Amazon's Black Friday sale went live Nov. 21 (a full week before Thanksgiving), ushering in some year-round lows on robot vacuums, Apple products, and Fire TVs. This year's best Amazon Black Friday deals even beat out the top October Prime Day offers.
Now that the Black Friday weekend is finally here, the Mashable Shopping team is tracking all of the best discounts so you don't have to, from now through Cyber Monday. We're refreshing our picks on a regular basis, so keep checking back.
SEE ALSO: The best Black Friday deals at Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and WalmartEven if you're brand loyal to Amazon (and we don't blame you), definitely keep an eye on our coverage of the other big retailers — Walmart, Best Buy, and Target are going hard, and Amazon doesn't always have the lowest prices. Another smart shopping strategy: Use the Amazon-friendly price tracker CamelCamelCamel to see if the current deal is a good one, or add the item to your wishlist to get notified as soon as it goes on sale.
Amazon's extended holiday return window applies to most items bought between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, but Apple products are a notable exception.
Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a ✨, while struck-through deals were either sold out or expired at the time of writing. Any deal marked with a 🔥 has dropped to a record-low price.
Best Black Friday Kindle deal Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32GB) 🔥 $154.99 at Amazon"The new batch of 2024 Kindles is the fastest yet, turning pages quickly and with less delay when switching between books in your library. The Kindle Paperwhite and Signature Edition both have bright, high-contrast screens, so you can read in any environment. While I prefer the Kindle Paperwhite over the Signature Edition most of the time, right now you can't beat the SE's Black Friday price." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter
The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is 23% off, bringing it down to $154.99. That's some big savings ($45 to be exact) on a device that's usually $200. You get everything you love in the Paperwhite — a lightweight and waterproof design — with the added benefits of double the storage, wireless charging, and auto-adjusting brightness.

For less than $20, why not add the convenience of being able to ask Alexa anything in any room of your home? Even if you can't see yourself being a full-screened Echo person, the Pop can subtly squeeze into any living situation. You won't even know it's there — until you're making dinner and can simply ask Alexa for measurement conversions out loud rather than actually figuring out the math. Then you'll definitely know it's there.

Read Mashable's full rev iew of the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2023).
"Amazon's Fire HD 10 tablet is a lot friendlier on the wallet than an iPad. With a 10.1-inch screen, it's similar in size, but it's also a fraction of the price. In our review of the Amazon Fire HD 10, we delighted in its lightweight design and long battery life. The biggest downside to Amazon's Fire tablets are the limited selection of apps offered, especially compared the the Google Play and Apple store.
"That being said, it's still not a bad choice for those who want a tablet for streaming or reading through the Kindle app — especially when the Fire HD 10 is down to its lowest price ever of $74.99. That's a generous 46% off for $65 in savings." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter

"I think of the Roborock Qrevo S as the diet version of my favorite self-emptying robot vacuum right now, the Roborock Qrevo Master. And unless you're open to spending $1,000 or more on a robot vacuum, you can probably live without the Qrevo Master's fluff features like a livestream pet camera or extending side mop — especially when, at this price, you could buy a Qrevo S for two stories of your home for less than the price of one on-sale Qrevo Master.
"Opting for the cheaper Qrevo is still a solid move: Compared to other 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop combos also on sale for Black Friday, the Qrevo S is one of the rare options under $500 that washes and dries its mopping pads." — Leah Stodart, Senior Shopping Reporter

For our top TV pick at Amazon, we previously went with this massive 75-incher from TCL — and there was a lot to love about it. But we know not everyone has the space for a TV that big, no matter how affordable. So as we round out Black Friday, we have to call your attention to another budget-friendly TCL TV, the 65-inch Class S5 Fire TV.
Don't get us wrong, this is definitely a basic TV. Its LED display isn't as sharp as its QLED or OLED competitors. However, $349.99 for a 65-inch TV seems, frankly, absurd. Despite all the inflation we've seen in recent years, 65-inch TVs remain stubbornly immune, and we're not complaining. This TV uses the Amazon Fire TV OS to connect you to your favorite streaming apps. You'll also get the benefit of an HDR PRO+ display, Dolby Atmos sound, and an Alexa voice remote.

