The world of portable power stations is expanding by the day. Since things are getting crowded, it can be a challenge to find the right model for your power needs. If you're looking to keep your home online during the next power outage, check out this excellent bundle deal at Amazon.

As of March 3, the Anker Solix F3800 portable power station, BP3800 Expansion Battery, and 400W solar panel bundle is on sale at Amazon for $3,598.98, marked down from the list price of $7,397. On its own, the Anker Solix F3800 is a solid option for powering up homes during an outage. It packs in a hefty 3.84kWh from long-lasting LiFePO4 batteries, and you'll get a 6,000W AC output. Get Samsungs stunning QN90F Neo QLED TV for its cheapest price ever

SAVE $502: As of March 3, the Samsung 43-inch QN90F Neo QLED 4K TV is on sale at Amazon for just $797.99. Usually $1,299.99, that's a savings of over $500 or nearly 40%.

If a fancy TV is on your wishlist, but you lack the space for a full 65-incher, Samsung's QN90F Neo QLED TV comes in a small 43-inch package. Plus, it's currently over $500 off.

As of March 3, the Samsung 43-inch QN90F Neo QLED 4K TV is on sale for just $797.99 at Amazon. That's a whopping $502 or nearly 40% off its list price. While Amazon has it originally listed for $1,197.99, that actually cuts the deal short a bit. If you check the actual list price at Samsung's own website, it's about $100 more. According to our favorite price-tracking tool, this is also a new all-time low price for this particular model.

Our sister site PCMag wrote in their review for the 65-inch version that the QN90F "is visually stunning and packed with features." However, it failed to secure the title of their Editors' Choice LED TV due to its extremely high cost. With this Amazon deal, that price is a whole lot more palatable.

As Mashable's shopping reporter Leah Stodart explains, "Neo QLED is really just Samsung's proprietary term for QLED paired with Mini LED." Translation: it features a panel of quantum dots over a bunch of tiny LED bulbs (rather than a basic LED panel). The result is a stunning display with spectacular color accuracy, deep black levels, and extremely impressive contrast that'll hold up in all kinds of lightning conditions.

Theres a 32-inch TCL QLED TV on sale for $99.99 at Best Buy — snag it on March 3 only

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 11:09

SAVE $100: The 32-inch TCL Q3K QLED FHD TV is on sale for $99.99 as one of Best Buy's March 3 deals of the day. That's $100 off the originally $199.99 price tag.

Opens in a new window Credit: TCL TCL 32-inch Q3K QLED FHD Google TV $99.99 at Best Buy
$199.99 Save $100.00   Get Deal

There's simply too much good TV coming out recently to watch half of it on a crappy bedroom TV. (And Heated Rivalry and Bridgerton aren't exactly living room shows.) Upgrading doesn't have to involve choosing the cheapest small 4K TV — $100 will get you a 32-inch TCL QLED FHD TV if you grab it at Best Buy on March 3.

The TCL Q3K is a prime example of a budding trend I'm seeing: Small room TVs that are budget-friendly, but not a total throwaway purchase. The gorgeous 32-inch Hisense Deco TV is another good example, but its Best Buy sale price of $199.99 makes the $99.99 TCL deal look even better.

SEE ALSO: TCL QM6K mini LED review: An impressive TV between the super cheap and super expensive

You don't come by a TV that's QLED but not 4K often. But if we're trying to keep costs down for a TV that's not your main one, the choice to sacrifice resolution (the 4K part) for a layer of quantum dots (the QLED part) makes sense.

Let's say most of your bedroom, kitchen, or garage TV watching happens while doing tasks in the daytime or casually at night before bed — you probably aren't that likely to notice slightly less crisp resolution if 4K is missing, but you'd definitely notice if the screen is borderline unwatchable in sunlight because the dim screen can't handle glare. The brightness, boosted color saturation, and contrast that QLED brings make it the obvious choice for bright and dark rooms over a regular LED TV, even if it's 4K.

How to preorder Apples new M5 MacBook Airs

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 11:05

Apple has lightly refreshed its MacBook Air with the M5 chip, and it'll be available for preorder starting tomorrow (March 4) ahead of its formal launch on March 11. This story will be updated with preorder listings from the Apple Store and its retail partners as soon as they're live.

The M5 MacBook Air will be available in 13- and 15-inch sizes, with starting prices of $1,099 and $1,299, respectively. Those numbers dip to $999 and $1,199 with Apple's education discount.

Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple MacBook Airs (M5) Starting at $1,099 Learn More

The base M5 MacBook Airs come with 512GB of storage, or double that of their M4 predecessors. (The 256GB configuration option is no longer available.) They'll max out with 4TB of storage, up from a limit of 2TB.

