It's no secret that Mashable's shopping team loves Bose headphones. We regularly feature them in our roundups of the best earbuds, best noise-cancelling headphones, best open earbuds, and everything in between. But one thing we're not thrilled with is the price tag for these stellar buds. If you've been wanting to upgrade your earbuds to Bose, but don't want to dish out the money, now's your chance to score a pair for free. Let's break it down.

Through Feb. 26, you can get a pair of free refurbished Bose Ultra Open earbuds ($249 value) when you buy the Bose QuietComfort Ultra 2 earbuds (Mashable's favorite noise-cancelling earbuds) or get a free refurbished pair of Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds ($249 value) when you buy the Bose Ultra Open earbuds at Bose.com. That means you'll get two pairs of earbuds valued at $548 total for only $299.

To secure your free earbuds, just add a pair of QuietComfort Ultra (2nd gen) earbuds or Ultra Open earbuds to your cart on the Bose website. Once in your cart, you'll have the option to select a pair of free Bose Ultra Open earbuds (refurbished) in black, white smoke, or lunar blue or Bose QuietComfort Ultra (1st gen) in the same shades.

The second-generation QuietComfort Ultra earbuds offer some of the best noise cancellation we've encountered. "These earbuds deliver immersive sound that envelopes you in your music," Mashable's shopping reporter Bethany Allard writes in her review. They're also some of the most comfortable, as the name suggests. The previous generation buds are still pretty dang great as well. Meanwile, the Ultra Open earbuds are some of the best sounding open-ear headphones on the market. To score either option for free is a total steal, even if it's a refurbished pair. Just be sure to lock in the deal by Feb. 26 (or sooner).

Scream 7 trailer: Ghostface targets Sidney and her daughter

Mashable - Mon, 02/23/2026 - 11:27

Can someone please give Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) a break?

One of horror's most legendary Final Girls, Sidney went through hell and back in the first four Scream films, as well as the 2022 relaunch of the franchise. While she seemingly got a reprieve in Scream VI (in reality, Campbell turned down the film due to a pay dispute), Sidney is back for even more suffering in Scream 7. And you know who might be responsible? Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard), one half of Scream's original baddie pair.

SEE ALSO: 'Scream 7' trailer: Neve Campbell returns, but that's not what has us screaming

While promotional materials for Scream 7 have yet to actually show what's happened to Stu in the years since the original Scream, the first trailer did feature a flash of his voice, sending an excited chill up every Scream fan's spines.

Scream 7's latest trailer continues to remain coy on the Stu front, but what it lacks in Stu, it makes up for with plenty of Ghostface. This time around, the masked killer's plan is to make everyone Sidney loves suffer, including her daughter Tatum (Isabel May). Will this mother-daughter duo make it out of the film without getting slashed to bits?

In addition to Campbell, Lillard, and May, Scream 7 will also see the return of Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding as twins Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin.

Scream 7 opens in theaters Feb. 27.

Portable power stations are having a moment for a reason: they can be real lifesavers in all sorts of circumstances. Whether you have an upcoming camping trip and need to access your computer for work or you live in a power outage-prone area, having immediate access to on-the-go power can keep you up and running. Of course, they're not the cheapest investments, so when you find a good discount it's worth grabbing.

As of Feb. 23, you can pick up the Bluetti AC200L portable power station at Amazon for only $748.99. That's 53% or over $850 off its list price of $1,599 and the lowest price on record.

The Bluetti AC200L packs a 2,048Wh capacity (expandable up to 8,448Wh) with a 2,400W output. That's enough to power to keep a campsite rolling for the weekend or keep your essentials charged up and running in a home power outage. It includes plenty of ports for all of your devices and appliances, including four AC outlets, two USB-A, two USB-C, a 30A RV port, and a 48V/8A DC port. The AC200L power station has a 10-year lifespan and a five-year warranty, making it a smart long-term investment for your home and adventures. And knowing it's built to last helps justify the cost. Save over $850 while this deal is live.