Read Mashable's full review of the M3 Apple MacBook Air.
"Our reviewer was impressed by the M3 Air's peppy performance, satisfying keyboard, vivid webcam, and dual-display support (if you close its lid), rating it a 4.3/5. It may not look all that different from its older M-series predecessors — there is a new midnight finish option — but we think it's the best MacBook for most people, especially now that Apple's bumped its base RAM from 8GB to 16GB.
The starting configuration with 256GB of storage is on sale on Amazon for only $844, which is 23% off its $1,099 MSRP, an all-time low, and $5 better than Best Buy's Black Friday deal on the exact same MacBook. This also puts less than $100 between it and the M2 Air, so opting for the current-gen model over the cheapest model out there feels like an easier, more obvious choice." — Haley Henschel, Senior Shopping Reporter

Read Mashable's full review of the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7.
"Microsoft's slick Qualcomm-powered laptop lasted nearly 23 hours in our battery life test and one-upped the M3 MacBooks in our performance benchmark (both the Air and the Pro models). If Windows on Arm doesn't pose any compatibility issues for your go-to apps, we think it's the best Windows laptop for most people. It's a Mashable Choice Award-winner that got a 4.8/5 rating from our reviewer, which makes it one of our highest-rated laptops of 2024. (The Asus Zenbook Duo got the same score.)
The 13-inch model we tested came with a Snapdragon X Elite CPU, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. It usually retails for a hefty $1,999.99, but Amazon's Black Friday Week sale has brought it down to just $1,499 there. That's 25% off and a new all-time low. It was price-matched in the Microsoft Store at the time of writing, FYI, while Best Buy had it listed for $1,699.99.
If you don't want to spend that much, pared-down configurations start at $844.99." — Haley Henschel, Senior Shopping Reporter

"If you want headphones that have great noise cancellation and incredible (adjustable) sound, then the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones won't let you down. Out of the noise-cancelling headphones we've tested, these are our top pick for audiophiles. It can be a little annoying that the ear cups don't fold in, but with 30 hours of battery life, you'll probably find yourself wearing them more often than not. Dropped down to $297, these headphones are at a dollar cheaper than their Prime Day price." — Bethany Allard, Lead Shopping Reporter

Just released in August, this is the first time the new Google Pixel Watch 3 has ever gone on sale for less than $300. Unfortunately, the larger 45mm screen is still at full price, but even this 41mm model has a 10% larger display than the same size Pixel Watch 2, thanks to smaller bezels. The Pixel Watch 3's display is also just brighter and zippier in general, without sacrificing that 24-hour battery life.
On that screen, you'll be able to swipe through a more detailed running dashboard than the previous generation, check your heart rate changes from sleep, to regular daytime chilling, to a legit cardio workout, make payments via Google Wallet, and more.

If a multistyler like the Airwrap or FlexStyle feels like it'll be overkill for your hair routine, you might consider a nice (but still multifaceted) hair dryer like the Shark SpeedStyle. It's one of Mashable Lead Shopping Reporter Bethany Allard's favorite Dyson Supersonic dupes, particularly for smoothing — its QuickSmooth brush in particular not only dries hair quickly, but "keeps things from looking too windswept and more styled and volumized." This version also comes with a diffuser for defined curls, a concentrator for sleek, straight styles, and a FrizzFighter finishing tool.

UPDATE: Nov. 30, 2024, 1:45 p.m. EST This story has been updated with a deal on an annual Walmart+ membership, which comes with a free Paramount+ Essential subscription (a $59.99/year value), among other perks — including early access to the big-box store's Cyber Monday offers. We've also added a new FAQ about when most Black Friday streaming deals will end.

