Apple is all in on AI. CEO Tim Cook kicked off its September 9 event "It's Glowtime" with the announcement that the new iPhone is built from the ground up to support Apple Intelligence. The event centered on the new Apple Watch 10 and AirPods 4, in addition to the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, which come about a year after their predecessors, the iPhone 15 line, were announced.

Leading up to Glowtime, there were rumors flying about the new iPhones from Apple. While the sizes were expected to stay the same, both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus, were meant to have slimmed-down bezels and the addition of the Action button, which was previously only available on the iPhone Pro and Pro Max models. Now that Apple has officially announced its new phones, here's what to know about the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.

The iPhone 16 is embracing color with this new set of smartphones. Debuting in three new vibrant shades of pink, green, and blue, it's sure to make a statement, but that's just where the design changes begin. It's crafted from aerospace titanium, ceramic shields, and new, tougher glass for a more durable phone.

The action button is now featured on all iPhone 16 models. Credit: Apple

All iPhone 16 models now include the multipurpose Action button that sits just above the volume buttons. Previously the Action button was only included on the Pro and Pro Max iPhone models, but now it appears to have expanded to all models. It allows you to customize how you want to use the button whether you want it to turn on the flashlight or start your car with compatible apps like FordPass.

The iPhone 16 has downsized the camera lens while adding a Camera Control button. Credit: Apple

The camera on the iPhone 16 looks different than previous models with two stacked lenses rather than diagonal lenses (the iPhone 16 Pro models still have the three-camera design.) Plus there's a new way to control the camera on your iPhone with Camera Control, a button flush to the side, just below the lock button. Quickly click to snap a photo or use touch controls to preview or zoom in on your shot.

Inside the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is the A18 chip, which Apple claims to be 30 percent faster than the iPhone 15. It will run Apple Intelligence features, which are slowly being rolled out, some expected to launch later this month. During the iPhone 16 event, we didn't learn too many new details about Apple Intelligence, instead the company reiterated the new AI features that let you create your own emoji or spruce up your emails and text with better language.

iOS 18 will power the iPhone 16 and supposedly give it a longer battery life. How much longer? Apple didn't say, so we'll have to test that for ourselves. The iPhone 16 measures in at 6.1 inches while the iPhone 16 Plus is slightly larger at 6.7 inches. If you're tempted to go even bigger, then you'll need to go for the iPhone 16 Pro models.

The iPhone 16 starts at $799 and the iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899. They will be available to pre-order on Friday, September 13 (spooky) and will arrive on September 20.

Apple's Sept. 9 "It's Glowtime," event just wrapped, and the company has announced big updates to its extensive lineup of tech products including new iPhones, AirPods, and a brand-new Apple Watch.

The keynote kicked off with the announcement of the Apple Watch Series 10, which introduces a more lightweight design, a larger, easier-to-read display, and various health features that could prove to be game-changers for those with sleep-related issues. The Series 10 is available to preorder as we speak, and will be officially released on Sept. 20 for $399 (GPS) and $499 (GPS + cellular).

SEE ALSO: New Apple AirPods are coming, so current models are on sale now What's new in the Apple Watch Series 10?

The Apple Watch Series 10 isn't a miraculous step up from the previous generation, but it's definitely the best place to start if you're new to tech wearables. For starters, the Series 10 is the thinnest Apple Watch yet but has the biggest, most readable display to date. It's nearly edge-to-edge and has about 30 percent more screen area compared to other Apple Watch iterations. The new watch introduces Apple's first-ever wide-angle OLED display, which makes it way easier to read your wrist bling at different angles, especially when you're just picking it up for a quick glance. The display is also more power-efficient, updating once per second when in Always On mode compared to the once-per-minute updates of previous models.

The watch also comes in some new finishes, including jet black, rose gold, and silver aluminum. You can also get it in a new titanium finish for a more formal look — that model is lighter than the regular Series 10, and one of Apple's newest carbon-neutral products. The Series 10 is the fastest-charging Apple Watch yet, only taking 30 minutes to get to 80 percent battery. The speaker system is also upgraded and allows you to play audio out loud, straight from the device itself.

The watch also employs the speedy S10 SIP processor and watchOS 11, along with some new software features like crash and fall detection, as well as better background noise impression. Health features are also getting a big update with sleep apnea alerts, which use sleep analytics to monitor your breathing over time, taking note of any disturbances and alerting you if you should see a medical professional. Underwater athletes will also benefit from the new depth app, tides app, and water temperature measurements.

