OpenAI has introduced a new image library inside ChatGPT, which gives users quick access to their AI-generated creations in a slick sidebar.
SEE ALSO: Want to be an AI action figure? Just give ChatGPT a full-body pic.The feature, now rolling out across both web and mobile platforms, is available to all users, paid or not. OpenAI even dropped a short demo on X showing just how seamless it is. If you’ve made images in ChatGPT before, the library should already be visible on the left panel. If not, fire up a prompt, and the feature should appear after reloading the page.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. While modest on the surface, the feature could hint at something bigger. OpenAI may be laying the groundwork for a social platform focused on image creation, according to Mashable’s Cecily Mauran. The goal is apparently greater visibility for its viral image tools and a new stream of real-time user data.
For now, it’s just a library. But in the context of OpenAI’s broader ambitions, it might be the opening move in a much bigger play.
Well, this doesn't really seem like what President Donald Trump would've wanted.
Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Chinese retailers Temu and Shein have seen a big uptick in sales as people in the United States look to beat Trump's tariffs. The outlet added that shoppers, in particular, stocked "products like makeup brushes and home appliances before tariff-led price increases set in."
SEE ALSO: Whatever Trump decides on tariffs, Apple and Tim Cook loseShein reportedly saw a 29 percent increase in revenue in March compared with last year as well as a 38 percent growth through the first 11 days of April. Temu, meanwhile, saw increases of 46 percent and 60 percent, respectively, in the same time period, according to Bloomberg.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.Trump's tariffs have been the source of fear and consternation in the U.S. Prices have already begun to rise as the stock market has taken a steep tumble. It makes sense that folks would attempt to buy items from China ahead of prices getting too high. While Trump may have paused his administration's so-called "reciprocal" tariffs for other nations, China is a major exception. There remains a 145 percent — yes, 145 percent — tariff on Chinese goods. At first, it seemed there may be exceptions for electronics, but Trump has since indicated that may not be the case.
Ngozi Ikonjo Iweala, the World Trade Organization director general, called the "decoupling" of the U.S. and Chinese economies "a phenomenon that is really worrying to me." She said she expected trade to fall between 81 and 91 percent between the two nations. It tracks, then, that folks rushed to Shein and Temu ahead of that fall-off.
With Season 7 of Black Mirror, series superfan Jimmi Simpson returned to reprise the roles of video game billionaire James Walton and his less vicious in-game clone in "USS Callister: Into Infinity." Mashable Entertainment Editor Kristy Puchko sat down with Simpson over Zoom for an interview about what it was like to come back to Black Mirror. And beyond that, what was it like to go full-on Cast Away with a touch of Oldboy?
Sure, Clone Walton was thought to be dead after his heroic self-sacrifice at the end of "USS Callister." However, "Into Infinity" reveals that he'd be respawned on an unpopulated planet in the online MMORPG Infinity. When Clone Nanette (Cristin Milioti) finds him, Clone Walton is basically looking and living like Tom Hanks deep into the stranded-on-a-desert-island movie Cast Away, right down to having an inanimate, spherical buddy with a smiley face drawn on in blood.
Asked if Simpson watched Cast Away to tap into this mindset, he said, "I saw that movie in the theater when it came out [2000]. I certainly enjoyed it, like everybody else, and I know [the writers, which included Charlie Brooker, William Bridges, Bisha K. Ali, and Bekka Bowling] were going for a Cast Away kind of send-up. It was already there. I didn't need [to revisit]. If I were to re-watch it, I probably would have grabbed specific things, and I don't think it needed that. They set it up. You get what it is."
If anything, Simpson felt his inspiration point came from the movies he loved in his childhood. "There's this late '80s movie Enemy Mine, where Dennis Quaid — he's thrust onto this planet," he said. "It feels like an '80s thing, where the star is now stuck on this other planet to figure out how to live. And I felt like I was just living that thing. I'd watched those movies as a kid forever. So that was like a dream."
Referring to the scene in Black Mirror where Clone Walton fishes and then bites into an alien species, he continued, "Eating space octopi was like a dream come true. Honestly, [the production team was] like, 'We're sorry if it doesn't taste good.' I'm like, 'I don't care. This is the coolest!'"
What does space octopus taste like? "It was like a slightly sweet blue dye flavor."
Google's use of AI to combat harmful ads has resulted in the suspension 39.2 million fraudulent accounts.
