Garmin smartwatches took a tumble on Wednesday morning.
According to Down Detector, a mass of users reported issues with the Garmin Connect online service that holds all of Garmin's online smartwatch features together. The outage appeared to peak around 7 a.m. ET, meaning people wanting to get a morning run in on the east coast might have been out of luck, at least in terms of digitally planning a route and tracking their progress.
SEE ALSO: Garmin Instinct 3 accidentally leaked: 3 things we know about it so farHowever, by 9:30 a.m. ET or so, it appears the outage was functionally over. The number of Down Detector reports was near zero by that time, and more importantly, Garmin's status page showed every service and feature as being "online." According to The Independent, all of those services and features were marked as "offline" during the outage.
Lenovo has been on a roll. The Beijing-based tech company consistently debuts some of the most exciting and innovative laptops at CES every year, from the 2020 ThinkBook Plus with an "E Ink" display on its lid to 2023's dual-screened Yoga Book 9i and twistable ThinkBook Plus. Last year, it brought us a ThinkBook with snap-on attachments.
At the 2025 tech trade show, Lenovo aims to continue its hot streak with the formal launch of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, an all-new business laptop that's billed as "the world's first rollable display AI PC." It was introduced two years ago as a concept, and it's finally hitting the market within the next few months.
Mashable checked out the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 in a hands-on demo Tuesday, and unfortunately I'm going to be that person: Its OLED display doesn’t actually roll up like a scroll or a burrito, as its name implies. But setting aside that nitpick, it's a neat, well-made new option for creatives and multitasking professionals with padded pockets.
Credit: Haley Henschel / MashableFirst off: Why this? A Lenovo rep told us that the company is interested in exploring different ways to use OLED displays, which are thin and flexible. ("It's kind of like a sticker," they said.) You might recall 2020's ThinkPad X1 Fold with a bendable OLED display.
A mechanism within the hinge of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 slides a hidden extension of its display out from inside the base, where it's sandwiched between its keyboard and motherboard. The display coasts out along tracks on either side of the screen, which translate to some chunky bezels. A sing-songy chime plays as the display grows — maybe to muffle the noise of that mechanism, which sounds like a quiet pencil sharpener when it's working. The fully expanded display offers almost 50 percent more screen real estate than before, or enough room for two or three stacked windows.
SEE ALSO: CES 2025: Acer's new Aspire Vero 16 laptop is partially made from *checks notes* oyster shellsUsers can unleash and retract the display by pressing a dedicated key, or by holding their palm up near the top of the screen, like they're swearing on a bible. After the webcam takes a moment to register the hand's presence, a subsequent upwards or downwards gesture will cause the display to get bigger or smaller. (I preferred the button-pressing method in our testing — it's faster and less finicky.) The mechanism will stop the display-sliding process if the laptop's screen is too far forward.
Credit: Haley Henschel / MashableWhen fully extended, the display is super rigid, not at all top-heavy, and impressively free of any noticeable creases. The lid side of the display section that's sheathed has a ridged texture.
Lenovo made a couple changes to the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 in taking it from prototype to mass production. Its screen is tad bigger than the first iteration's, for one thing: It's now 14 inches at rest and 16.7 inches in full, up from 12.7 inches and 15.3 inches, respectively. A Lenovo rep told us the new larger size is more ideal for productivity and watching vertical videos.
Credit: Haley Henschel / MashableThe position of the display in the market-ready ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 has also been optimized for stability, Lenovo said — they didn't want it to crack or bubble easily — and the mechanisms that slide it out are more structurally sound. It's supposedly better at staying cool, too, and its finalized chassis should prevent any liquids from reaching the housed display in case anything gets spilled on its keyboard.
Looking beyond its party trick, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 is a pretty standard next-gen Copilot+ PC spec-wise. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 2 processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage, and it's got Intel Arc graphics. It webcam has a resolution of 5MP, and there's a privacy shutter on the top edge of its lid. Its keyboard is clicky and satisfying to use. It's 0.78 inches thick and weighs 3.73 pounds. It comes in Luna Grey. It hasn't been rated for battery life yet.
Credit: Haley Henschel / MashableIs it worth it for that expanding display alone? (Let's stop calling it rollable.) Maybe if you don't want to carry around a separate monitor — and you're not a fan of existing dual-display form factors.
The price of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 will probably be the biggest determining factor for most people: It will start at $3,499 when it hits the market sometime in Q1 2025.

Segway brought some serious e-power to this year's CES.
The company launched several new products at CES 2025, all of them electric powered, including e-bikes, scooters, and a lawnmower.
The one that caught our eye is the Segway Xyber. a rugged-looking e-bike that looks like a serious racing machine, with massive tires, hydraulic brakes, and an imposing suspension system.
It looks fast, and it is. In Race Mode, it goes from 0 to 20 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds, powered by Segway's 175Nm, 6,000 watt direct-drive motor. It's paired with a hefty, 2,880Wh dual-battery system, which should be enough for 112 miles of range. But it is, in fact, an e-bicycle, because it has pedals and 12-levels of pedal assistance. You can, however, completely rest your feet and operate it in throttle-only mode.