The lightning cable is dead: Every product at the Apple event uses USB-C

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 15:09

If you update your Apple devices this fall, you'll finally be able to get rid of those old Lightning cables.

To no one's surprise, every new device shown off at the Apple event on Monday charges using USB-C, not Lightning. That includes the following:

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10

Again, none of this is shocking. Apple made the switch for all four of its new iPhone models last year. The Apple Watch also gets in on a technicality, as the device charges wirelessly using a USB-C dongle. The only news here is that the new AirPods 4 charge via USB-C, as do the re-released (but otherwise unchanged) AirPods Max. As recently as last summer, Apple was still releasing new AirPods Pro earbuds that charged via Lightning, so it's nice to see Apple slowly fixing this.

SEE ALSO: Apple finally unveils a hot pink iPhone

Apple only switched to USB-C because of European Union regulations, so the company may not deserve heaps of praise for it, but it does end one of the more irritating tech sagas of our lifetimes. For years, people have had to keep Lightning cables around for the purposes of charging devices made by one company, while almost every other company on Earth switched to USB-C years ago.

Now, you'll be able to use one cable to charge almost any device you own. RIP Lightning, we won't miss you.

iPhone 16's new camera control button makes taking photos more fun

At Apple’s highly anticipated "Glowtime" event on Sept. 9, all eyes were on the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro lineup — and the show's star wasn't just the phone itself but a game-changing new "button" revolutionizing mobile photography: the Camera Control feature.

SEE ALSO: iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus unveiled at Apple 'Glowtime' event iPhone 16 Camera Control button unveiled at Apple Event 2024 Credit: Apple

The iPhone 16 lineup introduces a game-changing Camera Control button, positioned just below the power button on the bottom-right side. It acts like a DSLR shutter and offers haptic feedback for a more tactile shooting experience. A light press activates autofocus, while a harder press snaps a picture.

The Camera Control button provides responsive haptic feedback, simulating the feel of a camera shutter with each interaction. This tactile response makes shooting more intuitive and precise. A light press also activates a clean, streamlined overlay, giving quick access to essential camera settings without overwhelming the screen — allowing you to focus on the moment you’re capturing.

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10

A quick double-button press activates additional controls for those looking to delve deeper into the camera’s advanced capabilities. From here, users can select from a range of options, such as switching between modes, like video or portrait, or toggling manual focus and exposure. It’s a gateway to the full potential of the iPhone’s camera system.

Integrated with apps like Snapchat, the Camera Control button allows instant capturing, zooming, and sharing without leaving the app. According to Apple, this seamless functionality brings social media experiences to life faster and more tactilely.

Combined with the iPhone 16's new 48MP fusion camera, Camera Control becomes a simple but powerful addition, elevating the iPhone’s already formidable camera game.

Best dating sites for over-40 singles: 10 apps to flirt and fall in love in 2024

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 15:03

Deciding to get back into the dating game can be nerve-wracking at any age. But the stakes may feel a little higher if you're in your 40s.

You may assume that people in your demographic either aren't interested in dating or are already settled into long-term relationships. However, according to a recent Pew Research Center analysis of Census Bureau data, as of 2021, nearly 25 percent of 40-somethings in the U.S. have never been married. Additionally, only 22 percent of unmarried adults ages 40 to 44 were cohabiting couples.

SEE ALSO: Dating predictions for the rest of 2024

So, have people in their 40s given up on finding love? Not at all. In fact, according to the Pew Research analysis, approximately one in four 40-year-olds who weren't married in 2001 tied the knot by age 60. But unlike people in their 20s and 30s, single people over 40 know what they want and aren't afraid to wait a little longer to find the right person.

How to start dating again at 40

Now, after that speech and spew of statistics, you're probably wondering what our grand plan is to get you out on the dance floor. The answer? Online dating. Before you scoff, hear us out.

Online dating is a great way to meet new people in a low-pressure environment. The best dating sites for people over 40 make it so easy to connect with potential partners. You can filter through profiles and find matches who share your interests and values. Imagine if you could do that when scanning the room at a party — it would save a lot of time and effort.

