent company, Ziff Davis), the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ lasted about 8 hours on a charge (which isn't half bad compared to similarly priced competitors). My only caution is that this is a mid-range tablet, so its performance is not built to support heavy graphics rendering. If you want a turbocharged Android tablet, I suggest getting the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra instead.

I highly suggest the OnePlus Pad, which is down to $369.99 for Prime Day from its original price of $480.

OnePlus is beginning to catch the attention of consumers who often only flock to Apple, Google, and Samsung for their mobile needs. After getting glowing reviews for its smartphone efforts, OnePlus is now getting praise for the OnePlus Pad. Here's why I recommend it:

• It has a striking, vibrant, 11.6-inch, 2800 x 2000-pixel screen

• Loud, booming speakers

• Decent battery life

According to our sister site PCMag, OnePlus lasted about 8 hours on a charge. That's certainly not as long as the 16-hour iPad Pro, but it should be able to last an 8-hour work or school day. It also has a slick Android skin, punchy audio, and a gorgeous display. One thing to consider, however, is that the OnePlus Pad may not be able to keep up with more intensive workflows.

The Samsung Galaxy A9+ Plus is another tablet I recommend, and it only costs $142.49 on Amazon for Prime Day (down from $220).

Here's why I suggest it:

• Budget-friendly, giving you a lot of bang for your buck

• Great software that facilitates productivity

• Punchy speakers

Despite being less than $150 at Amazon, the software on Galaxy A9+ is seamless for anyone who wants to get light work done on it. As PCMag pointed out, it sports some "productivity boosters," including a hideable taskbar, the ability to use multiple apps at once, and easy sharing of media between other Samsung devices.

If you own a Samsung phone, the Galaxy A9+ Plus is my recommendation if you're seeking a wallet-friendly, smooth-and-seamless Android tablet.

The Ninja Foodi XL Indoor Grill — which can also be used to air fry, dehydrate, roast, and more — is a useful kitchen tool on sale for $149.99 during Amazon's Prime Day. That's an all-time-low price and $110 in savings from its list price of $259.99.

I've tested a previous version of this grill, and used the newer version at a family member's home, and it's a great kitchen tool, especially for those who live in small spaces. It can get you a good sear and grill marks — it circulates heat like an air fryer — while limiting smoke output via its heavy-duty hood.

Ninja's Foodi line has long competed with Instant Pot, which has a cheaper option, but the Foodi XL grill is definitely a product worth considering, in my experience. And if you're in the market for a cooking gadget Ninja might be the choice for this Prime Day. Mashable has an updated list of the best Ninja deals, which are especially prevalent this Prime Day. Amazon Prime Day is as good a time as any to load up on health tech. If you've been looking for a wearable that can track your sleep metrics (among other things), the discounted Oura Ring Gen 3 might be right for you.

As one of the many deals available on Prime Day, Oura is selling its latest smart ring for between 15 and 19% off, depending on color. For instance, the silver model is 19% off, coming in at $282.69 rather than the list price of $349. On the other end of the price spectrum, the rose gold model is $444.69 after a 19% discount because it normally runs customers $549.

But every color is discounted to some extent, which is ideal for wearable shoppers because the very similar Samsung Galaxy Ring is right around the corner at $399. If you want to track your sleep and other health metrics without diving fully into the Samsung product ecosystem, now might be the time.

I have an Echo Show 10 set up in my living room and I love the thing. I use it daily for music and checking the weather (very high-tech, I know). When my mom came to visit me last year, she became enamored by the Amazon device. She thought it was so cool and would fit perfectly in her kitchen.

So, during Black Friday 2023, I took advantage of a steep discount and bought an Echo Show 10 for my mom for her December birthday. She has, on multiple occasions, told me about a new feature she discovered or that she uploaded her photos to the device to cycle through during our regular phone calls.

Just this morning, she called me to ask me 1) what the device is called, and 2) if it's on sale for Prime Day. She has some friends visiting her for the week and apparently one of them is interested in an Echo Show 10 for herself.

Unfortunately, the 2024 Prime Day deal is not as great as the 2023 Black Friday deal — $50 off this year versus $90 off last year. However, my mom and I both swear by the device and would still recommend buying at the current Prime Day discount.

As one of Mashable's senior shopping reporters, I vet thousands of laptop deals on a very regular basis. This means I'm always hoarse from hollering about how Amazon is the worst place to find them.