On Wednesday, the tech giant published its 2024 Ads Safety Report, highlighting its use of advanced LLMs (Large Language Models) to detect and enforce advertiser fraud. Since 2023, Google has added "50 enhancements" to its LLMs that "need only a fraction of the information earlier models needed to quickly recognize emerging threats, identify patterns of abuse, and distinguish legitimate businesses from scams." Indicators of abuse that can be detected by Google's AI tool include business impersonation and illegal payment details.
SEE ALSO: Google invented new ways to alter movies with AI for The Sphere. It's sure to be controversial. As a result, Google blocked or removed 5.1 billion ads last year. The majority of those ads Google stopped were due to "abusing the ad network," meaning methods of circumventing Google's review process by tricking users with bait-and-switch ads or using malware. Other ads caught in the sweep involved trademark violations as well as personalized ads that violate Google's policies by targeting users or promoting products based on sensitive topics like personal hardships, identify and belief, and sexual interests.
Google is also using AI to fight the increase of bad actors leveraging AI for scams. Deepfakes have become more pervasive and convincing. Last year, actor Tom Hanks' likeness was used to shill medical hoaxes. Scarlett Johansson took legal action against an app for deepfaking her image and voice to promote it. Google went after "bad actors using AI-generated imagery or audio to imply an affiliation with a celebrity to promote a scam" by suspending over 700,000 advertiser accounts, which led to a 90 percent decrease in reports. Overall, it blocked or removed 415 million scam ads.
Google's ad safety team said they shut down the majority of scammy accounts before users were ever served an ad. Given the present volume of offensive of harmful stuff on the internet, we shudder to think of the ads that never saw the light of day.
There's a big problem with Microsoft Outlook Classic right now, and the main way for regular people to fix it will require a bit of old-school computing.
The tech giant confirmed on its support website that CPU usage on a Windows machine can jump by as much as 50 percent when simply typing a message in Outlook Classic in the current build of the email app.
That's a startling figure, to be sure, and you can confirm if it's happening to you by opening Task Manager while using Outlook. However, you probably won't need to do that because you'll probably also notice your PC moving noticeably slower or even freezing when it happens.
SEE ALSO: Apple, Dell, and Microsoft among tech companies rushing product shipments ahead of tariff deadline, report saysAccording to Microsoft, there is a fix for this...sort of. It's more of a temporary workaround, really. There are detailed instructions online for enterprise Outlook managers, but for the average person using Outlook at home, you'll need to become familiar with Command Prompt. Find the app under that name in your Start menu, and once the classic black text field is on your screen, there are a couple steps to take to get around the problem:
Paste "reg add HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\common\officeupdate /v updatebranch /t REG_SZ /d SemiAnnual" into the Command Prompt window and press Enter
Open Outlook
Select File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now
Doing all of that will switch you to a different release build of Outlook, which doesn't suffer from the same problem. Ideally, Microsoft will just fix the problem at some point and you won't have to worry about that anymore. But for now, that's the fix.

If you're not interested in getting a Switch 2, these cards are also compatible with your Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and other portable gaming handhelds. Our top pick: Eufy X10 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum and Mop Opens in a new window Credit: Eufy Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop $549.99 at AmazonOnce again, the powerful Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop combo is down to just $549.99 at Amazon — 39% off its list price and the same record-low it hit during the Big Spring Sale. Not only does this robovac empty itself, but it also washes and dries its own mopping pads, which Mashable's robot vacuum expert Leah Stodart says it's a pretty hard feature to find for under $1,000. It also packs 8,000 Pa suction power, which is impressive for its price, scrubs with two spinning mopping pads rather than a single stationary one, and has small obstacle avoidance technology. Just note that this is a Lightning deal, so once it's 100% claimed, the discount will disappear.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic Opens in a new window Credit: Samsung Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (43mm) $199 at AmazonNow's as good of a day as any for a half-price Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The 43mm version is typically $399.99, but as of April 16, it's down to only $199 — a new record low. More akin to a traditional timepiece than the regular Watch 6, the Classic model features a rotating bezel, a stainless steel case, and a Hybrid Eco-Leather Band. Otherwise, it's largely the same as the Galaxy Watch 6, which we were big fans of when it was released in 2023. Though it's not the latest and greatest Galaxy Watch any longer, the sixth generation is still a very good smartwatch. It includes a nuanced breakdown of your sleep habits, personalized heart rate zones, irregular heart rate notifications, a large always-on display, and a large suite of fitness and health features.