But before you download a bunch of apps, Kiana Reeves, Somatic Sex Educator, Intimacy Coach, and Chief Education Officer at Foria, recommends taking a moment for self-reflection: "We join dating sites because we’re looking for connection, whether in the form of a serious relationship, a casual fling, or something in between. With that in mind, it’s important to identify the kind of connection you’re looking for before you join any dating sites, apps, etc."

SEE ALSO: Tired of casual dates? Try the best dating apps for serious relationships

Next, consider your approach to online dating, Reeves says. "Are you looking for a casual swipe-through site to meet people in a new city? Are you someone who likes to make the first move? Are you looking for someone who is only interested in a serious relationship? Are you looking for someone who shares your same faith? How much time are you planning to devote to making a connection?"

Once you've clarified your dating goals, Reeves recommends "joining a couple [apps] to start out with, so you can feel out what kind of user experience makes the most sense for you." She adds, "Of course, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, it’s totally fine to just join one to start."

Ready to find love after 40? Or maybe you're looking for a no-pressure friend with benefits? We've got you. As data nerds, we've done the research, sourced expert advice, and did a lot of hands-on testing to find the best options for forty-something singles. How to pre-order the new all-black Apple Watch Ultra 2

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 15:03

PRE-ORDER NOW: Apple announced a black version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 at its Glowtime event on Sept. 9. It officially comes out on Sept. 20, but you can pre-order it now for $799.

No, Apple isn't discontinuing the Apple Watch Ultra — but it's not giving us the Apple Watch Ultra 3 yet, either.

Rather, all Apple could muster up in the way of upgrades in the past year that the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has been out is a new color for the Ultra 2 line: highly-awaited black. The scratch-resistant satin black titanium Ultra 2 (as well as a new black Milanese loop band) was announced at the Glowtime event on Sept. 9. Granted, the star of the show was definitely the iPhone 16, with a few other fun opening acts like the new Apple Watch Series 10 also scattered in — so someone had to take a backseat, I guess, and it was the Ultra 2 this time.

SEE ALSO: Apple Watch deals on older generations are worth checking out ahead of the Apple event

The black version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available to pre-order for $799 now, and will be available officially on Sept. 20. For anyone who already upgraded to the Ultra 2 last year, an upgrade probably sounds comical — however, this elegant, moody new colorway just might be the push some athletes need to go Ultra over competing sports watches.

Since there are no new technical upgrades within the Ultra 2 to analyze, let's at least recap the pros of the Ultra 2 in general: Compared to a regular Apple Watch, the Ultra is more rugged and sporty. Powered by Apple's S9 chip and highly accurate U2 GPS chip, the Ultra 2 tracks just about any workout or activity you could throw at it — including extreme ones, like scuba diving or surfing thanks to the watchOS 11 update. The watch offers clutch features like automatic running detection or personalized tips on when to push or when to recover. Whether you're a lifelong athlete or are just getting into cycling or surfing after making the Olympics your entire personality, the Ultra Watch 2 is a serious training companion.

Debuted last year, the Ultra 2 is also armed with double tap. A quick double tap of your thumb and index finger (pinching emoji style) can trigger actions like answering a call or stopping a timer, depending on the activity you're up to.

The new black Ultra 2 is still made with 95 percent recycled aluminum and, like all new Apple Watch finishes, can be made carbon neutral.

Apple's iPhone Pro models have grown up. Say hello to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

As expected, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max offer a more advanced feature set compared to the entry-level iPhone 16 models — starting with the larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively.

Here are all the details Apple has divulged about the new Pro variants at the Sept. 9 Glowtime event.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max announced at Apple event 2024

Apple's new iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max have the following new features:

  • New, larger displays: 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro, and 6.9 cinhes for the iPhone 16 Pro Max

  • New color: desert titanium, alongside the old (but slightly altered) black and white titanium, as well as natural titanium

  • Improved battery life

  • New A18 Pro chip which is 20 percent faster than previous generation, while being less power-hungry than before

  • Upgraded rear camera, with a new, 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera

  • Camera Control button that lets you fine-tune your photographs as you take them

  • Four new mics which enable features such as Audio Mix, which separates various audio elements from speech in your videos

  • 4K video recording at 120 fps

There are, of course, numerous smaller upgrades, including Wi-Fi 7 support, new Photographic Styles, and the next-gen Ceramic Shield. Apple Intelligence will also be available on the device when it arrives in beta form next month.