Black Friday is one of the best times (if not the best time) to sign up for streaming services, as you can typically score some serious savings on monthly membership fees. In years past, we've seen Hulu offer 99-cent subscriptions and Max offer six months of streaming for $2.99 per month. And we're pleased to report that those deals have been resurrected in 2024.
With streaming prices skyrocketing over the past year, we're actually a bit surprised at how impressive some of these Black Friday deals are — we suggest you lock in before prices go up again. If you're looking for a way to cut back on streaming costs, now's a great time to take advantage of a majorly discounted subscription. Just note that these deals are limited to new and returning subscribers only — as in, you once subscribed to Max, but cancelled your subscription months back.
And though Black Friday may be over, these subscriptions will persist just a little bit longer. (Most are live through Dec. 2.) Make sure to snatch them up before the deals vanish. If any other streaming deals surface, we'll be sure to update this with the latest and greatest ones. For now, here are all the best Black Friday streaming deals that are still live.
Note: All newly added or updated deals have been marked with a ✨, while struck-through deals were expired at the time of writing.
Best Black Friday streaming deal Opens in a new window Credit: Hulu / Disney+ Disney+ (with ads) and Hulu (with ads) $2.99/month for one year (save $96) Get Deal Why we like itNot only did Mashable's streaming reporter Christina Buff call this the best streaming deal of Black Friday. She also said it's her pick for the best streaming deal of the year. When you sign up for Hulu and Disney+ together (the ad-supported versions), you can save $96 on the regular price. Normally $10.99 per month, you can pay just $2.99 for both of these streaming heavy-hitters.
Best Black Friday Hulu deal Opens in a new window Credit: Hulu Hulu with ads monthly subscription $0.99/month for one year (save $108) Get Deal Why we like itHulu remains the top dog when it comes to Black Friday deals. For the second year in a row, the streamer is offering an entire year of Hulu with ads for just $0.99 per month. That's less than $12 total for an entire year of streaming. It's a bit surprising, honestly, as Hulu upped the cost of its basic plan just last month from $7.99 per month to $9.99 per month. In other words, the savings this year is even more impressive — 90% or $108 in total over 12 months. That's just ... insane. You can sign up at this sale price through Dec 2.
Hulu is the streaming home for three of our favorite shows of 2023, The Bear, Abbott Elementary, and Reservation Dogs, as well as our top favorite show of 2024, Shōgun. It's also where you'll find episodes of ABC shows the day after they air, like Dancing with the Stars, and Neon movies fresh out of the theaters, like Cuckoo (coming Dec. 17).
Best Peacock streaming deal Opens in a new window Credit: Peacock Peacock Premium $1.99/month for six months or $19.99/year (save up to $60) with codes REALDEALMONTHLY or REALDEAL Get Deal Why we like itPeacock drops one of the best streaming deals year after year during Black Friday season. And because of the streamer's price hike back in July, this year's deal is even better. Through Dec. 2, new and returning Peacock subscribers can score a year of ad-supported Peacock Premium for either $1.99/month for six months (reg. $7.99/month) or $19.99 for an entire year (reg. $79.99/year) using the codes REALDEALMONTHLY or REALDEAL, respectively. That's 75% in savings.
Peacock is home to classic TV hits like The Office and New Girl, Peacock Originals like Poker Face and Love Island USA, new theatrical releases from Universal like Abigail, The Fall Guy, and Twisters, as well as live sports, reality TV on Bravo, and more. At just $20 for the whole year, it's going to be a hard deal to beat this Black Friday.
Best Max streaming deal Opens in a new window Credit: Max Max With Ads $2.99/month for six months (save $42) Get Deal Why we like itMax has resurrected its exact Black Friday deal from last year, but that doesn't make us love it any less. If you're a new or returning HBO Max subscriber, you can score six months of the streamer's plan with ads for just $2.99 per month (instead of $9.99 per month) until Dec. 2. That saves you $42 total.
The Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streaming service is home to not only Warner Bros. films, but also new A24 theatrical releases. That means you have an insane array of hit films at your fingertips, including Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Civil War, Love Lies Bleeding, Dune, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Barbie, Elvis, The Iron Claw, and more. Max also offers its own original series that are definitely worth watching, like True Detective, The Last of Us, and Station Eleven, as well as the B/R Sports add-on for a limited time.
Best Prime Video add-on deal Opens in a new window Credit: Prime Video / Paramount+ Paramount+ with Showtime (Prime Video add-on) $2.99 per month for two months (save $10 per month) Get Deal Why we like itTypically $12.99 per month, you can score Paramount+ with Showtime for just $2.99 per month for your first two months as a Prime Video add-on. That saves you $20 total and gets you unlimited, ad-free access to the entire Paramount+ catalog, plus Showtime originals and movies (like Yellowjackets and The Curse), live TV with CBS, and college football.
Paramount+ is home to NFL on CBS, UEFA Champions League matches, CBS originals like Ghosts, Survivor, and Big Brother, old Nickelodeon and MTV shows, and Paramount's latest theatrical releases like A Quiet Place: Day One and Smile 2 (coming soon). For just under $6, you can binge a whole lot of stuff over the next two months. After the promo period, the cost will jump back up to $12.99 per month, so be sure to cancel before that if you want to avoid charges. If you're not a Prime member, Paramount+ is also offering the same deal on their standalone streaming service.