SAVE $250: The Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop is on sale at Amazon for $549.99, down from the standard price of $799.99 listed at Eufy. That's a 31% discount.
Opens in a new window Credit: Eufy Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop $549.99 at AmazonRegardless of how you feel about robots or AI taking over, we can all agree that a floor-cleaning robot is a great invention. No one has ever wished they spent more time mopping, especially with how smart robovacs are now, and how well they get the job done. If you're in the market for a high-end model that doesn't come with a whopping price, check out this deal at Amazon.
As of April 16, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni robot vacuum and mop combo is on sale for $549.99 at Amazon, marked down from the $799.99 normal price listed at Eufy. That's $250 for a 31% discount. This sale price matches what we saw during the Amazon Big Spring Sale in March.
SEE ALSO: Spring cleaning starter kit: 10 products to cover all your basesWe have countless options when it comes to choosing a robot vacuum from both well-known brands and companies we've never heard of. Some are awesome and some still tumble down the stairs, which is why we're all about listening to Mashable's vacuum expert and Senior Shopping Reporter Leah Stodart. She spent four months testing out the Eufy X10 Pro Omni and compared its performance to the other 25+ vacuums she's tested since 2019. Overall, this was one of her favorite vacuums of 2024.
For starters, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni comes with a few high-end features that we don't typically see in models that come in at the Eufy's price point. Stodart wrote in her review: "The Eufy X10 Pro Omni doesn't do... anything perfectly (does any robot vacuum?), but it cleans, navigates, and maintains itself competently enough to make it a front-runner over a ton of older hybrid vacuums. Specifically, the X10 Pro Omni is the better value over any hybrid model that isn't equipped with those two game-changing features: small obstacle avoidance technology and self-cleaning mopping pads."
The self-cleaning mopping pads are something everyone should be looking out for when buying a combo robot vacuum. The Eufy does this exceptionally well since it cleans and then dries the mopping pads with heat, meaning you're a lot less likely to end up with that funky smell of something that took way too long to dry.
The Eufy also thrives on independence, and Stodart found she only needed to empty the dust bag (located in the dock) once every four months. In terms of the mopping water tanks, she only had to deal with them a couple times over the testing period.
The Eufy X10 Pro Omni comes with 8,000pa suction power, which Stodart found to be pretty good for cleaning up most debris, but it did struggle a bit with debris around the edges of rugs, for example. "It's not the level of thoroughness I'd achieve when taking my Dyson out for a spin, but I felt comfortable letting the Eufy X10 Pro Omni take care of the random crumbs that show up in the kitchen, as well as kitty litter in my bathroom."
For anyone who would like to ignore floor maintenance without having to spend a fortune or worry about the vacuum doing a poor job, the Eufy X10 Pro Omni is a solid choice. Thanks to today's sale price at Amazon of $549.99, we're even more convinced snagging this model is a power move.

That way you can keep an eye on it without having to dismantle it and just sit back, relax, and let it do its thing.
It's an effective cleaner, with 180 rotations per minute and 6N of pressure, so it can power through tough stains. It also has dual sweeping and mopping modules so it can clean more efficiently and simultaneously. Its vacuum side has 7,000 Pa of suction with a rolling brush and side brush, so even if you're regularly dealing with pet hair, it can break through like a pro.

If you've ever wanted to watch Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch hurl insults (and oranges) at each other, then today's your lucky day. Searchlight Pictures has released a trailer for The Roses, an upcoming dark comedy about a divorce from hell.
Directed by Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Bombshell) and written by Tony McNamara (The Favourite, Poor Things), The Roses reimagines the 1989 dark comedy The War of The Roses, based on the novel by Warren Adler. The original film starred Kathleen Turner, Michael Douglas, and Danny DeVito, who also directed.
In The Roses, Cumberbatch and Colman play Theo and Ivy Rose. He's a high-powered architect, she's a successful chef, and they have a wonderful family life. But tensions brew when Theo's career crashes as Ivy's blossoms, setting the pair up for a competitive divorce — including a showdown over who gets their gorgeous house.
The trailer is full of crackling insults ("You are a bottomless pit of need") as well as glimpses of Cumberbatch and Colman's all-out fights. If you thought the arguments were intense, just wait until Ivy pulls a gun on Theo. (He counters with a thrown orange, which proves surprisingly effective.)
The trailer also showcases The Roses' stellar supporting cast, which includes Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, and Kate McKinnon.
Watch the full trailer above to witness the glorious Cumberbatch-Colman showdown for yourself.