There are, however, few features that are specific to the Pro models.

As for the differences between the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, the smaller model starts with 128GB of storage, while the Max starts with 256GB.

The battery life is also better on the iPhone 16 Pro Max: Apple rates it at 33 hours of video playback, and up to 105 hours of audio playback. The iPhone 16 Pro has up to 27 hours of video playback, and up to 85 hours of audio playback.

The price for the iPhone 16 Pro hasn't changed from last year. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199.

Apple did not announce a new version of the AirPods Pro during Monday's event, though it did showcase some new health features coming to the earbuds later this fall — including clinical-grade hearing aid functionality. Now that the standard (non-Pro) AirPods also have ANC, there's not much else differentiating them anymore.

Apple finally unveils a hot pink iPhone

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 14:30

Apple's "Glowtime" — the keynote event outlining the company's new product and hardware innovations — just unveiled a brave new world for the iPhone 16: Hot. Pink.

Apple fans and viewers were on high alert for the chromatic reveal, after rumors circulated that the new shade range would finally embrace the old rainbow-inspired colors of the brand.

"PINK IPHONE THIS IS NAWT A DRILL!!!!" wrote one X user. "you guys we finally got a REAL PINK iphone 😭😭," scream-cried another.

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10 Tweet may have been deleted Tweet may have been deleted

In 2022, Mashable's Elizabeth DeLuna noted Apple's complete cultural miss in not tapping into the hot pink moment — an aesthetic shift pegged to a boom in popularity of what was coined "Barbiecore" — in favor of brand safe, subdued pink tones.

"The 2010s were enamored with shades that whispered; the 2020s call for hues that scream," wrote DeLuna. "Cultural fascination with anemic millennial pinks and rose golds is dying. As the government wrenches away our bodily autonomy, and global warming threatens our existence, we are embracing the heat of hot pink."

This year — defined by the neon green of Brat Summer and the high-energy, joy-filled campaign of Kamala Harris — demands similarly exuberant color shifts. And Apple has finally listened.

Tweet may have been deleted Tweet may have been deleted

Unfortunately, those eager to get their hands on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will have to pass on the new, unabashedly pink, which is only available on the standard models. The color is joined by two other jewel toned options, including a lighter, sea foam green color ("teal) and bright, cornflower blue ("ultramarine"). Standard black and white color ways are still available, too.

Hand your least favorite job over to Shark’s new robot cleaner

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 14:07

Cleaning floors is one of the most time-consuming household chores. If you have pets or kids (or pets and kids), it can also be incredibly unsatisfying — the moment your floors are finally shiny, someone throws some food or runs dirt through the house, and you’re back to square one.

It’s the kind of task we really want to hand over to the robots completely, and now, we can. Shark’s new PowerDetect™ 2-in-1 robovac is an advanced system that captures more dirt with less work from you.

Beat dirt, dust, and common allergens Shop Now Ultra-low maintenance cleaning

You’ll hardly need to touch your PowerDetect™ robot for a full month. After every clean, it will return to its base to wash and dry the mopping pad, empty debris into a 60-day-capacity bin, and automatically refill its water tank for up to 30 days. The antimicrobial mopping pads are built to prevent bacteria and mold growth, setting the pad up for your next clean.

You can also remove some mental maintenance by creating a map of your home with no-go zones and setting a cleaning schedule.

Detailed cleaning with EdgeDetect

Robot cleaners have a round shape that doesn’t typically play well with edges or corners in a home. Shark solved this dilemma with a genius EdgeDetect system that blasts air to push debris from the edges into the robot’s cleaning path. When mopping, the pad is extended for up to an inch to guarantee your floors are clean-clean, not just visibly clean.

The DirtDetect feature can sense areas that have more debris and boosts vacuuming performance, while StainDetect tracks out strains and takes additional passes to help remove the stain.

Whether you have pets or not, a house filled with dust and dander can be a nightmare for allergy sufferers. The bagless base of the PowerDetect™ traps 99.97 percent of dust and allergens* to help you breathe more easily [1]. Meanwhile, the Odor Neutralizer Technology will trap odors in, keeping them out of the air to freshen up your home.

iPhone 16 is getting Apple Intelligence — and it's free

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 14:04

Apple Intelligence is now coming to the iPhone 16 series — and it's free.