Notably, the base M5 MacBook Airs are $100 cheaper than the M4 models with 512GB of storage, making them a better value than before. In the previous generation, you'd pay $1,199 or $1,399 for that much SSD space.

Here's a complete rundown of the new M5 MacBook Airs' spec sheets. Chip and storage aside, their only other upgrade is a connectivity bump to WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Otherwise, they're basically the same laptops as the M4 MacBook Airs (which isn't necessarily a bad thing — we loved them).

  • Sizes: 13- and 15-inch models

  • Starting prices: $1,099 and $1,299, respectively

  • Processor: M5 with 10-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU

  • Display: Liquid Retina display with 60Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness

  • Memory: 16GB to 32GB RAM

  • Storage: 512GB to 4TB SSD

  • Connectivity: WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6

  • Battery life: Up to 18 hours

  • Webcam: 12MP Center Stage camera

  • Ports: Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, headphone jack

  • Colors: Sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver

Preorders for Apple's just-announced iPhone 17e, M4 iPad Air, Studio Displays, and upgraded MacBook Pros will also open tomorrow. Additionally, the company is expected to announce a new budget MacBook that costs around $599 to $799.

Apple announces new MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, raises MacBook starting prices

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:40

Apple's big week continues as the company dropped a slew of new products on Tuesday.

The biggest release? A new MacBook Pro with Apple's newest and most powerful chipsets, the M5 Pro and M5 Max.

The MacBook Pro with the M5 chip came out back in October, so the release of the M5 Pro and M5 Max was long overdue based on Apple's previous release cycles with its in-house Silicon chipset. Mashable gave the MacBook Pro M5 a stellar review, and these long-awaited MacBook Pros with the M5 Pro and M5 Max are basically just more powerful versions of that device for professional users with advanced computing needs.

MacBooks are getting more expensive

Before getting into specs, the first thing we should mention is that Apple has surprisingly raised MacBook Pro prices across the board. We're not just talking about the new MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips being more expensive than their predecessors with equivalent silicon. Today, Apple has also effectively raised the starting price of the MacBook Pro M5 that was released in October.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 previously had a starting price of $1,599. Apple has raised the price by $100, bringing the new starting price to $1,699. Thankfully, Apple isn't asking consumers to just pay more for the same device. Apple has done away with the 512GB of storage option, making 1TB of storage the new base model. So, while Apple fans have to pay $100 more for a MacBook Pro, they're now getting double the storage.

Now, as for the newest members of the MacBook Pro family, the 14-inch M5 Pro starts at $2,199, which is $200 more than its M4 Pro predecessor, and comes with a 15-core CPU and a 16-core GPU. The 16-inch M5 Pro starts at $2,699, also $200 more than its M4 Pro predecessor, and comes with an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU. Both the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro M5 Pros come with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage in their base models.

By far the most expensive models are the ultra-powerful MacBook Pros with the M5 Max chipset. The 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 Max starts at $3,599, and the 16-inch M5 Max starts at a whopping $3,899. Both base models come with an 18-core CPU and a 32-core GPU and include 36GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.

MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max: Specs and performance upgrades Credit: Apple

According to Apple, the new MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max altogether provide up to four times the AI performance compared to the equivalent M4 chipsets and up to eight times the AI performance when compared to the M1 chips, Apple's first Silicon chipset, which came out in 2020.

The new MacBook Pros also include Apple's wireless networking chip called N1, which brings improved performance and reliability for wireless connections over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Apple says that the new MacBook Pros also boast two times faster SSD performance and up to 24 hours of battery life.

Now, as for the M5 Pro and M5 Max specific upgrades, users will see huge performance boosts in AI processing, video editing, 3D modeling, gaming, and more.

Apple says 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M5 Pro will see:

  • Up to 7.8x faster AI image generation performance when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and up to 3.7x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Pro.

  • Up to 6.9x faster LLM prompt processing when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and up to 3.9x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Pro.

  • Up to 5.2x faster 3D rendering in Maxon Redshift when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and up to 1.4x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Pro.

  • Up to 1.6x faster gaming performance with ray tracing in games like Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition when compared to MacBook Pro with M4 Pro.

As for the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with the M5 Max chip, Apple says that users will see:

  • Up to 8x faster AI image generation performance when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Max and up to 3.8x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Max.

  • Up to 6.7x faster LLM prompt processing when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Max and up to 4x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Max.