Not every AI-based narrative is the same, and Companion is here to prove it. Full of twists and plenty of gruesome violence, the deranged thriller is coming to the small screen this spring after an impressive box office run. The movie stars Sophie Thatcher, Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend. As our reviewer said before its release, Companion "takes its riveting premise into a rich terrain of twisted turns embedded with smart and sick humor," turning it more into a dark comedy than your typical thriller.
If you missed Companion in theaters, we have good news: You can start streaming the sci-fi thriller at home beginning April 18 on Max. Here's everything you need to know about how to watch Companion.
What is Companion about?Written and directed by Drew Hancock, Companion follows a small group of friends on a weekend getaway at a remote cabin in the woods. However, one of them is not what they appear to be — Iris is actually a companion robot who becomes aware of her reality, seeking revenge and quickly turning the weekend into a bloody mess. "But if you think Companion is going to go the way of M3GAN or AfrAId, you're in for a slew of slick surprises," Mashable's reviewer notes.
Check out the full trailer:
Is Companion worth watching? The Sophie Thatcher-led thriller took home an impressive $36.7 million at the worldwide box office when it released in theaters back in January. What's more impressive is it managed to win over audiences — which isn't always the case with box office hits. It nabbed a 94 percent critic rating and 89 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Mashable's own reviewer, film editor Kristy Puchko, called it "a rollicking thrill ride that's as spiked with surprises and gore as it is sharp punchlines."
"Aside from the delicious twists that lead to a string of gruesome yet amusing murders, Companion also boasts an ensemble cast that expertly keeps things light and fun amid the horrors," Puchko wrote. "Altogether, they create a compelling, funny, and fierce thriller that's a deranged delight."

Let’s get this out of the way: Bionic Bay is going to be compared to Limbo and Inside. A lot. It’s inevitable. Psychoflow Studios, in collaboration with Mureena Oy, has delivered what feels like a sci-fi reimagining of Playdead’s moody 2010 classic. The visual storytelling, the shadowy menace, the precisely brutal puzzles — it’s all here, reassembled with a slick, biomechanical sheen.
But don’t mistake Bionic Bay for a copycat. Beneath the familiar silhouette lies a wildly inventive and occasionally maddening precision platformer that plays like a love letter to physics. This isn’t just puzzle-solving; it’s gravity-bending, object-swapping, mid-air improvisation that can make you feel like a time-warping parkour demigod when it all clicks.
Clocking in at around 8–10 hours (depending on how reckless or masochistic you are), it’s tightly paced — though not always evenly. I played on PlayStation 5, and somewhere in the middle of its surreal, flesh-and-metal dreamscape, I found myself wondering: How the hell are they going to top this?
Welcome to the Otherworld Credit: Psychoflow Studios / Mureena Oy / Kepler InteractiveBionic Bay technically has a story, but don’t expect much of a narrative to latch onto. Most of it unfolds through cryptic text logs that pop up as you stumble across the corpses of long-dead scientists, scattered like breadcrumbs across this eerie, decaying world.
From what my very smooth, very confused brain could piece together, you’re the unfortunate scientist who has survived an experiment gone sideways — catapulted into the guts of an ancient, hyper-advanced alien civilization. That’s...pretty much it. And honestly, that’s fine. The "plot" is more ambient than essential — it's just vibes, bro. Really, it’s just an excuse to hurl yourself over chasms wider than your rent bill.
Thankfully, you’re not doing it alone, or entirely as a human. Early on, the game zaps you with a genetic upgrade called "elasticity," essentially turning your character from discount Gordon Freeman into a wall-bouncing, momentum-bending physics god.
As you progress, Bionic Bay hands you a trio of reality-breaking tools that would make any physics professor sweat. First up: a transporter that lets you swap places with nearby objects. Then there’s the Chronolag, a pair of sunglasses that slows time in a tight radius around you. Finally, the gravitational backpack, a piece of high-tech wizardry that lets you rotate the direction of gravity with a flick of the right stick.
Naturally, these gadgets come with caveats. The swap tool only works with objects currently on screen (no teleporting cheese here). The Chronolag is limited to a tense 30 seconds and cuts off the second you take damage or go full ragdoll. The gravity backpack allows for two midair uses — after that, you're out of tricks and headed straight for a hard landing.