There was some debate about whether Apple's new suite of AI tools would cost a subscription fee. But VP of Software Craig Federighi confirmed at the Apple event on Monday, that it doesn't cost a thing — besides the actual cost of the iPhone 16 which starts at $799 and $899 for the iPhone 16 Plus.

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10

Apple's collection of AI features, branded as Apple Intelligence, made its debut at WWDC 2024, showcasing new AI-powered tools like a smarter Siri, notification summaries, Genmoji, and more. Initially, Apple Intelligence was reserved for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models. But now, the non-Pro versions of the iPhone 16, which arrive on Sept. 20, are getting it, too.

Apple Intelligence comes to iPhone 16

Here are the Apple Intelligence features announced for the iPhone 16. As noted during the event, many of the Apple Intelligence features are processed on-device. For those that require cloud computing, Apple has dedicated Apple Intelligence servers called Private Cloud Compute that don't store user data and are used only to process requests.

  • Writing Tools: As Federighi said, Apple Intelligence is available "wherever you type," including third-party apps like Slack and Goodreads. The AI integration helps iPhone 16 users draft, rewrite, and proofread text.

  • Transcription and summaries in Notes: Apple Intelligence enables Apple users to record, transcribe, and summarize calls and audio recordings in the Notes and Phone apps.

  • Genmoji: With Apple Intelligence, you can create new emoji by typing a description or create new images with Image Playground.

  • Photos: In the Photos app, you can find an image you're looking for by typing a description or even a specific moment in a video. Apple also introduced a "Clean Up" tool that uses Apple Intelligence to remove unwanted objects or people that get in the way of your perfect shot.

  • AI-generated summaries: In Mail and notifications on the home screen, you can get a quick summary of your inbox in the Mail app. Apple Intelligence also provides AI-generated summaries of notifications and prioritizes them based on importance.

  • Behold, the new Siri: As promised, Siri is more natural, contextually relevant, and more personalized. Aside from voice prompts, you can type to Siri. The voice assistant also has more expansive knowledge for helping troubleshoot or accomplish something on your iPhone 16. Siri also has more contextual on-screen awareness, so it sees what you see on the screen, or a collection of photos you referenced.

Apple Intelligence on iPhone 16 will be available in beta in October as part of the iOS 18.1 update. It will start in the U.S. in English and then roll out to other countries.

What other Apple devices support Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence is also compatible with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, as well as last year's iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, with the iOS 18.1 update. It will also be available on iPad with the iPadOS 18.1 update, Mac with the M1 chip, and later on the macOS Sequoia 15.1 update.

If you were wondering, Apple briefly mentioned ChatGPT as an option for various AI features. But it's not expected to be available with the first Apple Intelligence update in iOS 18.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is now available in black

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 13:54

Apple made a relatively minor announcement about their Watch Ultra series at its September 9 "Glowtime" event: There's no Ultra 3, but the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is now available in "satin black." This is the first time the Watch Ultra has been available in multiple colors.

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10

The Watch Ultra will also get the watchOS 11 updates. That means it will now display Live Activities and more training features with Training Load. Additionally, the Watch Ultra 2 will detect sleep apnea. It costs $799.

The Watch Ultra was first introduced in 2022, as the more specialized (and expensive) Apple Watch option. It has a longer lasting battery life and a significantly larger display. As Apple marketing would tell you, the Ultra is designed as your companion for adventurous exercise such as hiking, swims, kiteboarding sessions, and with the updates to watchOS 11 snorkeling and scuba trips.

The Ultra has yet to receive a major upgrade from its original model, but remains the more technical and more expensive Apple Watch.

Apple Watch Series 10 introduces a new sleep apnea feature

Mon, 09/09/2024 - 13:46

Apple's "Glowtime" event kicked off with a dramatic unveiling of its new, sleeker Apple Watch Series 10, complete with new display, sound, and even health features.

Wedged within announcements of a slimmer screen and new watch faces was a brand new, "breakthrough" health sensor that can monitor and alert users who may suffer from sleep apnea, a condition affecting millions of Americans.

SEE ALSO: Apple Event 2024: Everything announced, including iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10

The sleep apnea monitor utilizes the device's accelerometer, which detects "real-time, motion-based" data to monitor when a user is having a period of disturbed or restless sleep. Combined with other real time health sensors, the watch will then notify wearers if it detects "consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea," as well as resources for consulting a physician.

