Do you think Live Photos on your iPhone are all fun and games? I did, until a particularly mortifying episode of The Other Two — a delightful comedy created by former Saturday Night Live head writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider — made me completely reevaluate the feature.
For those unfamiliar with the way the Live Photo effect works, when the iOS feature is enabled on your iPhone or iPad, it will record what happens 1.5 seconds before and after you take a photo. When you go to look back at a Live Photo, a normal still image will appear, but if you push down on the photo, the extra recorded movement and sound that was captured will play like a mini video clip.

You can edit, add effects, and share Live Photos. You can save Live Photos as videos, too.
Live Photos are great for capturing brief but sentimental audio and video clips of people or scenes you want to look back on in the future. But as The Other Two's Season 2 episode "Chase and Pat Are Killing It" proves, the feature isn't ideal for every scenario.
Tweet may have been deletedThe episode follows an unfortunate Live Photo mishap of actor Cary Dubek (Drew Tarver). Essentially, a man who matched with Cary on a dating app asked him for a "hole pic" (a picture of his butthole). Cary, about to take off on a flight from New York to Los Angeles, made his way to the airplane bathroom, snapped a hole pic, sent it off to the stranger, and then proceeded to enjoy his flight.
By the time he landed, his hole had made headlines. How? Well, the initial recipient showed Cary's nude to a friend, and that friend realized it was a Live Photo. When they played the Live Photo, Cary's face appeared at the beginning. The two forwarded the Live Photo around, and before the plane touched down, it had become a hole — er, a whole deal.
At the time, Cary had no idea what Live Photos were or that they even existed. So he went on Instagram Live to publicly deny his association with the butthole. After commenters explained that simply holding the photo down revealed his face, along with audio of a flight attendant making an announcement, he ended the stream in embarrassing defeat.

Via Giphy How to turn off Live Photos permanentlyIf you don't trust yourself to use Live Photos responsibly, there are a few ways to disable the feature on your iPhone or iPad — be it permanently or on a case-by-case basis. Many people have Live Photos enabled without even realizing it, so to start, let's take a look at how to permanently turn off the feature.

Step 2: Tap Camera > Preserve Settings.
Step 3: Switch the toggle next to Live Photos off.

How to disable Live Photos when sending an iMessageYou also have the option to leave Live Photos on all the time and only disable the feature when sending photos to others, such as in iMessage. Here's how to individually turn off the Live Photo feature in iMessage:
Total TimeStep 1: Open an iMessage chat and select the Live Photo(s) you want to send.
Step 2: If you selected Live Photo(s) you'll see the Live Photos icon (the blue and white shutter lens) in the upper left corner of the photo.
Step 3: To disable the Live Photo feature, simply tap the icon.
If a slash runs through the icon and it turns gray in color you've successfully disabled the feature and the image you send will appear to the recipient as a normal photo.

Keep in mind that although this method allows you to disable Live Photos in iMessage, you're not disabling the feature on your device.
To use Live Photos or not to use Live Photos?In certain instances, Live Photos can be genuinely great memory makers. If you like the feature, we encourage you to utilize it. Just keep Cary Dubek's Live Photo mishap in the back of your mind and remember the feature can get you into some trouble.

If you're going to send someone nudes and don't want to risk anything else — such as your face or surroundings — popping into frame, consider not using Live Photos. Mashable's tech reporter Matt Binder noted that if you're sending a Live Photo via a third party app that doesn't support the Apple feature (such as a dating app) your Live Photo will likely just appear as a regular photo. On July 10, Samsung will reportedly hold its next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. It appears that this event will focus heavily on Samsung's new foldable phones.
However, Samsung fans might not have to wait for the news about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, thanks to new leaks about the company's upcoming foldable device.
According to leaks first reported by Smartprix, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will receive some pretty significant updates. The foldable is tipped to receive three big gen-over-gen improvements: battery, camera, and a brand new chip.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 camera, battery, and chip upgradesThe big takeaway from these leaks is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6's chipset. It's perhaps the biggest upgrade from the previous model of the phone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This puts the new foldable device on par with the Galaxy S24 series, which Samsung released earlier this year. So, basically, this phone should be just as fast.
As for more Samsung S24 déjà vu, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will also get an equivalent camera upgrade as well. The main camera for the new phone will be 50MP, another big upgrade from its predecessor, which only sported a 12MP main camera.
Rounding out the big upgrades is the Galaxy Z Flip 6 battery. The new phone will have a 4,000mAh battery, which is an upgrade from the previous model's 3,700mAh battery.
According to the leaks, some other features coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 include a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. The device will come with 256GB and 512GB storage options and will be reportedly priced at $1,100 and $1,220, respectively.
Be sure to tune in on July 10 for the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event for the official announcements, but we don't expect too much to change up from these leaks.
A leaked photo of the Samsung Galaxy Ring charging case has surfaced ahead of its expected launch in July.
A well-known tipster on Weibo (via 9to5Google) shared an image that reveals a square white clamshell case with an elevated circle in the middle for holding the smart ring.
It looks similar to the charging case for Samsung's earbuds, the Galaxy Buds, although it's unclear whether the Galaxy Ring case will have a battery for easy charging on the go — or if it needs to be plugged in.
That said, the Galaxy Ring is expected to have a battery life that lasts a couple of days, so either way, the ring is designed to go where you go.