Best Apple deal Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple MacBook Air, 13-inch (M3, 16GB RAM, 256GB) $844.00 at AmazonRead Mashable's full review of the M3 Apple MacBook Air.
"Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon was impressed by the M3 Air's peppy performance, satisfying keyboard, vivid webcam, and dual-display support (if you close its lid), rating it a 4.3/5. It may not look all that different from its older M-series predecessors — there is a new midnight finish option — but we think it's the best MacBook for most people, especially now that Apple's bumped its base RAM from 8GB to 16GB.
The starting configuration with 256GB of storage is on sale on Amazon for only $844, which is 23% off its $1,099 MSRP, its biggest discount ever, and $5 better than Best Buy's Black Friday deal on the exact same MacBook. This also puts less than $100 between it and the M2 Air, so opting for the current-gen model over the cheapest model out there feels like an easier, more obvious choice. Just note that delivery times for all finishes are pushed into December and January." — Haley Henschel, Senior Shopping Reporter

Opting for the cheaper Qrevo is still a solid move: Compared to other 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop combos also on sale for Black Friday, the Qrevo S is one of the rare options under $500 that washes and dries its mopping pads." — Leah Stodart, Senior Shopping Reporter

"Bose makes some of the best headphones we've tested. The brand's QuietComfort line-up strikes the genius balance of sound quality and comfort. While the QuietComfort Ultra headphones and earbuds are the most elevated Bose models, the basic QuietComforts are still great.
If you don't need spatial audio, but you do want sound that will make your music sound better, elevating drop beats and sick synth, go for the Bose QuietComfort headphones. The power button on the side is responsive, and the battery is insanely long. I wore these while taking the train from Boston to New York and by the time I reached my destination, they still had 50% battery life.
Normally, $349, the Bose QuietComfort headphones are down to $199. That saves you $150 for 43% savings." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter

Read Mashable's full review of the 13-inch Microsoft Surface Laptop 7.
"Microsoft's Copilot+ PC has an even longer battery life than the new M4 MacBook Pros — it lasted nearly 23 hours in our testing — and it comes with AI features that 'make Windows fun again,' Gedeon wrote. She gave it a 4.8/5; it's a Mashable Choice Award winner and our current favorite laptop for most people, barring any app compatibility issues.
The upgraded configuration that Gedeon tested is a 13-inch model featuring a Snapdragon X Elite processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of SSD storage. It usually retails for $1,999.99, but Amazon and the Microsoft Store both have it listed for $1,499.99, or 25% off. That's its biggest discount to date." — Haley Henschel, Senior Shopping Reporter