  • Up to 5.4x faster video effects rendering performance in Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve Studio when compared to MacBook Pro with M1 Max and up to 3x faster than MacBook Pro with M4 Max.

  • Up to 3.5x faster AI video-enhancing performance in Topaz Video when compared to MacBook Pro with M4 Max.

Along with Tuesday's MacBook Pro announcements, Apple also unveiled a new MacBook Air with the M5 chipset and a new Apple Studio Display.

Apple announces new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR are coming March 11

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:10

A day before its "Special Experience" event, Apple announced a new line of premium Studio Display monitors. In a press release, the company dropped details on both the Studio Display and an all-new Studio Display XDR.

The new Studio Display starts at $1,599, while the Studio Display XDR starts at $3,299. Both can be pre-ordered starting Wednesday, March 4, with availability starting on March 11.

Studio Displays are premium monitors designed for creative professionals such as video editors and 3D artists. Apple says the more advanced Studio Display XDR features the "world’s best pro display," and it has a 27-inch 5K mini-LED backlight display.

The Studio Display features a 12MP Center Stage camera, improved image quality, a three-microphone setup, and a six-speaker sound system with spatial audio.

“Apple has led the industry in delivering the world’s most advanced displays for pros to do their life’s best work, and today we do that once again with the introduction of the new Studio Display family,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, in a press release.

The new XDR is an even more premium offering with a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR display. Apple noted it had a 120Hz refresh rate, making it more responsive to content in motion.

Ternus called the Studio Display XDR "a huge leap forward for XDR technology," dubbing it the best in the world. In addition to its 120Hz refresh rate, it also has a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for HDR content and more than 2,000 local dimming zones.

Apple announces new M5 MacBook Air, now with 512GB of starting storage for $1,099

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 09:54

Apple continued its "big week" of product launches on Tuesday by announcing new M5 MacBook Air laptops alongside upgraded MacBook Pros. They're set for release on Wednesday, March 11, and preorders open March 4.

The $1,099 starting price does make us wonder if Apple is about to announce an even cheaper MacBook during its March 4 "special experience" tomorrow, as rumors suggest. For weeks, Apple forecasters have been predicting a low-priced touchscreen MacBook that could compete with cheap Windows laptops.

For now, let's dive into what we know about the new M5 MacBook Air.

Apple introduces the M5 MacBook Air

The new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Airs will come with the M5 chip and start with 512GB of storage. (Last fall's speedy 14-inch MacBook Pro had the same processor.) They're configurable with up to 4TB of storage for the first time.

The 512GB base models will retail for $1,099 and $1,299, respectively, which is the biggest news here. Those prices represent $100 discounts compared to the M4 MacBook Airs with the same amount of storage. They started with 256GB at $999, but that configuration option is no longer available.

Credit: Apple

The M5 MacBook Airs have also added Apple's N1 wireless chip, which brings support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 6.

Beyond that, this is a very iterative update. The M5 MacBook Airs have the same designs as their predecessors, retaining their aluminum builds, 60Hz Liquid Retina displays, 12MP Center Stage webcams, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and 18-hour battery life ratings. They still come in sky blue, midnight, starlight, and silver.

Mega Evolution’s Ascended Heroes ETBs have been bouncing around the triple-digit mark since launch, but Amazon sellers seem determined to keep pushing down prices on ETBs to keep an edge over competitors on other storefronts. As of March 3, the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box is listed for $116.49 at Amazon. That’s a small but real saving vs. Walmart’s current $118 price

Confirmed when checking price tracker camelcamelcamel, that’s the lowest price the Ascended Heroes ETB has been at Amazon so far — selling for $119.99 just last week ahead of Pokemon Day 2026.

TCGplayer’s listings look tempting at first glance, with prices as low as $108.98 — putting it at the market price estimated by the dedicated trading card selling website. However, that lowest listing also comes with an added shipping fees, putting the total above Amazon’s listing.

Your sealed Elite Trainer Box will contain nine Ascended Heroes booster packs, a full-art foil promo card featuring N’s Zekrom, 65 sleeves, 40 Energy cards, a player’s guide, dice, coin, dividers, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live. If you want to save every dollar you can with this particularly expensive hobby, Amazon is the go-to when it comes to Ascended Heroes ETBs right now.

Looking ahead to the next Pokémon TCG expansion, you can now pre-order Perfect Order Elite Trainer Boxes for as low as $105.81 at TCGplayer. Meanwhile, Walmart has the best price on Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution ETBs — still only $88.95.

