Amazon loves to keep things in the family on Prime Day: Discounts on its in-house lines of gadgets are plentiful and steep during the retail giant's annual members-only sale. This is especially true for its Alexa-enabled Echo smart home devices and wearables, which frequently enjoy Prime Day deals exceeding the half-off mark. New year-round lows are not uncommon.

With Prime Day 2024 now live through Wednesday, July 17, Amazon is in peak form. The just-announced Echo Spot smart alarm clock is on sale for the first time with Prime, while all styles of the third-generation Echo Frames are sitting at all-time low prices (again, only for Prime members). One of them comes with a free Echo Pop, too.

Most notably, the second-gen Echo Buds with Active Noise Cancellation have hit a new record-low of $34.99 for Team Prime — a 71% discount on their usual retail price of $119.99. Amazon is advertising other (smaller) Prime Day device discounts across its site, but shoppers can go ahead and ignore those, apparently.

Bundles featuring Echo smart speakers and Echo Show smart displays are also up for grabs, though most of the devices themselves have yet to hit their cheapest price points. You may want to hold off on adding those to your shopping cart in case they dip further as Prime Day progresses.

Amazon Prime Day can surely be counted as one of the best times of year to buy a TV, depending on the type of TV you're in the market for. If that's a budget-friendly QLED model or Fire TV, the retail giant's big summer sale is a can't-miss affair.

Amazon Prime Day is officially here. While there were plenty of early deals, we've been waiting for Prime Day proper to see the deals on Amazon devices — Kindles especially. However, now that the deals are here, they're...okay. Don't get us wrong, the deals are good, but we have seen better — especially on other tablets right now. You can find all discounts marked down, but none are at their lowest price ever. However, if you're itching for an e-reader, a Kindle is still the best.

As much as we love the feel of physical books, a Kindle just makes more sense nowadays, especially if you like to read on the go, read between books before you finish them, or have a back-up book on deck. If you're going through books too quickly, an e-reader that can store hundreds of books, while being easy on your eyes and not needing to be plugged in all the time might be the ideal option for you.

There hasn't been a new Kindle model since the 2022 entry-level Amazon Kindle refresh, so we'd love to expect greater discounts than ever before. However, we saw the lowest price ever on the Kindle Paperwhite last Prime Day, and then smaller discounts for Amazon's October Prime Day and Black Friday. We didn't expect to see record-low prices this summer, at least not on the Kindle Paperwhite, and that's what the deals reflect. The retail giant's big event is always a perfect time to pick up a new laptop, especially if you're looking for a MacBook (or any other Apple devices, for that matter). While the M2 MacBook Air is a great laptop, the M3 MacBook Air takes things to new heights. It has a 20% faster chip, upgraded WiFi 6E support, and the ability to support up to two 5K, 60Hz external displays at the same time (with the lid closed). From an outside perspective, it "may seem like a simple refresh," Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon writes in her review, "but as someone who owns the M2 MacBook Air, I’d definitely trade it in for the new-generation model."

The base model (8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) has dropped to a record-low $849 for Prime Day with the help of an on-page coupon. That makes it a 23% price drop. On any given day, Amazon's best laptop deals include some markdowns on Apple MacBooks... and not much else. The retail giant lists a lot of older and/or discontinued PCs that aren't super worth it. Amazon also has a penchant for inflating sticker prices, making discounts look steeper than they really are.

Those factors, combined with the heavy presence of sketchy third-party sellers among Amazon's laptop listings, make it one of the worst places to buy a laptop on the internet (again, unless you're shopping for MacBooks). We usually recommend shopping at Best Buy or going directly to the manufacturer's online store instead.

The fine print here is that Amazon usually gets its act together for major savings events, including its flagship Prime Day sale (set for July 16 and 17). When such sales are live, it's way easier to find heftier discounts on new laptops shipped and sold by Amazon itself — though it still behooves savvy shoppers to cross-check prices elsewhere, just in case.

After a couple of weeks of lousy early Prime Day laptop deals from Amazon, those hefty discounts have finally appeared on the first day of its sale. (Best Buy's Black Friday in July sale might've been the motivation it needed.) Amazon's usual selection of MacBook Airs and Pros have all hit record-low prices, while a handful of clamshell and 2-in-1 LG gram laptops are $300 to $500 off for the Windows crew. For shoppers in search of a budget gaming laptop, a range of PCs from Acer and Asus are on sale for $500 to $1,200.

Twelve-hundred bucks is also the exact amount of the highest Prime Day laptop discount I've spotted so far: A Razer Blade 15 from last year is marked down from $2,799.99 to $1,599.99 for Prime members. It comes with a free copy of Black Myth: Wukong, too.

Prime Day starts today, July 16, and runs through the 17, but plenty of Apple deals, some of the best we've ever seen, went live days before the big event.

One big reason is that Walmart kicked off its Walmart Deals sale last week, bringing down the prices on the M1 MacBook and AirPods. With Prime Day now here, these could be the best prices on Apple products, but we're still watching and waiting.

Is this tablet a couple of years old? Yes. Is that why it's getting this $200 markdown? Probably! We first saw the iPad Air drop to this price at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago, and though it's shot back up at the retailer, the Walmart Deals sale has brought it back down. An M1-powered tablet is hardly past its prime, still offering plenty of power for gaming and note-taking. While we do wish this iPad offered a little more storage space, at this sale price you're paying just under $70 more than you would for a discounted A14 Bionic chip-powered iPad with the same amount of storage.

What better way to enjoy the exceptional display brightness of the Series 9 than with the largest display you can possibly get? Mashable Senior Editor Stan Schroeder appreciated that this watch introduced Double Tap but wrote in his review that the 2000 nit max brightness and minimum of one nit make this watch incredibly functional to use in the middle of a sunny day, or in the darkness of your room in the early morning. Apple Watches haven't introduced a ton of exciting upgrades over the years, but we do like that with this sale price, you can grab the 45mm Series 9 for about $70 cheaper than you would the 41mm Series 9 at full price.
