Every day is a big one for the 2026 World Cup, but today's action features some particularly exciting group games — fixtures that soccer fans won't want to miss.
Today, June 23, sees Portugal and England take part in two of four scheduled games. Both teams are considered contenders to go far, but Portugal had a tough start while England were on fire.
It all kicks off today at 1 p.m. ET, with action going through the afternoon and evening. Here's everything you need to know to tune in live today.
FIFA World Cup schedule today: June 23Group K: Portugal vs. Uzbekistan (Houston Stadium) — kickoff at 1 p.m. ET
Group L: England vs. Ghana (Boston Stadium) — kickoff at 4 p.m. ET
Group L: Panama vs. Croatia (Toronto Stadium) — kickoff at 7 p.m. ET
Group J: Colombia vs. DR Congo (Guadalajara Stadium) — kickoff at 10 p.m. ET
Portugal entered the World Cup as one of the favorites to win thanks to a superstar squad led by Cristiano Ronaldo. But they faltered in the opening game against lower-ranked DR Congo, a game that ended 1-1. It was a poor start for CR7, who has failed to score in 10 straight international games. The smart money is on Portugal turning things around against Uzbekistan — but the group stage is always full of surprises.
Live coverage will be on FOX and Fox One. Peacock will carry the live Spanish-language coverage.
Watch England vs. GhanaEngland overcame a defensively weak first half against Croatia and scored a decisive win, putting to rest any questions over their squad selection. Fans would expect them to beat Ghana and secure a spot in the knockout stage — particularly with goal scorers Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, and Marcus Rashford in good form.
Live coverage will be on FOX and Fox One. Peacock will carry the live Spanish-language coverage.
Watch Panama vs. CroatiaCroatia are always a team to watch at big tournaments. Led by Luka Modric, they reached the final and semi-final at the last two World Cups. But they suffered a morale-crushing loss to England in their opening game and need to beat Panama to stand a chance of progressing beyond the group stage. Is this generation of Croatian players past their best? Or will they prove that the England loss was just a blip?
Live coverage will be on FOX and Fox One. Peacock will carry the live Spanish-language coverage.
Watch Colombia vs. DR CongoColombia scored big in their opening game, beating Uzbekistan 3-1, while DR Congo surprised fans by holding Portugal to a draw. That makes this a crucial group fixture. Colombia will be the favorites here, but DR Congo have already defied the odds once in this tournament. As Cape Verde have proved against Spain and Uruguay, it's possible for lightning to strike twice.
Live coverage will be on FS1 and Fox One. Peacock will carry the live Spanish-language coverage.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage continues. Every national team has their eye on advancing to the knockout stages. Next up in Group K is Colombia vs. DR Congo.
Colombia had a hot start to the tournament, beating Uzbekistan 3-1. DR Congo, meanwhile, surprised Ronaldo's Portugal by holding them to a 1-1 draw — a game that fans assumed Portugal would breeze through untroubled. DR Congo would have a very real chance of progressing to the knockout stages if they beat Colombia. Colombia would definitely advance if they can win this matchup.

It was a slightly shaky first half, with England twice going ahead thanks to Harry Kane goals — but they twice allowed Croatia to equalize. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is now a few days into the second round of group games. And for some countries it's already do or die.
Both Panama and Croatia took losses in their Group L opening games. Panama lost 1-0 to Ghana, and Croatia lost 4-2 to England. Croatia are a solid team though, led by superstar midfielder Luka Modric. Can Croatia get back on track by beating Panama? A loss for either team could see them crash out of the whole tournament.

Cristiano Ronaldo has had a tough start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Portugal were held to a 0-0 draw against DR Congo in their opening match, a fixture that most soccer fans expected Portugal to easily win.
With Ronaldo's GOAT rival Lionel Messi scoring a hattrick in Argentina's opening game — and fellow superstar players Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane all scoring — Ronaldo will desperately want to end his streak of 10 games without scoring. Now Portugal face Uzbekistan in the second round of group games, which should be a walkover for Ronaldo's team. But anything can happen at the World Cup.