The Magic: The Gathering Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collector Booster Box is under market price at Walmart — save vs. Amazon and TCGplayer

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 07:20

TL;DR: The Magic: The Gathering Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collector Booster Box is $399.99 at Walmart, dipping just under TCGplayer’s $400.01 market price and beating Amazon’s $409.56 listing.

The high-value MTG Collector Booster Boxes don’t usually drop in price by massive amounts, but Walmart has subtly become the best place to pre-order the TMNT version.

As of March 3, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collector Booster Box (12 packs) is listed for $399.99 at Walmart. That’s not only $9.57 cheaper than Amazon’s current $409.56 preorder price, but also lands below TCGplayer’s $400.01 market price at the time of writing — and is much cheaper than any listings on the dedicated trading card selling platform.

The current lowest presale price there is $447.99 before shipping, which makes Walmart the most-budget-friendly option if you’re trying to lock in a fair preorder price.

For collectors, the appeal is the usual Collector Booster assortment — plus a TMNT twist. Each box includes 12 Collector Boosters, and each pack has 15 cards with 0-3 Surge Foils, 9-12 Traditional Foils, five rares or mythics, and a Full-Art land. There’s even a Borderless signature Kevin Eastman headliner card in under 1% of boosters.

Among other MTG deals, the Magic: The Gathering Bloomburrow Play Booster Box is still available for under $138 at Amazon. As for additional expansions, you can get three packs of Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Boosters for only $24.97.

The Pokémon TCG Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box is just above market price at TCGplayer — save $9 vs. Amazon

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 07:16

TL;DR: The Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box is listed for $95.81 at TCGplayer (plus shipping), edging just above market price and beating Amazon’s $114.95 listing by about $9.

If you’re a Pokémon TCG fan who has been holding out for a Perfect Order ETB that isn’t priced like a $200+ chase card, TCGplayer is currently the go-to option. As of March 3, preorders for the Perfect Order Elite Trainer Box are only $95.81 — a hair above the current market price of $95.68. Just keep in mind that shipping is added at checkout.

Even with shipping factored in, it still undercuts Amazon’s current $114.95 price, which is a rare win for a sealed Mega Evolution product this close to launch. Like other retailers, TCGplayer also notes this is a presale item with an estimated shipping date of March 27, 2026 (from the expansion’s official release date). So you’ll be locking in the price now and waiting for release-day fulfillment, offsetting any future price hikes that might come up in the next few weeks.

The Perfect Order ETB offers the same range you get from other Elite Trainer Boxes: nine booster packs of trading cards, 65 card sleeves, a player’s guide, dice/condition markers, a collector’s storage box with dividers, and a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.

Compared to how Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Boxes are now selling for at least $120, getting this box for just over $105 is a solid deal by comparison. As we get closer to the expansion’s official release on March 27, we expect prices to go up once retailer stock sells out.

For even lower-priced ETBs, you can also buy the Pokémon TCG’s Mega Evolution Elite Trainer Boxes for just under $90 at Walmart.

Google drops Gemini for Home updates: Here are 3 you should know

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 07:04

Google has announced a string of updates for Gemini for Home, including "Live Search" for Nest cameras.

Rolled out to U.S. devices in October and November and expanded globally in early 2026, Google's big AI-powered upgrade to Google Assistant has experienced ups and downs — namely, backlash around previously free features that are now paywalled behind a Google Home Premium subscription. However, it seems like Google is listening to feedback on at least the technical side of Gemini for Home, with another batch of improvements hitting the company's competitor to Amazon's Alexa.

On Monday, head of product for Google Home and Nest, Anish Kattukaran, posted on X about the latest updates coming to Google's AI voice assistant and Nest devices, from voice command fixes to location accuracy.

This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed. "Live Search" for Nest cameras Google's latest Nest cameras: the Nest Cam Indoor (3rd gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (2nd gen) and Nest Doorbell (3rd gen). Credit: Google

This is probably the most notable update that Kattukaran announced: A feature available only to Premium subscribers ($10 per month or $100 per year), "Live Search" will be added to Google's Nest cameras. This is different to Google's AI-powered "Search Live" feature, which lets smartphone users request real-time information with their phone camera.

With "Live Search," Kattukaran said you'll be able to "ask Gemini to understand the current state of your home" with questions like "Hey Google, is there a car in the driveway?" and if you have Nest cameras installed you'll get an update from Gemini. Exactly what this means for privacy and security remains to be seen, but honestly, it's been a rocky time for Big Tech and AI-powered cameras.

In another Nest upgrade, Google Home's integration with Yale Lock smart locks — where you can manage security measures like passcodes and guest access in the Home app — is out of beta and into general release. And Nest Wifi Pro, Google's mesh WiFi system, has upped performance and security.