Apple is testing a deep red color for iPhone 18 Pro, report says

Mashable - Mon, 02/23/2026 - 11:12

Apple's next pro-level iPhone is reportedly staying on the warm side of the color spectrum.

The latest newsletter from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who is usually correct when it comes to Apple predictions, is saying as much. Apparently, Apple has been testing out a new "deep red" color for the iPhone 18 Pro, using the same all-aluminum body type as last year's iPhone 17 Pro. This would be the first red iPhone since 2022, and according to Gurman, it might exist alongside the cosmic orange color that made waves last year, instead of outright replacing it. The orange is very popular in China, which is why it might survive into 2026 and beyond.

SEE ALSO: All the new products Apple could release in March: iPhone 17e, iPad Air, MacBooks

The heavily rumored iPhone Fold, said to launch this year, may not be so fortunate with its color choices in its debut, Gurman says. As an aside, Gurman's report notes that Apple is sticking to dark gray or black and white or silver for the colorways on that device. This aligns with previous leaks and rumors that said the iPhone Fold will only be available in black and white. Maybe we'll get a fun iPhone Fold in year two.

The all-aluminum chassis Apple adopted on the iPhone 17 Pro allowed the company to get a little bolder with its color choices, but it also came with a catch.

Last year's model was notoriously easy to scratch up, creating a minor controversy known as "Scratchgate." Some have theorized that Scratchgate is why Apple didn't release a black iPhone 17 Pro last year, even though black has been a mainstay color option for iPhones for a long time. The scratches were more easily visible on darker models, and the lack of a black color for the 17 Pro bothered some longtime fans on the internet.

If you want an expensive iPhone with a more muted color scheme, go with the Fold this year. If you want something vivid that will ultimately need to be covered with a case to avoid scratches, go with the 18 Pro.

You can genuinely pick any topic to start a content creation journey, but there's one brand that stands above the rest as a content-creator tech favorite and that's DJI.

Between the brand's cult-following DJI Mic Mini to the Osmo Pocket 3, DJI makes creating content so much easier. If your content could use the help of epic drone shots, we've found some excellent deals this week at Amazon. Here are the best DJI drone deals worth shopping.

DJI combo deals offer some of the best all-in-one options to get extra batteries, a case, and more, but this combo deal is truly all-encompassing. You'll be taking off with the right gear from the get-go thanks to this combo. It usually sells for $1,599 but it's on sale at Amazon today for $1,109 which is the lowest price we've ever seen at Amazon.

The DJI Mini 5 Pro drone itself comes with excellent specs like a 1-inch CMOS that can record in 4K at 60fps. You can also get true vertical shots, and it comes with a 225 degree gimbal rotation. If you'll be filming action shots, the DJI ActiveTrack 360° keeps your subjects in frame.

Another great DJI drone combo option that's on sale this week is the DJI Flip Fly More Combo. While it usually sells for $779, it's on sale at Amazon for $659.

With foldable propeller guards, this could be a great model if you'll be heading outside on drone adventures and packing it along in a backpack. The combo deal on the DJI Flip includes the drone itself, a carrying bag, the DJI RC 2, three DJI Flip Intelligent Flight batteries, and a charging hub. Each battery offers up to 31 minutes of flight time, so you'll be able to fly for over 90 minutes with the three included.

Since the DJI Flip drone weighs under 249 grams, it doesn't require an FAA registration, and the lightweight nature makes it easier for travel. Thanks to the DJI feature of palm takeoff, you'll have the ultimate level of freedom when getting drone content.

Instead of using a remote control, the DJI Neo comes with the ability to fly with controls on your phone. That means there's one less thing to pack along when on a drone journey. The built-in propeller guards are fantastic for easing the concern of getting damaged while in flight and you'll be recording in 4K UHD. Plus, palm takeoff adds extra convenience.

3 new Google Chrome features to make your work day easier

Mashable - Mon, 02/23/2026 - 10:59

Google announced new features on Friday to increase users' productivity in its Google Chrome web browser.

