Get a fully loaded MacBook Pro for 50% off

Mashable - 7 hours 19 min ago

TL;DR:  Enjoy all the power and perks of a MacBook Pro for half the price with this 13" model, now $549.99 (reg. $1,099) for a limited time.

Right now, you can enjoy all the bells and whistles of this sought-after MacBook at a fraction of the usual price, 49% off to be exact, if you scoop up this 13" model for just $549.99.

MacBook Pro perks at a wallet-friendly price

There's a reason the MacBook Pro is Apple's most expensive laptop. It's filled with great features, like the brand's revolutionary M1 Chip that offers a speedy and seamless performance and the 16-core Smart Neural Engine that boosts the machine learning capabilities.

Tackle work tasks or pencil in some R&R with a good Netflix binge session on the 13.3" LED-backlit screen with 2560x1600 resolution. True Tone Technology automatically adjusts color temperatures for a delightful viewing experience, while the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos offer incredible audio.

Perhaps one of the most underrated features of a laptop is its lengthy battery life, so you'll truly appreciate this model's all-day staying power. Take advantage of 17 hours of web browsing or 20 hours of video playback on a single charge.

You'll also enjoy two Thunderbolt/USB 4 posts, a 3.5mm headphone jack if you'd like to plug in and listen, a Touch Bar for extra efficiency, and an improved Magic Keyboard.

Wondering how you get access to this low price? This model comes with a grade A refurbished rating, which means it will arrive in near-mint condition with virtually no signs of wear (while still being offered at a bargain refurbished price).

Bring home this MacBook Pro for $549.99 (reg. $1,099) for a limited time.

Soundcore P30i earbuds are under $30 in the last day of the Amazon Spring Sale

Mashable - 7 hours 23 min ago

SAVE $20: As of March 31, Soundcore P30i Noise Cancelling Earbuds are on sale for $29.99 at Amazon. That’s 40% off their $49.99 list price, but the deal ends when the Amazon Spring Sale wraps on March 31.

Opens in a new window Credit: Soundcore Soundcore P30i Noise Cancelling Earbuds $29.99 at Amazon
$49.99 Save $20.00 Get Deal

I’ve bought more earbuds than I care to admit — half of them lost to seat cushions, coat pockets, or that weird Bermuda Triangle behind my bed. But if I were in the market for a backup pair (or just a surprisingly decked-out budget option), I’d go for the Soundcore P30i from Anker. They’re just $29.99 on Amazon, a solid 40% off the usual $49.99, and frankly, I’d pay that much just for the weirdly useful case.

Seriously, the case doubles as a phone stand. Just flip open the back, prop up your phone, and boom: instant mini theater for your next airport layover or lunch break TikTok binge. Not exactly life-changing, but delightfully clever.

SEE ALSO: The best Apple deals in Amazon's Big Spring Sale: New iPads and M4 MacBook Airs are already on sale

Now for the specs: the P30i delivers adaptive noise cancellation that cuts up to 42 decibels of background chaos, and yes, there’s a transparency mode for those of us who want to stay aware while still vibing. The 10mm drivers bring that signature Soundcore BassUp punch, so even cheap earbuds get to act like they’re premium.

  • Price: $29.99 $49.99

  • Retailer: Amazon

  • Noise Cancellation: Up to 42dB, adaptive

  • Transparency Mode: Yes

  • Drivers: 10mm with BassUp tech

  • Battery Life: 10 hours (6 with ANC), 45 hours with case

  • Quick Charge: 10 min = 2 hours

  • Microphones: 4 with AI-enhanced call clarity

  • Bluetooth: Version 5.4

  • Bonus Feature: Case doubles as a phone stand

Battery life? Surprisingly stacked. You get up to 10 hours of playtime per charge, or six with ANC on. With the case, that stretches to a ridiculous 45 hours total. Also, a 10-minute quick charge gives you two hours of playback, which is the earbud equivalent of finding a charger at 1%. Anker also crammed in four mics with AI noise reduction for calls, and the whole setup pairs with Bluetooth 5.4. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this much tech packed into a $30 earbud. It’s giving “why are you still thinking about it” energy.

Amazon’s Spring Sale ends on March 31, and if you’re going to grab a spare pair (or your main pair, no judgment), now’s probably the best moment.

Samsung’s MX-ST50B party speaker is down to under $200 in the Amazon Spring Sale

Mashable - 7 hours 27 min ago

SAVE $500: As of March 31, the Samsung MX-ST50B Sound Tower is on sale for $197.99 at Amazon. That’s a whopping $500 off its $697.99 list price, but the deal ends with the Amazon Spring Sale on March 31.