Shoppers can be easily misled by the retail giant's myriad incorrect sticker prices, and its selection of laptop brands pales in comparison to that of other retailers (particularly Best Buy); the only models it reliably stocks and discounts year-round are newer Apple MacBooks. Outside of that category, a good chunk of the laptops I encounter on Amazon (too many) are sold by sketchy third-party sellers instead of Amazon itself. Generally speaking, the laptop deals there just aren't worth most people's time — or mine, frankly.

I sing a different tune on Prime Day, though. Once Amazon's flagship summer sale starts (and not a moment sooner), it conveniently decides to list a wider array of legitimately good deals on laptops that it personally ships and sells — that I'm more likely to recommend. Why doesn't it do this year-round? Good question! Regardless, Amazon and I have a peace treaty of sorts for those blissful 48 hours.

A peace treaty... but not an exclusivity agreement. Having scoped out some of the best laptop deals available during Prime Day 2024 (live through Wednesday, July 17), I can tell you that Amazon has some good options for those looking for Apple MacBooks, LG grams, and gaming laptops from Acer and Asus. But I'd also still encourage you to branch out to Best Buy: Its Black Friday in July savings event has shaped up to be some serious Prime Day competition, and smart shoppers would be remiss not to cross-check both sales.

If you don't want to wade through their dueling discounts yourself, I've highlighted three of the very best laptop deals I would snap up in a heartbeat if I was in the market for a new machine.

Seriously, though, this is an unprecedented record-low for Apple's latest 13-inch MacBook Air, a Mashable Choice Award-winner (and our current favorite MacBook for most people) that has a peppy CPU, WiFi 6E support, and the closed-lid ability to drive two external monitors at once. For only $50 more, I'd strongly consider buying the M3 Air if you're looking to upgrade from an older MacBook. The OmniBook X is one of the all-new CoPilot+ PCs powered by a snazzy Snapdragon X Elite chip, and this is the first time I've caught it on sale since it launched in mid-June. The nominees for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced July 17, and by the looks of it, the drama and comedy categories are FX's to lose.

Both FX's Shōgun and The Bear dominated in their respective categories, with Shōgun picking up 25 nominations and The Bear picking up 23. As the Emmy eligibility period runs from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, these nominations are for The Bear's second season, as opposed to its more recent (and more underwhelming) third season.

Spotify's AI DJ is launching in Spanish as an entirely different persona: Livi.

The music giant's AI DJ — which uses a combination of personalization technology, generative AI, and an AI voice — serves up customized recommendations to listeners in a conversational tone. It first came to Premium English-speaking users in early 2023. This announcement comes after Spotify raised its prices in the U.S. twice in the past year.

The English persona, DJ X, is named after Xavier Jernigan, head of cultural partnerships and host at Spotify, who provided his voice for the AI to model. He worked with the team to make the vocabulary and speech patterns as accurate as possible. And the music service is keeping up the DJ authenticity. Instead of translating his voice into Spanish, Spotify opted to use another employee as a model for the Spanish DJ.

Senior Music Editor at Spotify in Mexico City, Olivia Quiroz Roa, is the model for DJ Livi. According to a press release, she was chosen after "an extensive international casting call" because her voice "resonated the most with listeners," they praised her "relatability."

DJ Livi will be available for Premium users in markets where the AI DJ is currently available, and will be expanded to select markets in Latin America and Spain.

Standout features include 2,300 lumens brightness and 4K resolution with Dolby Vision. These features are rare in home projectors, and those that have it typically cost way more than this one. I had the pleasure of reviewing the XGIMI Horizon Ultra last year, and it has become an integral part of my home theater setup. The in-built Harman Kardonn speakers are a delight, with adequately sharp but booming audio that doesn't sound like it's coming from the projector at all. On top of that, this is easily the least boring-looking projector I've seen, which is crucial for those who care about not having an ugly cuboid in the middle of their living space.

Additionally, the picture quality is excellent, with ample brightness and contrast, and the Dolby Vision support means I never got a drowned-out image. At this discounted price, the XGIMI Horizon Ultra is an easy recommendation. The only issue I had with the projector was the low amount of RAM, which led to a laggy experience on the built-in Google TV experience. However, updates have countered this flaw quite a bit. Additionally, it supports HDMI 2.0 input, so you can hook it up to any device of your choice, and the lag won't be a factor.

Gaming is one of the most fun and rewarding hobbies that you can pick up. I should know — I've basically had a controller in my hand since I was a small child.