Split view, PDF annotations, and Save to Google Drive are all new to Google Chrome; however, some users may have seen them previously during Google's test run of the features.

SEE ALSO: Google resolves glitch serving ads to YouTube Music Premium users

Split view allows users to view two browser tabs side-by-side. Google provided some examples of how this feature can be used, with users being able to watch a YouTube video in one split-view tab and take notes in the second split-view tab. Unlike an operating system-level split view function, the split view feature in Chrome occurs within a single window in the web browser, with the two sites displayed next to each other simultaneously.

Google's PDF viewer within Chrome now has annotations. Users can markup any PDF within Chrome with notes, highlights, and more. Users can write freehand, use shapes, utilize different colors for their highlights, provide digital signatures, and more. Google shared that this was the most-requested feature from users, and now it's here.

Finally, Google has rolled out a new Save to Google Drive feature. Users no longer have to save documents and other downloadable files from the internet directly to their hard drive. Instead, Chrome users can choose to save downloads directly to Google Drive. Within Google Drive, every internet download can be found within the Saved from Chrome folder, so that nothing gets lost among all your other Google Drive files.

Your basic robot vacuum is no match for your shedding dog. This eufy is, and its $300 off.

If you're a pet parent dealing with constant shedding, a standard robot vacuum might not cut it. You're going to need a machine with serious suction and anti-tangle tech, and fortunately for you, Amazon just knocked the price of this eufy model down by $300.

As of Feb. 23, you can get the eufy E25 robot vacuum-mop combo for $599.99, down from $899.99, at Amazon. That's a 33% discount or $300 savings.

SEE ALSO: I found the best robot vacuums for every floor, budget, and level of laziness (after testing 30+ models at home)

This model is essentially tailor-made for homes with pets. It offers 20,000 Pa of turbo suction to pull embedded fur out of carpets, plus DuoSpiral anti-tangle brushes that prevent hair from clogging the rollers. If you're hesitant about smelly robot mops, this system solves that problem: the E25 uses a HydroJet system that continuously washes the roller mop twice per second while it cleans your floors. When it returns to the base station, it uses hot air drying to completely dry the mop, so you'll never have to deal with a musty wet-vac odor.

However, if the idea of a wet vac still makes you nervous (I had one bad experience, and I'll probably never buy another wet vac), or if your home is mostly carpet, you might want to check out the Eufy E20 3-in-1. It recently earned a spot in our roundup of the best robot vacuums for pet hair because it combines a self-emptying robot vacuum and a cordless stick vacuum into one dock. It's a great alternative if you just want to focus on dry messes — and at $349.99, it's a bit cheaper, too.

UK fines porn company £1.35 million for lack of age checks

Mashable - Mon, 02/23/2026 - 10:34

UK communications regulator Ofcom has fined the porn company 8579 LLC £1.35 million for not installing age checks, thus not complying with the Online Safety Act. Ofcom has also fined it an additional £50,000 for failing to respond to an information request.

The Online Safety Act went into effect in July 2025, requiring porn sites to have robust age assurance, such as with a credit card or facial recognition scan, going beyond the typical "yes or no" checkbox to verify someone is of age.

SEE ALSO: All the states Pornhub is blocked in now

According to Ofcom's investigation into 8579 LLC, its websites — such as crazyporn.xxx, hoes.tube, and love4porn.com — don't have these robust age checks.

"We've been clear that adult sites must deploy robust age checks to protect children in the UK from seeing porn," Ofcom's director of enforcement, George Lusty, stated in the press release. "Those that fail to do this — or ignore legally binding requests from us — should expect to face fines."

Ofcom has also investigated and fined other porn providers, like Kick Online Entertainment, which it fined £800,000. Last year, Ofcom threatened to fine and/or block controversial U.S. sites 4chan and Kiwi Farms for not implementing age checks. Now those sites are suing Ofcom, claiming they shouldn't have to comply as they're based in the United States.