Opens in a new window Credit: Samsung Samsung MX-ST50B Sound Tower $197.99 at Amazon
$697.99 Save $500 Get Deal

There are good deals, and then there are “why is this legal” deals. This one’s squarely in the second category. The Samsung MX-ST50B Sound Tower (normally a soul-shaking $698) has plummeted to $197.99 for the final day of Amazon’s Spring Sale. That’s a 72% discount on a Bluetooth speaker that could double as a small earthquake machine.

I want this speaker not because I throw a lot of parties (I don’t), or even because I have a spacious outdoor area (I don’t), but because I deeply believe in overkill. This is 240 watts of bi-directional sound with a built-in battery that goes for 18 hours, just casually waiting to blast music into the next zip code. The fact that it’s also IPX5 water-resistant means I could spill a drink on it, cry a little, and it would just keep going — emotionally and musically.

SEE ALSO: The best Apple deals in Amazon's Big Spring Sale: New iPads and M4 MacBook Airs are already on sale

In my opinion, the Bluetooth multi-connection is the most underrated flex. Two phones can take turns queuing up music without awkwardly unpairing and re-pairing every time someone wants to play their song. This should be standard, but it isn’t, and that’s why I love it here.

  • Price: $197.99 $697.99

  • Retailer: Amazon

  • Output Power: 240W bi-directional sound

  • Battery Life: Up to 18 hours

  • Water Resistance: IPX5-rated

  • Lighting: Party Light+ with ambient, dance, and party modes

  • Connectivity: Bluetooth multi-connection (two devices)

  • Extras: Mic input for karaoke, Group Play with up to 10 speakers

If your speakers sound like they belong in a dentist’s office, this is your moment. The Spring Sale ends tonight, and this kind of deal doesn't exactly come with a raincheck.

Amazon’s Spring Sale ends soon, and I want this heavily discounted ELEGOO robot kit more than I should

Mashable - 7 hours 31 min ago

SAVE $29: As of March 31, the ELEGOO Tumbller Robot Kit is $55.99 — $29 off its $84.99 list price in the Amazon Spring Sale.

Opens in a new window Credit: Elegoo ELEGOO Tumbller Robot Kit $55.99 at Amazon
$84.99 Save $29.00 Get Deal

It’s the final hours of Amazon’s Spring Sale, and the clock is ticking down on deals I didn’t know I needed until 10 minutes ago. Case in point: the ELEGOO Tumbller robot kit. It’s a self-balancing, LED-blinking, obstacle-dodging STEM toy that’s somehow only $55.99 (down from $84.99), and I’m seriously considering buying one just to justify my Prime membership.

This thing isn’t just cute, it’s clever. Once you build it using the step-by-step illustrated manual (which even I could probably follow without crying), it comes to life with features like auto-follow, bouncing mode, and a light show straight out of a Daft Punk concert. You can even control it via an app, so naturally, your phone becomes a robot remote. I don’t know about you, but that’s enough to make me ignore whatever adult responsibilities I had planned today.

SEE ALSO: The best Apple deals in Amazon's Big Spring Sale: New iPads and M4 MacBook Airs are already on sale

In my opinion, the best part is that it’s Arduino-compatible. That means you can hack it, recode it, and add sensors to make it do more tricks. It’s a great way to sneak programming into a fun weekend project — ideal if you're trying to trick a kid into learning something or just want to flex some DIY skills without committing to a full-blown drone.

  • Price: $55.99 $84.99

  • Retailer: Amazon

  • Recommended Age: 8 to 16 years

  • Compatibility: Arduino IDE, customizable with additional sensors

  • Features: Self-balancing, auto-follow, bouncing mode, multicolor LED lights, obstacle avoidance

  • App Support: ElegooKit app for phone control

  • Learning Focus: STEM, robotics, hands-on programming

I get that it’s technically meant for kids ages eight to 16, but if you think that’s going to stop me from building a tiny robot to chase my dog around the apartment, you’ve got another thing coming. And again, this deal disappears tonight when the Amazon Spring Sale wraps up, so if you’re even remotely tempted, now’s the time to click “Add to Cart.”