But despite the limitations, or even because of them, each tool is essential to cracking Bionic Bay’s brutally tight puzzle platforming. And I mean tight. These puzzles don’t just flirt with precision; they demand pixel-perfect timing and surgical object placement. Especially in the later levels, success hinges on mastering momentum, nailing swaps mid-fall, and contorting through gaps designed to mock your sense of space and rhythm.
Even with all the high-tech tools at your disposal, mastering your own movement is essential to solving Bionic Bay’s intricate puzzles. One of the most versatile mechanics is the dash, triggered with the Circle button. It sends your character hurtling forward in a curled, high-speed motion — part movement boost, part crouch — perfect for slipping through tight gaps or gaining momentum.
The dash can also be chained with jumps for extended traversal. Combining it with the X button allows for long, arcing leaps that feel like controlled bursts of flight. In practice, it’s a rhythmic sequence: dash, jump, dash again. The Circle button also functions as a dive midair, letting you fine-tune your trajectory or squeeze through narrow environmental windows with just the right amount of force.
A solution for everyone Credit: Psychoflow Studios / Mureena Oy / Kepler InteractiveThe environments in Bionic Bay aren’t just backdrops — they're fully interactive playgrounds where the rules are loose, and experimentation is everything. Most puzzles don’t lock you into a single solution; instead, they hand you a toolbox and let your grasp of the game’s intricate physics system guide the way. Getting from point A to point B is less about following a path and more about inventing one, usually while avoiding hazards like vaporizing lasers, insta-freeze traps, and an absurd number of explosive land mines.
Take one scenario: I needed to reach a high cliff from ground level. One option was to roll a barrel into place, launch myself off it, swap positions mid-air, race over to climb the object, jump off it, and grab the ledge. Another route? Use the land mines — delicately timed detonation included — to catapult me skyward using the previously mentioned object as a shield. The game doesn’t just allow for creativity; it thrives on it, practically begging players to break it in the most stylish ways possible. It’s built for the kind of player who sees every mechanic as a potential exploit, and Bionic Bay rewards that mentality at every turn.
Bionic Bay drips with atmosphere — equal parts decaying alien architecture and rusted industrial labyrinth. In one moment, you’re dwarfed by writhing, root-like structures lit by an amber glow that feels almost biblical in its intensity. In the next, you’re navigating a colossal tangle of mechanical guts like massive gears, broken scaffolding, and planet-sized orbs suspended in shafts of scorching light. It's biomechanical horror meets cosmic wonder, with every frame soaked in grime, heat, and a strange, almost sacred silence. It’s haunting, oppressive, and stunningly beautiful all at once.
Bionic Bay walks a fine line visually. Despite the protagonist being mostly a black silhouette, the environments are detailed enough that you never lose track of him, even in the most chaotic moments. And — maybe this dates me — but the contrast between the character and the background instantly brought Vector to mind, that sleek parkour side-scroller from the iOS glory days of 2012. It’s as if Psychoflow took that minimalist, kinetic style and mashed it together with moody pixel art, otherworldly concept design, and the eerie tone of Limbo.
The result is something familiar yet fresh, a visual identity that feels both nostalgic and completely alien.
Is Bionic Bay worth it? Credit: Psychoflow Studios / Mureena Oy / Kepler InteractivePerformance-wise, there’s not much to complain about. Bionic Bay runs smoothly on PS5, with just a single framerate dip cropping up late in the game. I’m curious to see how the online mode holds up, but since I was playing on a pre-release build, the multiplayer was a ghost town even after I unlocked it by finishing the main campaign.
As for sound design, I was fully locked in. The soundtrack rarely takes center stage, but when it does, it hits — pulsing synths that creep in and swell at just the right moments, adding a heavy, unnerving layer to the game’s far-future horror vibe. It looks great, it sounds great, and while the single-player campaign does drag a bit in the middle, it’s a gorgeous slog. A stylish, ambient descent into mechanical madness that knows how to hold your attention, even when it's testing your patience.
Bionic Bay is absolutely worth your time, especially if you're the kind of player who thrives on challenge, experimentation, and atmospheric immersion. It doesn't reinvent the puzzle platformer but pushes the genre in a clever direction with its physics-driven mechanics and open-ended puzzle design. It's a game that respects your intelligence and rewards your curiosity while looking like a fever dream built from scrap metal and alien roots.
It’s not perfect — the pacing stumbles in the middle, and the story barely registers — but the overall experience is too striking to ignore. For fans of Limbo, Inside, or even old-school Vector, Bionic Bay is a beautifully harsh evolution of the genre. Just be prepared to die. A lot.