In addition to finding non-compliant websites, people can avoid UK age checks using VPNs (virtual private networks). VPN usage has more than doubled since the law went into effect, to the point that the UK government is now weighing a VPN ban for children.

Pornhub, arguably the most well-known porn site, initially complied with the Online Safety Act. Towards the end of January, however, its parent company, Aylo, announced it would no longer comply due to these workarounds — both non-compliant sites and VPNs — and now blocks itself in the UK, aside from adults who have verified their age before February 2.

The highly anticipated film adaptation of Andy Weir's best-selling sci-fi novel Project Hail Mary officially hits theaters on March 20, 2026. But Prime members have the opportunity to see it in theaters four days before its nationwide release. A Prime membership really is the gift that keeps on giving.

As an Amazon MGM Studios theatrical release, Amazon is giving Prime members access to an exclusive early screening of Project Hail Mary on March 16, 2026 at 7 p.m. local time in select theaters across the country. Tickets are now available through Fandango on a first-come, first-serve basis. Navigate to the Project Hail Mary landing page on Amazon.com and click on "buy tickets" in the bottom corner. You'll then be prompted to sign into your Amazon Prime account and redirected to Fandango to select your tickets. All early access showings will be on premium large format screens, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, and 70mm, so you can watch astronaut Ryland Grace's interstellar adventure in the most immersive way possible.

It goes without saying that tickets are going fast — be sure to snag yours ASAP if you want to see the film before everyone else.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, Project Hail Mary stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship millions of miles from Earth with no recollection of how he got there. As his memory slowly returns, he pieces together his mission: save Earth from the alien microorganisms causing the sun to die out. Those who have read the book (which I couldn't recommend more — particularly the audiobook) know the gripping story is about a whole lot more than just science. It's a story about survival and unexpected friendship, and you may want to bring some tissues along.

Not a Prime member? You can still sign up and gain access to the early screening, but you'll have to act quick to secure your tickets. You'll get a free 30-day trial to kick things off.

Recently, leaker @onleaks posted a gallery and video on X that claims to show dummy units of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. We can't verify the authenticity of the video, but it looks plausible, at least.

Overall, it looks very similar to the S25 Ultra, as expected, with one notable change — it has a camera bump similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7. As 9to5Google points out, because this bump is on the left side of the phone, it will make the phone wobble when placed down on a table or desk. (The TriFold has the same problem.) In comparison, the latest iPhone 17 Pro Max has a more symmetrical shape and thus no wobble.

This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.

However, we would be a little skeptical of this leak. Android Police recently posted its own alleged S26 Ultra leaks, only without the camera bump.

As for colors, leaker Evan Blass posted what could be the full list of color options on X. The colors are:

  • Black

  • White

  • Silver Shadow

  • Sky Blue

  • Cobalt Violet

  • Pink Gold

Those all sound pretty standard for a Samsung phone, so it doesn't seem like the company is doing anything wildly bold this year in terms of colors. That's either a relief or a disappointment to you, depending on how you felt about the controversial cosmic orange iPhone last year.

What models will be included in the S26 lineup?

We're expecting three phones at the next Galaxy Unpacked event:

  • Samsung Galaxy S26

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra

Less than a year ago, rumors and leaks pointed to a significant shakeup in the Galaxy S26 line. It was said that Samsung would rename the base model to S26 Pro, drop the Plus model that sat in the middle of the annual lineup for years, and replace that with a new Edge phone modeled after last year's S25 Edge (which was something of a flop). However, that's apparently no longer happening, and you can thank Apple for that, per Korean outlet NewsPim (via 9to5google).

How will the S26 differ from the S25? Credit: James Martin / Mashable

Due to Apple's success in offering significant year-over-year upgrades to the base iPhone 17 (such as a 120Hz display) without raising the price, Samsung has reportedly dropped the Pro branding for the base model and reverted it back to just the Galaxy S26, which was corroborated by a separate report from SamMobile. According to that report, you can expect a retread of the usual S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra lineup in 2026. That may be disappointing to anyone who was expecting a big shakeup based on previous reporting, but if nothing else, it makes it easier to keep track of what's going on.

