"Plus, you’ll have the option to reserve rides for upcoming trips. Just tap 'where to?' and select 'search in a different city' to get started."
Uber also introduced other features that might pique the interest of those lucky enough to be in Paris this summer. Flying Blue gives users points with Air France-KLM Group if they use Uber in France and the Netherlands; Uber Bubbles, a champagne tour bookable through the Uber app, has more open reservations; and Uber Cruise allows people to book a private cruise on the river Seine.
"With Summer in full swing, and a record number of Americans taking to the skies for their long awaited vacations, these updates are meant to help customers more easily plan for – and save on – their summer travels to Paris and beyond," the company said in a press release.
The new feature will start rolling out on July 16.
Your iPhone has the ability to play "white noise" audio with built-in sounds that can be accessed via the Accessibility settings. You can choose between sounds like Ocean, Rain, and Stream. (Rain is my personal favorite.)
However, with iOS 18 (which you can now test via the iOS 18 public beta), Apple added two new sounds to the library.

"Night" features chirping crickets with the subtle rustle of leaves. "Fire" appears to mimic the harmonious crackle of a fireplace.
These sounds are not specifically designed to be for sleep, but we have previously recommended the feature to help iPhone users catch some Zs.
You can access the new sounds by navigating to Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visual > Background Sounds. Next, ensure that "Background Sounds" is toggled on before tapping "Sound," which will lead you to the list of available sounds, including Balanced Noise, Bright Noise, Dark Noise, Ocean, Rain, and Stream.
If you plan on downloading the iOS 18 public beta, keep in mind that it's still rough-around-the-edges and not ready for primetime. Consider backing up your iPhone first or running it on a test device.
The next big iPhone update, iOS 18, is expected to launch alongside Apple's next-generation smartphone, likely the iPhone 16.

According to multiple Apple analysts and leakers, a rose iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max is coming in September when Apple's new smartphone line launches.
This would mark the first time that a Pro model iPhone was offered in pink since the iPhone 6 line was launched with a "rose gold" color in 2015.

The supply chain leaker, known as OvO Baby Sauce OvO, says that the new color option for the iPhone 16 Pro is called "rose." The leaker also emphasized that it's not the same as the previous "rose gold" option.
This same leaker also previously claimed that the Blue Titanium-colored iPhone Pro models will likely be dropped from the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup to make room for the rose model.
According to MacRumors, this latest leak backs up a previous report from well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who said that both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would be available in "black, white or silver, gray or 'Natural Titanium,' and rose."
With Apple launching a newly designed titanium device with the iPhone 15 Pro last year, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro will be the first titanium "rose" colored iPhone.
Currently, consumers who want a pink-colored iPhone must settle for the base model iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Plus, which offer a light-pink finish.
Now, it seems that Apple fans who want the most premium model iPhone with all the pro features and a pink chassis will finally get their wish.

Granted, because this is Apple we're talking about, that's still a pretty hefty price tag for a monitor. The Apple Studio Display features a 27-inch 5K Retina screen with 600 nits of brightness and support for 1 billion colors.
The Apple Studio Display performs well but is mostly geared toward Apple loyalists due to its pricing, according to a review from PCMag, which is owned by Mashable's publisher, Ziff Davis. With the price now discounted for Prime Day, perhaps it's worth revisiting a purchase for those in the market for a premium monitor.
A hacker group called "NullBulge" claims to have stolen over 1TB of data from Disney's internal Slack channels. As first reported by The Wall Street Journal, the hackers allegedly leaked messages and files from nearly 10,000 channels, including info on proprietary code, unreleased media projects, and more sensitive data.

The group claims to have accessed Disney files with the help of an employee. The massive trove of files was first spotted in BreachForums on Thursday before swiftly being taken down — however, the leak still exists on mirror sites across the internet.
At the time of writing, it is unclear what exactly is in the leak's contents. According to the WSJ, who viewed some of the files, some of the leaks pertained to internal conversations about software development and website maintenance. Additionally, the WSJ saw discussions of potential hires along with unrelated topics, like images of employee dogs. The data goes as far back as 2019.
In a statement to several outlets, a spokesperson for the media conglomerate said that the company was "investigating the matter."
On top of the information taken from Disney's Slack channels, it seems that the hacker group also doxxed a Disney employee who allegedly cooperated with them and enabled the leak — including personal identifying details, medical records, and even employee access passwords. This was apparently in retaliation for cutting off communication with the group.

However, the good news for Disney is that this hack doesn't seem to be on the level of the 2014 Sony Pictures hack which shut the company down for days, caused a movie to be pulled from theaters, and resulted in co-CEO Amy Pascal stepping down.
With all the money Disney has invested in Marvel, Hulu, and ESPN, it may merit a sigh of relief that the hack is, at the time of writing, basically just mundane coding discussions and pictures of cute dogs.
TikTok has doubled down on ticketing directly on the platform with a partnership with Eventbrite.
Now creators can link an Eventbrite event in their videos and users can purchase tickets to the event without ever leaving TikTok. The link will appear above a video's caption.