"An iPad under $200 is a true gift this holiday season. Apple's 9th generation model is down to $199.99 at Best Buy, less than a dollar short of its lowest price ever. While there might be newer generations available, this is the most budget-friendly model, especially now that it's $129 off.
The 9th generation Apple iPad comes with the A13 bionic chip, which provides plenty of processing power for streaming, gaming, or working. The 10.2-inch retina display gives plenty of space for your creative pursuits, as it's compatible with the first generation of Apple Pencil.
Black Friday is the right time to shop, as you can find the Apple iPad 9th generation for 39% off." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter

"The new batch of 2024 Kindles are the fastest yet, turning pages quickly and with less delay when switching between books in your library. The Kindle Paperwhite and Signature Edition both have bright, high-contrast screens, so you can read in any environment. While I prefer the Kindle Paperwhite over the Signature Edition most of the time, right now you can't beat the SE's Black Friday price.
The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is 23% off, bringing it down to $154.99. That's some big savings ($45 to be exact) on a device that's usually $200. You get everything you love in the Paperwhite, lightweight and waterproof design, with the added benefits of double the storage, wireless charging, and auto-adjusting brightness." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter

"The line-up of Amazon Echo devices is sprawling. You can find everything from a multitasking smart speaker to a touchscreen smart home hub. The absolute best deal on Echo devices right now is on the Amazon Echo Pop. This small but mighty device with a quality speaker and built-in assistant so you can play music just by calling out to Alexa.
Currently, it's down to $17.99 — its lowest price ever. That knocks 55% off the regular price for $22 in savings. We expect this price to hang around through Black Friday weekend." — Samantha Mangino, Shopping Reporter

"Walmart is famous for its Black Friday TV doorbusters, and this year the big-box store went hard. This is simply the cheapest TV deal we're currently seeing in the 55-inch size category, and the competition is pretty darn strong. Best Buy's least-expensive contender is $219.99, while Amazon's low-end option costs $299.99 — though both of those models have nicer, brighter QLED displays.
Walmart also has a 55-inch QLED Roku TV on sale for $288 (normally $348). Best Buy's cheaper QLED model is a Google TV, so the one you ultimately add to your cart will come down to your smart TV platform preference." — Haley Henschel, Senior Shopping Reporter

"I crowned the Dyson V12 Detect Slim Dyson's best bang for your buck when it was full price. Let that sink in while reading that the V12 Detect Slim is now $250 cheaper — up for grabs for less than $400 now — thanks to the Black Friday sale happening at Dyson's website.
For just $50 more than the Dyson V11's Black Friday price, the V12 Detect Slim brings aboard Dyson's absolute best feature: a green laser that highlights all the dust on the floor that you definitely would have missed otherwise. That's a no-brainer in my eyes. For plush carpeting, a motorized cleaning head is also included, and all debris collected is sent through a HEPA filter." — Leah Stodart, Senior Shopping Reporter

"We’re shocked by how many mattress deals are popping off this year. While there are great discounts across the board, the Nectar Premier Memory Foam Mattress (Queen) has our vote as the best deal on Black Friday.
This 13-inch-thick mattress has twice as much pressure-relieving memory foam as the Nectar Classic, 60 percent more cooling, and is currently 50% off. With five layers of premium OEKO-TEX-certified materials, this mattress will provide an incredibly comfortable and supportive night's sleep. There’s also a 365-day trial and forever warranty, so if you don’t absolutely love it, you can return it." — Tabitha Britt, Mashable Contributor

"Hulu remains the top dog when it comes to Black Friday deals. In other words, the savings this year are even more impressive — 90% or $108 in total over 12 months.
17)." — Christina Buff, Mashable Contributor

"It's safe to say that the Wicked craze is in full swing. Whether you're holding space for all the memes the press tour is delivering or already ready for your second in-theater watch, have you considered reading the source material? And we're not talking about The Wizard of Oz.
The musical is based on Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, the novel by Gregory Maguire, and if you, or the biggest Wicked fan in your life, are eager to dive deeper into the world, now is a great time to pick up a copy. For Black Friday, Walmart is offering 50% off the novel, bringing it down to $10.