As for the previously rumored S26 Edge, it's unclear what's going to happen with that. It might be dead, or it might come out later in the year as a separate release like the S25 Edge did. Given that phone's relative lack of success, it might be smart to assume there won't be an S26 Edge at this point.

Galaxy S26 rumored specs

For specs, the rumors aren't particularly surprising. The Galaxy S26 series is currently rumored to have the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, which Qualcomm rebranded to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. There is also a rumor that Samsung will equip some S26 models with an Exynos chip, which Samsung fans hope is the Exynos 2600, which has also been making some noise in the rumor mill lately.

In terms of the small stuff, like storage and RAM, there have been some small rumblings. One rumor says that the Galaxy S26 (all models) will feature 16GB of RAM, a 4GB increase from the last few years, and the most a Galaxy phone has had since the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In terms of storage capacity, there are no rumors that anything will change, so the 128GB base (256GB on the Ultra) is likely to remain in place for now, with upgraded storage available as an option.

Galaxy S26: Is a price hike coming?

We're in the midst of a major global memory shortage, and this has been very bad news for smartphone and laptop shoppers (you can blame the AI industry for hogging all the RAM). And according to leaker @kro_roe, this could not only lead to an S26 price hike, but also the end of a popular launch offer.

This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.

Typically, when Samsung launches a new phone, customers who pre-order or purchase at launch can claim double the storage at no extra cost. But with RAM in short supply, that may no longer be the case. The most recent rumors suggest that Samsung hasn't landed on a final price for the S26 phones, however.

That last part is important because it's very possible that the prices won't change after all. At least one new report suggests Samsung is trying to make sure the prices don't increase from last year, even if that means the company has to eat some of the cost of each unit sold.

Battery and charging

Based on early rumors, this may be one of the most interesting changes coming to the S26 lineup. Samsung has been working on a stacked battery design that would allow for more dense batteries in the same physical space. This could bring a long-awaited bump to battery size. According to early rumors, the S26 Ultra is slated to come with a 5,500 mAh stacked battery, a 10 percent increase from the S25 Ultra.

Samsung reportedly experimented with removing a camera to add even more battery capacity, but that doesn't mean it's certain to happen in the mass-produced model. While the S26 Pro was rumored to have a bigger 4,900mAh battery compared to previous base model Galaxy phones, NewsPim's report claimed that the base S26 (now that it's no longer a Pro device) has been adjusted down to a more modest 4,300mAh cell.

For charging, it’s unlikely that the Galaxy S26 series will get a serious upgrade. Samsung is definitely working on 60W wired charging, but so far, it seems that Samsung will wait for the Galaxy S27 series (or later) to implement it. This could change as we get closer to launch for the S26 series, but for now, it seems that 45W will be around for at least one more year. There are also rumors that wireless charging may see a bump to the Qi2 standard

Galaxy S26: What about the cameras?

The camera system in the Galaxy S26 series may change quite a bit, and there are a few different rumors that say different things. Jumping right in, one older rumor says that the S26 series will have the same megapixel count but will feature a new, as-of-yet unannounced sensor from the same ISOCELL GN series as prior Samsung models. On the Galaxy S26 Ultra, a 200MP camera is rumored, as is a 324MP lens with a 50MP, 3x telephoto lens. It’s more likely that Samsung will do the 200MP with a new sensor, but all leaks are being considered right now.

In addition, there are rumors that Samsung will bring back its variable aperture on the main shooter, which Samsung hasn’t included on its camera system since the Galaxy S10 series back in 2019. As previously mentioned, Samsung may be considering dropping the number of cameras to three instead of four, like on prior models, to make space for a larger battery. Other rumors about the camera include a dual periscope design that’ll magnify to 8x, but that is just speculation at this time.