VidCon 2026 is nearly here, and it's time for me to pack my bags.
Though I'll be spending June 24 to 27 asking creators all about what's in their bags, naturally, I have to come prepared with some gear of my own.
SEE ALSO: Why VidCon still matters in 2026So what does a reporter bring in preparation for the biggest content creation meetup of the year? Obviously, my work-issued laptop is an essential, but I have a few other tech and lifestyle favorites to round out my packing list as I head to the convention for the second time.
Noise-cancelling headphonesAs a headphones reviewer, I get my pick of the lot when deciding which pair to bring with me to VidCon. The Sony WH-1000XM6s stand out because they have excellent noise cancellation, are comfortable enough to wear during hours of listening back to interviews and locking in for writing, and the ear cups fold up, making them a great portable option.
Opens in a new window Credit: Sony Sony WH-1000XM6 $398 at AmazonI could fight for an open outlet in the Anaheim Convention Center. Or I could have a way to charge my laptop, charger, headphones, and a colleague's device all at the same time within arm's reach at any moment. The latter is by far the more appealing option, which is why I'm bringing along the Anker laptop power bank.
Opens in a new window Credit: Anker Anker Laptop Power Bank $119.99 at AmazonWhere I go, my Owala FreeSip goes, and VidCon is no exception. Trust me when I say this is not a water bottle that's pure internet hype — in fact, it's a Mashable shopping team favorite. The FreeSip lid that allows you to use it as both a straw and an open-mouth bottle is the exact versatility I look for in a bottle. Though the 32-ounce bottle is a little on the large side for taking on the go, it does mean that I won't have to go looking for a new source of water all that often.
Opens in a new window Credit: Owala Owala FreeSip (32 ounce) $34.99 at AmazonI have one of those brains that requires me to write with pen and paper in order to organize my thoughts. (I literally wrote out this very list in a notebook before I got to typing.) As a lifelong stationery lover, I am picky about which notebooks I use. For VidCon, I'll be bringing along my B6 Stalogy, which lies flat, has ultra-smooth paper, and is compact enough to take on the go, without being too small as to make the writing experience cramped. The light blue version I have is currently sold out at JetPens, but it is available in black and red.

After owning it for nearly two years, I can definitely say the Kobo Libra Colour has bewitched me, body and soul. Don't believe me? I bought this e-reader for myself after reviewing it back in 2024, and my colleague, Samantha Mangino, calls it the best color e-reader on the market. I'm personally a fan of having buttons to change the pages (which none of the Kindle models do), and the shape is the perfect ergonomic fit. And when I'm winding down from a long day and am simply too tired to hold my e-reader, the Kobo remote works perfectly.

While testing tablets, I've learned a few things. Yes, iPads really are that good, but also, Android tablets are vastly underrated. With Prime Day almost here, running June 23 to 26, I'm focused on which tablets will go on sale. Usually, iPads take big price cuts. Plus, I want to see premium Android tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra reach new all-time low prices.
But what's on sale now? Not much. Ahead of Prime Day, we're tracking tablet deals and found some deals to shop ahead of time. These deals are just OK, but if you're eager to shop now, these are the best tablets on sale at the moment.

Everyone knows that Amazon loves to discount its own devices during its Prime Day events. So far, though, the early Prime Day tablet deals are a little thin on the ground, at least where Amazon's Fire Tablet line is concerned. There's one excellent standout right now, and it's the Amazon Fire 7 Kids tablet at 50% off, which is a solid drop on a family-friendly pick anyone could use.
Beyond that, most of what we're seeing on Fire tablets is bundle-based rather than straight markdowns, so the value you'll get per bundle depends on whether you actually want the extras. But you can expect the selection to widen dramatically as we get closer to the main event.
Mashable's team of shopping experts is tracking the best early Prime Day Fire tablet deals as they land. We'll likely see even more pop up in the next week or so, so keep an eye out for additional savings.

You may have not needed a new TV during Black Friday, or even during Amazon's Spring Sale. June through August is the most popular time to move on a TV, so Prime Day is a super convenient time to buy.
If you're not sure what size TV to get, the internet will probably tell you that 65 inches is the most palatable size. That's big enough to be seen from 10 feet away, but not so massive that you'll get a headache in a close-knit living space. A 65-inch TV is also more likely to fit comfortably on the average TV stand than if you bumped up to 75 inches.

Best 65-inch TV deal ahead of Prime Day TCL 65-inch Q8ML Mini LED QLED 4K TV $1,499.99 at AmazonJust released in April 2026, the TCL Q8ML is the successor to TCL's popular QM8K TV. The single letter change in the title doesn't quite cover the difference in lighting tech here. The SQD Q8ML series features "super quantum dot mini LEDs," which are essentially an extra-bright version of regular quantum dots that are able to reproduce 100 percent of the BT2020 color spectrum. In dark rooms, the 4,000 local dimming zones packed into the Q8ML provide much sharper contrast than a regular mini LED TV.
If you're curious, you can snag the 65-inch TCL Q8ML for $1,799.99 at Amazon ahead of Prime Day — nearly 30 percent off its debut price of $2,499.99. Your purchase of any TCL SQD TV also unlocks a free 55-inch QLED TV from TCL worth $318.