Strands requires the player to perform a twist on the classic word search. Every single letter in the grid will be part of an answer. Not the day you're after? Here's the solution to yesterday's Strands.
This year, I've tested my way through the most popular e-readers. Amazon dropped a new line-up of Kindles just after Prime Big Deals Days in October, so I loaded my library into a new batch of devices, basking in the new devices' speed and high-contrast display. However, no matter how many Kindles I test, I'm always thinking about the Kobo Libra Colour. It's now $20 off for Black Friday — a rare deal.
Opens in a new window Credit: Rakuten Kobo Libra Colour $199.99 at RakutenThe Kobo Libra has perfected the e-reader design. The seven-inch screen comes with both adjustable brightness and warmth, which I loved as an evening reader, not wanting to burn my eyes with blue light. If you're an annotator, it's stylus compatible, helping you highlight passages or even journal on the Kobo. Not to mention it's waterproof, for beachside reading.
Read and write in color with the Kobo Libra. Credit: Bethany Allard / MashableBut even better, the Kobo comes with page-turning buttons. While the screen is perfectly responsive to swipes, the buttons let you read one-handed. And unlike Kindles, the Kobo rotates the screen so you can read and write in landscape or portrait.
Plus, the Kobo Libra offers color displays, ideal if you want to highlight or write in different colors. However, I enjoyed it for reading graphic novels on the Kobo. And while Amazon now offers a color e-reader, it will cost you about $60 more than the Kobo at full price.
It's not without its faults, Amazon still has the upper hand on palm rejection and processing speed, but if you're looking to escape Amazon's grip on the e-reader market, Rakuten's e-reader provides a worthy alternative. Kobo's e-readers are rarely on sale, but this Black Friday, you can find it for $20 off, bringing it under $200. For $199.99, enjoy the Kobo Libra Colour, a great e-reader with no Amazon affiliation.

The retailer put its flagship devices like Kindles and Echos on sale for record low prices. While Amazon has officially tossed Black Friday to the wayside to make room for Cyber Monday, they aren't letting up on the good prices. In fact, the deals on Amazon Echo devices just got sweeter.
Now when you buy two or more select Echo devices, you'll get $5 off. This deal does come with some stipulations. It's available on three models, the Echo Pop, Show 5, and Spot, and you can't mix and match. This deal is only applicable when you purchase two of the same device. To take advantage of the savings, make sure to click the 'redeem' button on the product page before heading to check out.
Echo devices are one of our favorite ways to upgrade to a smarter home. Not only do they make great speakers, but they can help set routines, whether that be automatically adjusting your smart thermostat in the morning or evening, or turning on the lights right before you come home.
And even if you don't need an Echo in every room, buying in bulk might just help you check a few people off your holiday shopping list at once.

This deal is so good you could buy two or three of these Hisense TVs for the price of an equivalent TV from a different brand. For example, the next best deal on 75-inch QLEDs we found is running for $999 — roughly twice the price.