However, many of these rumors come from the time when we thought Samsung was significantly altering the S26 lineup. Newer reports indicate that, at least for the base S26 and S26 Plus, things won't change that much from previous years. According to Korean outlet The Elec, those two phones will have the exact same megapixel count on the triple-lens rear array as previous Galaxy models: a 50MP wide lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP 3x telephoto lens. Those have been the specs going all the way back to the Galaxy S22. If you were hoping for big changes in the cheaper S26 models this year, you have our condolences.

As we have gotten closer to the Unpacked event, Samsung has given us a little tease about photography that's worth discussing briefly. The company announced in a very vague press release that AI editing tools for photos and videos will live in one unified app experience, rather than asking users to switch from one app to another for their AI editing needs. Whether this means all of that stuff will live in the basic camera app remains to be seen, but for frequent photo editors, this is worth keeping an eye on.

Other features and hardware

Android Police recently alerted us to a very interesting feature that could make its debut with the S26: A new mode called Privacy Display. This rumored feature would make the display resemble a frosted screen protector, except it would be built into the UI. This leak comes from Samsung itself, so it's all but confirmed.

Other details on the Galaxy S26 lineup are pretty predictable. It’ll come with the latest One UI out of the gate with the latest version of Android. That is no surprise, and we don’t need rumors to predict that one. The S26 series will likely get One UI 8.5, which is slated for a rather large redesign along with a host of new features, including the aforementioned privacy screen feature. According to rumor, the redesign emulates Apple’s Liquid Glass in some ways with transparent UI elements.

The only other piece of hardware we haven’t talked about is the S-Pen. Samsung appears to be set to do something big with the S-Pen. The rumors speculate that the S-Pen is sticking around and will come with some upgrades. The new functionality may have something to do with how magnetic accessories work, and this seems to be linked to the aforementioned Qi2 wireless charging upgrade.

We'll find out how much (if any) of this is true in just a matter of weeks, going by previous Samsung announcement timelines.

John Oliver gives a brutal summary of the current state of Elon Musks X

Mashable - Mon, 02/23/2026 - 06:59

John Oliver has given his opinion on the current state of X (formerly Twitter) — and as you can probably imagine, he doesn't pull any punches.

In the Last Week Tonight episode above, the host summarises the many issues the platform has faced since Elon Musk took over — from changes to the verification system to users being fed right-wing content and misinformation.

"The fact is, a massive media platform has been shaped in the image of its poisonous owner, and it doesn't seem like Elon's gonna see the error of his ways anytime soon — seeing his brain seems to be thoroughly cooked by the garbage he consumes on his own site," Oliver says.

The host's conclusion? Stop posting on the platform altogether.

"There are certain areas, like news in particular, where Twitter is now worse than useless," Oliver says. "In fact, for breaking news, it is an active liability, as people routinely push out false information in the wake of tragedies and crises, often for money, and there don't seem to be many guardrails to stop them.

"All of which is really a long way of saying that the Twitter that we may have once relied on and the Twitter that was fun and occasionally useful is just well and truly gone. And collectively, while it might be sad, it might be past time for all of us to, if I may borrow a truly poisoned phrase, let that sink in."

Elite Trainer Boxes tied to major Pokémon TCG expansions don’t dip below $100 as often as we’d like to see, but this Mega Evolution box has taken us by surprise. As of Feb. 23, the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Box (Mega Gardevoir edition) is available for $94.89 on Amazon, shaving 5% off its usual $99.99 price.

When checking price tracker camelcamelcamel, we have confirmed that this is definitely the lowest we’ve seen for the Mega Gardevoir ETB on Amazon this year — not dropping lower than this since before December 2025. While it’s not a massive discount on paper, sub-$95 pricing on one of 2025’s most in-demand Mega Evolution ETBs is quite a big deal considering how stock fluctuates. The release of new expansions (like Ascended Heroes) hasn’t stopped demand from staying high.