Several updates relate to how users communicate with Google devices, with context improvements promised for asking Gemini general questions and giving everyday commands. A common complaint with Google Home users, getting cut-off while speaking, has also been addressed, with Kattukaran saying that the team has "significantly reduced these premature cut-offs to ensure Gemini correctly understands you, enabling smoother and more fluid turn-taking during live conversations."

There's also been an update to how Gemini understands the nuances of smart devices within the same room (like kitchen lights vs kitchen devices) and those with alternative names (you know you've named your lights something dumb). "Got a device uniquely named 'Table Glow'?" Kattukaran wrote. "Gemini now automatically knows it's a light based on manufacturer data, meaning it will correctly respond to 'turn on the lights' even without the word 'light' in its name."

Gemini for Home will apparently go harder on customising responses based on your home address, which you can set in the Google Home app as usual. This means when you're asking Google about the news and weather, it'll be more specific to your area (this is beneficial to people who share a Home account but might not always be under the same roof — people work, socialise, and travel).

According to Kattukaran, Google has also fixed command targeting so if you ask your device to turn off lights, for example, it will only do so in the location you're currently in (if you're a fancy pants with several houses and one Google Home account, this will be helpful to you).

Samsung's latest Galaxy Unpacked event was filled with plenty of announcements, including news of the brand new Galaxy S26 Ultra phone. If this sleek device has caught your eye, Samsung's treating customers who pre-order the phone to a bonus when they trade-in an eligible device.

Those interested in pre-ordering the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra from Samsung's online store can save up to $900 with an eligible trade-in, which will be credited from your final price. That's a pretty nice offer for a preorder, which starts at $1,299.99 for the 256GB model.

You'll want to be quick to take advantage of this limited-time offer. This offer only lasts for a week (Samsung has a timer already going on the store page), so you don't want to wait too long to make a move on it.

As with many of these trade-in offers, your device needs to be eligible to qualify. Thankfully, scrolling down to the "Samsung Trade-in" section on the page and clicking "Yes, trade-in" opens up a window where you can check your device's eligibility. The criteria includes its condition, which needs to be "Good" in order to get the full trade-in value. Here are those requirements:

  • Device turns on and screen works normally

  • Activation Locks are disabled, accounts are removed, and device is factory reset

  • Charging port works and battery holds a charge

  • Screen, body (front and back), and camera lens are free of cracks

  • The device is not on a banned list

Alternatively, if you don't have a device to trade in, you can get $150 worth of Samsung Credit to use towards add-ons when you pre-order. These include earbuds, watches, tablets, select accessories, and select Samsung Care+ packages.

Mashable's Amanda Yeo was able to get hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and highlighted its new privacy display. She stated that she, "Found it remarkably effective — particularly its Maximum mode. Activating the Privacy display made the S26 Ultra's screen appear noticeably darker when viewed from wide angles, rendering it more difficult to read if not facing it head-on."

If you can't wait to get your hands on it, why not save a little cash when pre-ordering? Don't miss out on this great offer to save up to $900 with an eligible instant trade-in Credit when pre-ordering the Galaxy S26 Ultra at Samsung.

Jimmy Kimmel trolls Trump with old footage of him talking about Obama and Iran

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 06:59

The one handy thing about having a president who spent years as a celebrity is that there's no shortage of old footage to draw on when you need a clip of them contradicting themselves after they start a war.

This is exactly what Jimmy Kimmel does in the clip above, digging out some footage of Donald Trump in 2011 saying he thinks Obama "will start a war with Iran because he has absolutely no ability to negotiate" and calling him "weak and ineffective."

"Well, look at that: another prediction he got right," says Kimmel, before sharing a 2012 tweet from Trump on the same topic: "Now that Obama's poll numbers are in tailspin — watch for him to launch a strike in Libya or Iran," Trump wrote. "He is desperate."

"Well, I guess at least we know why he did this," says Kimmel.

Jon Stewart analyses Trumps Iran war announcement

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 06:21

The US has launched "major combat operations" in Iran, with Trump taking to the podium to make the announcement while wearing a "U.S." baseball cap.

Speaking on The Daily Show on Monday, Jon Stewart made it clear that it wasn't quite the "solemn" opportunity to "reassure an anxious nation" that he was expecting.

"This is how we're doing this?" asks Stewart in the clip above. "2am, Mar-A-Lago basement, no lighting? You don't even have one of those influencer halo things? You just f***ing go down to the basement? And this is what we're wearing? Blazer, no tie, shirt unbuttoned? Looking more like the father of the bride settling up with the caterer?"