Early versions showed a simple metallic ring in gold, platinum, and black variants with 13 sizes. The ring is intended to complement Samsung Galaxy smartwatches and smartphones, making it all part of one big ecosystem for Samsung users.
We won't have to wait long for more details on the Galaxy Ring; the Samsung event is reportedly right around the corner on July 10. The tech giant, which recently expanded its AI features with Galaxy AI, is expected to announce the ring in addition to new foldables.

Click on the Apple menu (with the Apple icon) on the top-left corner of your screen.
Click on "System Settings."
Tap on "Accessibility" before clicking on "Zoom."
Turn on “Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom.”
Now you can use any of the following shortcuts:
Zoom in by holding down the Option, Command, and Equal (=) keys
Zoom out by holding down the Option, Command, and Minus (-) keys
Toggle between Zoom in and Zoom out by holding down the Option, Command, and Eight (8) keys
However, you don’t need to set a preference for some keyboard shortcuts, but these are limited to certain browsers and windows on your Mac:

According to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter at Bloomberg, Apple is taking a careful approach with its rollout of Apple Intelligence. Many of its features will launch roughly alongside iOS 18 in the fall, but this is considered a beta release by Apple. They will only be available for iPhone 15 Pro models — and their language capabilities will max out at American English for now.

Semantic indexing: A feature that allows the iPhone to collect data from images, emails, and websites and apps you use
Personal context: A feature that lets Siri take in information from calendar entries, text conversations, emails, and other sources and use that context to respond to personal queries
On-screen awareness: A feature that gives Siri the ability to grab information from what is currently on-screen to use as context for responses
Precise app control: A feature that lets Siri do things like show you edit specific photos or summarize articles using voice commands from within an app
Apple Intelligence evangelists should fear not, as many of the other advertised features at WWDC should be ready for use either right when iOS 18 launches or before the end of 2024, at worst. Prioritized notifications, website summaries, Genmoji, and others should hopefully be there to play around with to your heart's content.
You'll just have to wait for Siri to reach its full AI potential.

Back in May, TikTok announced the launch of TikTok Symphony, a creative suite designed to help brands put together AI-generated ads. Now, the social media giant is expanding these tools, announcing generative AI avatars for brands and creators.
It's an interesting move, allowing Symphony users to use digital avatars for creative and branded content. TikTok is offering both "stock avatars", which are pre-built with paid actors and licensed for commercial use, and "custom avatars", which are crafted to represent a creator's likeness or a brand's spokesperson or figurehead.

TikTok, like other big social media platforms, has implemented ways to label AI content and let users know that what they're seeing has been made with the help of artificial intelligence.

"We aim to fuel the creator economy by investing in creative solutions that spark joy, imagination and action," continued Yang in a statement.
TikTok also revealed additional features attached to Symphony, including AI-dubbing, which will allow creators and marketers to translate content into over 10 languages and dialects, in order to connect with bigger audiences globally. According to TikTok, the tool will automatically detect the original language in a video, later transcribing, translating, and producing a dubbed video in the selected languages offered.
It seems TikTok is slowly rolling out more AI-related tools, and we can assume there's more to come. The wildly-popular app has been playing around with several other new features of late, including ChatGPT-generated search results.
Apple Watch Series 10, which is likely to launch this September, will be a huge upgrade compared to Series 9. Literally.
Reliable Apple sleuth Ming-Chi Kuo said so in his latest note, claiming that the Series 10 will come in 45-millimeter and 49-millimeter sizes. That's a pretty big increase compared to Series 9, which comes in 41-millimeter and 45-millimeter screen sizes.
SEE ALSO: Apple's devices are about to get super-thin, report saysIn fact, given that the Apple Watch Series 1 — the original Apple Watch — came in 38 and 42 millimeter sizes, Kuo's proposed sizing for the Series 10 would be a bigger step up than we've had in all nine generations of Apple Watch (the 49-millimeter Apple Watch Ultra 2 excluded, of course).
Kuo also said the new Watch would have a "thinner design," which is in line with what we've recently heard from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who claims Apple will focus on making many of its products a lot thinner in the near future.
Kuo also mentioned the Apple Watch Ultra, which he claims would remain "roughly the same," though Apple could launch new case color options (black/dark).
Finally, Kuo said that Apple plans to build the Apple Watch with some parts manufactured using 3D printing technology, which China's BLT being the supplier, starting in the second half of 2024. It's unclear what sorts of immediate benefits this could provide for the customers, though.