That's one mean-looking electric machine. Credit: SegwayOther features include hydraulically damped front and rear suspension (with 110mm and 100mm of travel, respectively), Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, and those 20 x 5.0-inch tires with flat-resistant inserts.
SEE ALSO: CES 2025 highlights: What we've seen so farThe Xyber might not be road-legal in all jurisdictions (at least not without a permit), but Segway says a second version is coming, and that one will conform to class 2 e-bike requirements. It should launch in late spring or early summer of 2025.
If you're up for something more...well, bicycley, Segway also brought the Segway Xafari to Las Vegas. It's described as an "all-terrain electric cruiser," and it has 88 miles of range thanks to the included 936Wh battery. Other features of note are the dual suspension (80mm of travel in the front, 70mm in the rear), and 26 x 3.0-inch all-terrain tires.
Segway Xafari is more of a commuter, but it's also pretty smart. Credit: SegwayBoth bikes come with Segway's Intelligent Ride System, which is a suite of smart tech features such as Apple Find My support, remote monitoring via GPS, real-time health and fitness data syncing, and more. Both bikes have a multi-color, high-res (so says Segway, we don't have the exact resolution figures), 2.4-inch smart TFT display.
Now, for the prices. The Segway Xyber will cost $2,999.99), while the Xafari will retail for $2,399.99) when they hit the market, and pre-orders are open now at store.segway.com.
From the left: Segway E3, Max G3, GT3 Pro, and F3 Credit: SegwayAt CES 2025, Segway also brought seven new electric scooters. Perhaps the most interesting among the bunch is the top-of-the-line Segway Ninebot Max G3. It boasts a 28mph top speed, a 50-mile range, and a 0-15 mile acceleration of 2.4 seconds. Dual hydraulic shock absorbers are here to smooth out the road bumps, and most of Segway's Intelligent Ride System features are here, including a multi-function TFT display. Price is unknown at this time, and availability starts in the spring of 2025.
SEE ALSO: We hopped into Xpeng Aero HT's 'flying car' at CESAnother interesting new addition to Segway's e-scooter lineup is the GT3 Pro, which can go from 0 to 30mph in 3.9 seconds in Ultra Boost Mode, with a top speed of 49.7 miles per hour, and a range of up to 86 miles. It's powered by dual 3,500 watt motors, and has a massive, 2,160mAh battery. Other features of note include the dual-piston, hydraulic disc breaks, a dual coil-suspension, and 11-inch, self-healing tires. We also don't know the price for the GT3 Pro, but we do know it will launch in the spring.
The company also refreshed its lineup with the F3 and F3 Pro commuters, and the ER and E3 Pro scooters, with focus on portability. All of the new scooters will be available in the spring or summer of 2025.
It even trims the edges! Credit: SegwayFinally, Segway also launched the Segway Navimow X3, a robotic lawn mower which can cover up to 5,000 square meters of lawn in 24 hours. It can conquer slopes up to 27 degrees, and can also trim your lawn's edges so you can have a nice lawn without putting in nearly any work.

One of the most important TV shows of 2022, comedian Mo Amer's lauded Netflix series Mo returns for a second season at the end of January.
Created by Amer with Ramy Youssef, and directed by Solvan "Slick" Naim, Season 1 focused on protagonist Mo Najjar (played by Amer), a Palestinian refugee living in Houston with his family, awaiting the result of his asylum case.
Season 2 picks up with Mo, who's been stranded in Mexico for six months, without a passport and a way to get back to his family in the United States. Though he's continually questioned over his yearning to cross the border, Mo keeps on keeping on, finding levity even after learning that his girlfriend Maria (Teresa Ruiz) has started dating someone else, and when he's threatened with deportation after a border crossing goes awry.
This season, Farah Bsieso returns as Yusra, Mo's mother, alongside Omar Elba as Sameer, Mo's brother, and Hannibal Buress, Liza Koshy, Matt Rife, Ralph Barbosa, and Slim Thug join the cast in guest roles.
More timely than ever, Mo's return examines his experiences as a Palestinian refugee, the hypocrisies of the U.S. immigration system, and the institutional dehumanisation of people just trying to achieve citizenship — all while being a particularly hilarious, poignant, superbly written comedy show about a man just trying to get by.
Donald Trump wants to go after Greenland, and Seth Meyers has a message for him.
"I'd like to say something to Donald Trump about his threat to take Greenland by military force that might take some of our viewers by surprise," says Meyers in the Late Night clip above, before issue the incoming President with a direct challenge: "Do it! Do it, you coward! Go get Greenland, you coward! Fix my shower and get me Greenland, or don't show me your face ever again! I'm calling your bluff, bro. Stop making these crazy promises. Do it. I want it. Go get it. Why won't you get it, you afraid of Denmark, bro? You starting to remember they've got those big ass dogs?"
Meyers goes on to say that this is how he knows Trump isn't going to take on China. "He talked a big game but now he's backing down and threatening Greenland instead. He's going to keep downgrading to smaller and smaller countries. Russia's going to do whatever it wants while he, like, threatens Peru."