But, gaming has a notoriously intimidating barrier to entry. Not only is there so much to catch up on if you're looking to experience some of the older, iconic games of the past in addition to the current zeitgeist, but getting into gaming also comes along with a potentially eye-popping price of admission considering all the gear you'll need to buy to get started. That's not even mentioning that you'll need to develop the skills to "get good," so that you can actually finish these games.

I don't have the ability to turn you into a skilled gamer right from the jump, but the least I can do is help you out with curbing that initial sticker shock. Especially during Prime Day, where you'll find a ton of gaming essentials on sale.

Not only is it super budget-friendly, but it can also run all those fancy new games you'll want to start crossing off your backlog with ease, and you'll have the ability to take advantage of Xbox Game Pass. That's the true star of the show here — new gamers will get a lot out of Game Pass, as they'll have access to a gigantic library of games to play without having to buy each one individually. You can just go nuts and download everything in sight. How can you beat that?

If you have an Xbox, I think it's a necessity for you to pair it with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. I already mentioned it briefly above, but Game Pass is basically just a massive library of classic and current game titles that you can download and play at your leisure, rather than having to buy each one individually. That includes Xbox-exclusive games on release day at no extra charge. It's like Netflix, but for video games. I've been subscribed for years, and can't imagine myself leaving anytime soon.

You'll also be able to play online with friends (a must), make use of cloud gaming features, and get member-exclusive deals and discounts in the Microsoft storefront. It's not the wildest amount of savings, but we'll take it: Xbox Game Pass Ultimate one-month memberships are $2 off for Prime Day.

You'll already get a controller with your Xbox console when you buy one, but I find that it's always a good idea to have another one on hand. This serves a dual purpose: You can either use the second one for when you have a buddy over and want to play some local multiplayer, or just use it as a backup when your main controller dies and you don't want to wait for it to charge.

Now, you could go with another basic Xbox Core controller, but I say go bigger and snag an Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller. It's just better in every way. The build quality is more premium, it can store custom button map profiles, has a 40-hour battery life, and comes with the ability to customize your controller layout. That includes various detachable back paddles and D-pads, adjustable triggers, and more. Once I went Elite, I never went back. It's a splurge purchase for sure, but you'll be thankful you got one in the long run. During Prime Day, you can get one for a cool $30 off the original price.

If you want a decently impressive 4K TV that won't break the bank and is easy to operate, you can't go wrong with a TCL Roku TV. I've had one in my living room for years, and just recently purchased a smaller one for my bedroom because I loved it so much. The 4K resolution and picture quality you get at this price is just wild, and with the addition of HDR and an intuitive UI, it's really a match made in heaven for any gaming console.

While you could probably go bigger, I think this 43-inch model is one of the best gaming TV deals you're going to find this Prime Day. Just $219.99 is an absolute steal.

Whether you're hanging out in multiplayer chat or trying to up the immersion factor in your favorite horror game, having a solid gaming headset is going to pay dividends along your gaming journey. My personal favorite model of headset is the Razer BlackShark line (I reviewed the V2 Pro model and loved it), and the budget-level V2 X model is on sale for just $34.99 during Prime Day. The Razer BlackShark headsets are some of the most comfortable headsets I've ever tried, but besides that, they also come packed with amazing audio features like passive noise-cancellation, 7.1 surround sound, and high-end 50mm drivers. You'll also get Razer's patented HyperClear cardioid mic, which sounds crystal clear. I can confidently say you'll never need or want another gaming headset (unless you want to upgrade to an even nicer BlackShark model in the future).

You can treat this one as a bonus option, but I think it's important for any serious gaming hobbyist to have some sort of handheld console, and it doesn't get much better than a Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch OLED is undoubtedly the best Switch there is, and the Mario Red edition is a few dollars off the original price during Amazon's Prime Day sale ($8.93 to be exact). You'll get the best display, speakers, processing power, battery life, and storage space that the Switch lineage has to offer, so going for this model if you don't already have one is a no-brainer in my opinion. Now, go play Tears of the Kingdom.

Amazon Prime Day is here. There are metaphorically (and maybe literally, if you look hard enough) tons of deals to sift through. But if you like video games and college football, you won't find one better than this.

Put simply, if you put both a PlayStation 5 Slim console and EA Sports College Football 25 in your cart for Prime Day, you should get $30 off the PS5. This is according to both Amazon and @Wario64, one of the most reliable sources for gaming deals on the internet.