Here are 11 Amazon Cyber Monday deals we recommend shopping:
Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac Opens in a new window Credit: Logitech Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac $84.99 at Amazon"My work from home life can be organized into two distinct periods: Before the Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac and After the Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac. When I bought it, it felt excessive to spend $100 on a mouse. But the comfort, the perfectly muted click sound, the 2.4 GHz dongle that allows me to connect it to my Bluetooth-less gaming PC and my work computer via Bluetooth and switch between the two effortlessly makes it worth every penny — and especially so if you can grab it for $15 off." —Bethany Allard, Lead Shopping Reporter
Loftie alarm clock Opens in a new window Credit: Loftie Loftie smart alarm clock $119.99 at Amazon"OK, I know this is an incredibly expensive alarm clock, even on sale. However, I’m also a firm believer in investing in the items you use every single day (see: the Logitech mouse blurb). As someone who is a.) very much not a morning person despite her best efforts and b.) works East Coast hours, I decided to bite the bullet and get this alarm clock a few months back. While I got mine for a bit cheaper as it was refurbished and on sale, after months of using it, I would happily buy it for $120. The alarm sounds are so much less abrasive than a standard iPhone alarm (which made me realize how much the iPhone alarm sounds made me feel like the worst version of myself first thing in the morning). The app is easy to use, but you also don’t need it to use the clock to its fullest. Plus, it looks really good on my nightstand." —BA
Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones Opens in a new window Credit: Bose Bose QuietComfort Ultra noise-cancelling headphones $299.00 at Amazon"While these aren’t the headphones I use personally, I spent a few months with the Bose QuietComfort Ultras last year when I tested them out for Mashable’s headphone coverage. I wore them through entire work days, on plane rides, and even in a pinch, to edit a couple of podcast episodes. My lasting impression of them is that they are the most comfortable over-ear headphones I’ve ever used — an opinion that Mashable Shopping Reporter Sam Mangino and Lead Shopping Reporter Dylan Haas agree with. I own Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones for my daily use, and though I think the Sonys are better with sound quality and switching between multiple devices better, the Bose’s are definitely more suited to all day wear, while still offering solid sound quality and noise cancellation. And at $299, they’ve hit a new record low for Black Friday (the Sony headphones, on the other hand, is good but not exceptional, having dropped down to their $298 sale price for every other shopping holiday this year)." —BA
Dreame Gleam hair dryer Opens in a new window Credit: Dreame Dreame Gleam hair dryer $64.99 at Amazon"It’s officially a thing that vacuum companies also make hair dryers, and after testing the Dreame Gleam for Mashable’s Dyson Supersonic dupes guide, I’m glad this trend exists. This hair dryer is the most affordable dupe we’ve spotted, coming with two speeds and three heat settings. It’s lightweight, small enough that it won’t be a pain to travel with or store when you’re not using it, and does really well at drying hair in a short period of time. It sticks to the basics, coming with only one attachment and no special hair care settings you might find on pricier dryers, but if you’ve been meaning to upgrade from an older dryer and aren’t all that into the idea of dropping a few hundred bucks, the Dreame Gleam is a great budget option at full price and an even better one at 35% off." —BA
Philips Hue smart bulbs Opens in a new window Credit: Philips Hue Philips Hue A19 white and color smart bulbs $75.98 at Amazon"If you buy one thing this Black Friday, let it be Philips Hue bulbs. I don't think I'm being dramatic when I say having smart lights in my home has changed my life. I pop these suckers into every socket I can so I never have to use The Big Light. I control my lights from my phone or with Alexa commands, and I have a world of colors and scenes at my fingertips. I love using the natural light setting when I'm working from home or creating moody red or purple lighting while watching movies. I would (and have) 100 percent pay full price for Hue bulbs, so I without a doubt recommend buying them while they're on sale for Black Friday. P.S. Amazon has them for $4 cheaper than Philips' official website." —Miller Kern, Deputy Shopping and Reviews Editor
Amazon Echo Spot Opens in a new window Credit: Amazon Amazon Echo Spot $44.99 at Amazon"I live in an Echo household. I'm obsessed with my Echo Show 10 in my kitchen/living room area, and my Echo Show 5 is a staple on my desk. I upgraded from a studio to a one-bedroom apartment a couple of months ago, so I needed another Echo speaker for my bedroom. The Echo Spot is a perfect addition to my nightstand. I can see the time and weather at a glance, and the audio quality is surprisingly good for such a small speaker. Plus, I've connected it with my Philips Hue bulbs, so I can be cozy in bed and ask Alexa to turn the lights off or on." —MK
Kindle Paperwhite Opens in a new window Credit: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024) $129.99 at Amazon"I'll be honest, I haven't tried out the brand-new Kindle Paperwhite, but I do use my previous-gen Paperwhite religiously. (FWIW, my colleague, Samantha Mangino, tested the new Paperwhite and said it's the only Kindle you need.) I never thought I would be an e-reader person, but I'm fully on the dark side now and would recommend the Kindle Paperwhite to everyone. It's super portable, this new model is even faster than the last, and it's waterproof — which means I get to take it to the beach, pool, and bath without worries. Now, $30 off is not a spectacular deal, but Kindle deals haven't been mind-blowing in quite some time. With their growing popularity in the last couple of years, Amazon has gotten stingy with Kindle discounts. So, take any deal you can get with these e-readers." —MK
Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones Opens in a new window Credit: Sony Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones $298.00 at Amazon"I've tested my fair share of headphones for Mashable, and there are others that I like more for specific features, but if I were to recommend one solid, all-around pair of noise-cancelling headphones, it would easily be Sony's flagship WH-1000XM5s. They're comfortable and stylish, and Sony's audio quality is insanely hard to beat. The noise cancellation is solid, too. You could definitely opt for a more expensive pair of headphones with the Sonos Ace or Dyson OnTrac, both of which I tested and loved. But for the average person, the XM5s are some of the best overall headphones you can buy. FYI, the smoky pink color is ever-so-slightly cheaper at $297.48." —MK
Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed gaming earbuds Opens in a new window Credit: Razer Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed wireless multi-platform gaming earbuds $99.99 at Amazon"I love a comfy over-ear gaming headset, but sometimes it can feel just a little too cumbersome to wear one for hours on end. That’s why I’m extremely thankful for these gaming earbuds from Razer, which give my sore ears a break from one of my many traditional headsets. They work basically just like AirPods, have pretty decent ANC, and are extremely low-latency for a pair of wireless gaming earbuds. My friends tell me they sound great on the receiving end, too!" —Dylan Haas, Lead Shopping Reporter
TheraGun Pro massage gun Opens in a new window Credit: Therabody TheraGun Pro Get Deal"I train Muay Thai at least three days per week, and as I get older, it’s getting tougher on my body. After suffering a hip injury last year, I thought I’d have to take extended time off from my favorite hobby, but thanks to my Theragun Pro (and some physical therapy), I was able to recover much faster and without as much pain. Now, I use it every time I warm up before training to loosen up my hips, and it helps me feel like I’m actually 29 years old instead of 80." —DH
Zojirushi rice cooker Opens in a new window Credit: Zojirushi Zojirushi rice cooker (NS-LGC05XB) $135.59 at Amazon"I recently got this rice cooker as a wedding gift from a friend, and it has very quickly become my favorite kitchen appliance in my home. It’s so easy to use, and my rice comes out literally perfect every time now. I also love that it plays 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' each time I start it up. Just adorable! Now that I’ve experienced the Zojirushi magic for myself, I fear I can never go back. I can’t believe I was ever making rice in a pot. That sucked so bad in hindsight." —DH