It will be accessible on Apple Watch Series 10, Series 9, and Ultra 2.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman first leaked the announcement the night before the company's big event, but rumors of the feature have been circulating since last year. At that time, industry insiders believed the Apple Watch could be expanding its health sensors to cover not just sleep apnea, but also diabetes and blood pressure monitoring. It appears mastering sleep is the device's first frontier.

Apple says it's new feature will receive full approval from the FDA and other regulatory bodies soon, and will be available across 150 countries and regions this month, including the U.S., Europe, and Japan.

In February, Samsung introduced the first FDA-approved sleep apnea tracker for its new Galaxy Watch series.

You can get an unlocked Apple iPhone 13 (128GB) from Best Buy for $549.99. That’s $80 off the listing price, or, if you have an eligible trade-in, you can get an additional $225 off. You’ll also get three months of Apple TV+, three months of Apple Fitness+, and three months of Apple Music with your purchase.

The iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display, a dual-camera system, and Apple's A15 Bionic chip. It’s not the latest and greatest, but it’s still a powerful and functional iPhone that should hold up for a few more years.

The Apple iPhone 14 Plus (128GB) is on sale at Best Buy for $579.99, down from the usual $829.99. If you don’t mind a bigger screen, the 14 Plus might be a better long-term investment over the iPhone 13. With a trade-in, you can get an extra $365 off (depending on your device).

This iPhone has a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display, so it’s only slightly bigger than the 6.1-inch iPhone 13. It has an action mode for smooth video capture, an all-day battery life (up to 26 hours of video playback), and the A15 Bionic chip.

This phone runs on iOS 16, has 10 hours of battery life, and an OLED 6.1-inch display. It’s not scratch-resistant like the iPhone 13 and 14 models, but it's still a good deal if you're on a tight budget.

Apple's September 9, "It's Glowtime" event is just around the corner, and the rumors are flying about what's to come. New iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods are expected. There's even word this morning that AirPod Max headphones are getting an upgrade. While we won't know all the details until the event kicks off, we do know that some AirPods models are currently on sale.

Keep in mind, these aren't the best prices we've ever seen on AirPods, but they're perfectly fine. We can sense that new AirPods are coming — the AirPods Pro page on Amazon is only showing reseller options— so prices are in flux and that means there's no guarantee that discounts will remain. If you're anxious to get a pair of AirPods and don't want to pay full price, here are the best Apple AirPod deals to shop now.

Best AirPod (2nd gen) deal Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPod (2nd gen) $89.00 at Amazon
$129.00 Save $40.00 Get Deal Why we like it

The Apple AirPods (2nd gen) are the ideal starter headphones. With a delightfully compact case, they can be tucked into pockets and bags so you always have access on the go. The biggest perk is their seamless connection to iPhones. Unlike other headphones, there's no button you have to press to get a Bluetooth connection. All you have to do is open the case, and they magically connect within seconds. These don't feature noise cancellation, but they're nonetheless fantastic.

Currently, you can find Apple AirPods (2nd gen) on sale at Amazon for $89, saving a sweet $40. It's about $20 more than their lowest price ever, but the current 31% savings isn't bad.

Best Apple AirPod (3rd generation) deal Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPods (3rd gen) $149.00 at B&H Photo
$169.00 Save $20.00 Get Deal Why we like it

If you want a little more from your AirPods, look to the 3rd generation model. While these still don't feature active noise cancellation, the audio quality they offer is a significant upgrade from the 2nd gen model. In the AirPods (3rd gen), you'll receive spatial audio that tracks sound and is even compatible with Dolby Atmos.

You can find them at B&H Photo for $149, knocking $20 off the price for 12% off. This is a rare deal, considering even Amazon is currently selling the AirPods (3rd gen) for full price.

Best AirPods Max deal Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple AirPods Max $459.00 at Amazon
$549.00 Save $90.00 Get Deal Why we like it

The vast market of over-the-ear headphones includes stellar options when it comes to comfort and audio quality, but it's hard to deny the popularity of Apple's AirPod Max headphones. Their futuristic and colorful design makes them fun to wear, and like all AirPods, their ease of connectivity is exceptional. But one thing about these headphones — we've never loved their $549 price tag.

So if you're going to buy Apple AirPods Max, buy them on sale. Currently, you can find them for $459 at Amazon, which saves you $90 for 16% off.