It streamlines the process of event promotion removing the "link in bio" middle man.
"We're giving creators a simple way to jump into trending conversations and bring online communities together in real life through events they’re passionate about," Ted Dworkin, chief product officer at Eventbrite, said in a press release. "With this partnership, millions of people can now easily discover and attend the best events in their cities, right from where the conversation is happening – on TikTok."
TikTok first entered the ticketing space through a partnership with Ticketmaster that first launched in the U.S. in 2022. In Dec. 2023 it rolled out to more markets including the UK, Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, and Mexico.
The partnership furthers TikTok's use as a search engine as users will be able to search for videos about Eventbrite events. But it ultimately serves to keep users on TikTok for as long as possible. The social media platform only allows very few things to be directly linked in a video including Ticketmaster tickets, TikTok Shop products, Buzzfeed Quizzes, Rotten Tomatoes, and Whisk. It still neglects to allow for articles to be linked, which could an opportunity for spreading rampant misinformation.
SAVE $15: Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite is on sale for Prime Day for $134.99, a 10% drop-off from the full price of $149.99. That $15 drop pales in comparison to last year's Prime Day sale, which saw the same device go for $55 off.

That's definitely true of the 2021 Kindle Paperwhite, though again, it's not a massive price cut. Still, there's value here; the Paperwhite offers a bigger and brighter display than the default Kindle, as well as four additional weeks of battery life on a full charge. Not hours or days, weeks.
As far as e-readers go, it's one of the best and most popular for a reason. The Kindle Paperwhitehosts 16GB of onboard storage, but there are other Kindles you can buy with more storage if you need it.
But if all you want to do is read books with one of the best Kindle displays Amazon makes, the Kindle Paperwhite might be the way to go.
On Monday, the FBI issued a press statement revealing that it gained access to the password-protected phone of Thomas Matthew Crook, the shooter behind an assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump at the July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
However, breaking into Crook's phone didn't come without challenges. According to the New York Times, as of Sunday, the FBI had trouble breaking into his device, prompting the law enforcement agency to send the phone to the bureau's lab in Quantico, Virginia.
Two days later, the FBI cracked the phone.
What did the FBI find on the cracked phone?Lab technicians at Quantico sifted through Crook's texts, emails, and other digital footprints, but according to the New York Times, they "did not immediately find clear evidence of a potential motive." The FBI's specialists, the publisher reports, also couldn't find any new details about the gunman's "possible connections to other people."

The FBI isn't just analyzing his phone, but all of his electronic devices. The law enforcement agency is also looking into Crook's social media activity and browser history.
It's unclear which phone Crook had in his possession when the FBI obtained it. Plus, how the Quantico technicians bypassed Crook's password-protected phone is nebulous, too.
According to The Verge, which cited a security researcher named Cooper Quintin, law enforcement agencies typically use Cellebrite, a mobile device extraction tool, to break into locked phones. Quintin speculated that the field office in Pennsylvania likely didn't have the advanced phone-cracking tool needed to hack Crook's device, so they sent it to Quantico.
Again, we don't know which phone Crook had, but if it was an iPhone, the FBI would have to rely on its own resources to crack the device. As The Verge pointed out, in the past, Apple has pushed back on the FBI's requests to bypass security protections. In 2015, for example, Apple refused to help the bureau break into the iPhone of the San Bernadino shooter. In the end, the FBI had to enlist the help of an Australian security firm to unlock the shooter's phone.
Mashable reached out to the law enforcement agency for comment; we will update this article once we get a response.

The Bye Acne device is regularly $69, but on day one of Prime Day, it's down to just $39.99. That's 42% in savings. We saw it drop down 50% during the holiday season, but this is definitely the best SolaWave deal we've seen since. Of course, like most Prime Day deals, you'll have to be a Prime member to snag it. Plus, as a Lightning deal, there's a limited supply of these babies at Amazon. So, if you want to ensure you get the best price, grab it ASAP.
It's not our favorite of SolaWave's offerings (that honor would go to the celeb-favorite skincare wand), but it still has its place in a beauty routine. It uses the power of light therapy to deliver pain-free acne treatment. When Mashable's Bethany Allard tested it out, she found that it would likely work best "for someone who gets a nasty pimple or two regularly and has the cash to spare." Apple's stylish, over-ear headphones are super popular, though perhaps not the first choice for strict audiophiles. Still, for most users, it's a good option — if you can afford it. Mashable's review of the headphones read: "When it comes down to it, the AirPods Max check off almost all the boxes for what makes an excellent pair of headphones: great sound quality, ideal battery life, easy controls, and a stylish design."