Bluesky Social is having a moment, but that new influx of users is creating an impersonation problem. Thus, the decentralized platform is rolling out a "more aggressive" policy on parody accounts that aren’t clearly labeled.
SEE ALSO: Bluesky has growing pains. Here's what it can learn from X/TwitterIn a thread on the platform's safety account, Bluesky stated, "Parody, satire, or fan accounts are allowed on Bluesky, but they must clearly label themselves in both the display name and bio to help others know the account isn't official."
Additionally, the platform is cracking down on "identity churning," where accounts create impersonation profiles to gain followers and then rebrand themselves entirely.
The changes to Bluesky’s terms of service aren’t without reason. In his newsletter Faked Up, Alexios Mantzarlis, director of the Security Trust and Safety Initiative at Cornell Tech, noted that "44 percent of the top 100 most-followed accounts on Bluesky had at least one doppelganger."
Bluesky's unconventional approach to verification has become a fertile ground for copycats, especially as celebrities and political figures migrate over. Without a traditional verification process, users must "self-verify" with custom domain names. This manual process requires access by adding a string of text to the DNS record associated with the domain. For instance, major accounts like the New York Times use their own domains, such as @nytimes.com, instead of the default @person.bsky.social.
This has created a new problem of "handle squatting" as outlets that do switch to custom names often have to squat on their old accounts to prevent impersonators from taking them.