Samsung’s 1000R curved screen matches the arc of the human eye for ultra-immersive viewing, while the Quantum HDR2000 tech offers peak brightness up to 2,000 nits. • Price: $699.99 $1,299.99

  • Retailer: Amazon

  • Screen Size: 32 inches

  • Resolution: 4K UHD (2160p)

  • Refresh Rate: 240Hz

Hurdle hints and answers for March 31, 2025

Mashable - 12 hours 17 min ago

If you like playing daily word games like Wordle, then Hurdle is a great game to add to your routine.

There are five rounds to the game. The first round sees you trying to guess the word, with correct, misplaced, and incorrect letters shown in each guess. If you guess the correct answer, it'll take you to the next hurdle, providing the answer to the last hurdle as your first guess. This can give you several clues or none, depending on the words. For the final hurdle, every correct answer from previous hurdles is shown, with correct and misplaced letters clearly shown.

An important note is that the number of times a letter is highlighted from previous guesses does necessarily indicate the number of times that letter appears in the final hurdle.

If you find yourself stuck at any step of today's Hurdle, don't worry! We have you covered.

The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7: Whats Gregs plan? Is Belinda safe?

Mashable - Sun, 03/30/2025 - 22:00

Greg/Gary (Jon Gries) has been a creepy spectre haunting The White Lotus since Season 1, and getting more and more sinister with each passing season.

But after White Lotus worker Belinda (Natasha Rothwell) clocks him as the husband of Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in Season 3, rightly assuming he had a hand in her death in order to inherit her vast fortune, it seems like Belinda may now be at risk from him herself.

So what happened between Greg and Belinda in episode 7, and what could it mean for the finale? Let's dive in.

SEE ALSO: 'The White Lotus' star Jon Gries may have just revealed something about Greg's Season 3 fate What happens between Greg and Belinda in episode 7?

After reluctantly attending a dinner party at his house, Belinda is pulled aside by Greg for extremely loaded conversation in private.

"So you know who I am," he says. "And I'm sure you also know that something very tragic happened to my wife, Tanya. I had nothing to do with it, to make that clear! It was getting very complicated back home and I just didn't want to spend the rest of my life dealing with legal shit, and lawyers, and people making assumptions. I love Thailand. Love the people. I bought this house. I'm happy. I want to live the rest of my life right here. And I just don't want to have any more headaches, if I can help it."

It sounds like he's building up to a threat, but then Greg suddenly changes tack and makes Belinda an offer: $100,000 that she can put towards the business she spoke to Tanya about in Season 1.

"Tanya would have wanted that," says Greg. "And I know that she would also want me to spend the rest of my years in peace. Maybe in exchange, you can honor that."

Belinda's response? "I need to sleep on it."

Belinda isn't sure about taking the money. Credit: Fabio Lovino / HBO Is Greg going to kill Belinda if she refuses his deal?

As much as Greg appears to be understanding of Belinda's request to think about the offer, it's clear from his ominously blank gaze as he watches her leave his party that he's anything but.

Belinda's son Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) thinks he'll come after them both if she refuses his terms, but will Greg actually go to the murderous lengths he suggests?

It's impossible to say for certain, but the short answer is probably. From a moral perspective we already know Greg has no issue arranging to have someone killed, and now that he has a vast fortune he likely has even greater means to do it. He's a cunning character only interested in himself, and with the life he's built in Thailand he has a lot to lose. Would he pay for one more murder to avoid his past catching up with him? Almost certainly.

If we had to guess, we'd say that Greg already has a backup plan for what he'll do if Belinda refuses the money. We'll have to wait for the finale to find out exactly what that is — and whether Mike White will risk riots with the death of yet another beloved character, especially one whose future with spa manager Pornchai (Dom Hetrakul) is our top priority.

The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7: Did Jim Hollinger really kill Ricks dad?

Mashable - Sun, 03/30/2025 - 22:00

The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7 finally gives the show's most miserable character a bit of closure.

After some crafty scheming, Rick (Walton Goggins) and his friend Frank (Sam Rockwell) travel to the fancy Bangkok residence of wealthy White Lotus hotel owners Sritala (Lek Patravadi) and Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn) — the man Rick is convinced murdered his father.

Rick finally gets the confrontation he's long dreamed of, but it almost feels like the scene raises more questions than it gives answers. So did Jim really kill Rick's dad? Let's recap.

SEE ALSO: 'The White Lotus' Season 3 soundtrack is a treasure trove of Thai music What happens between Rick and Jim Hollinger in episode 7?

After breaking away from Sritala and Frank, Rick and Jim head inside to have a conversation about doing business in Thailand.

Rick looks at black-and-white photos of a younger Jim with various important figures, all the while circling around the topic of the things he has and hasn't done in order to build and maintain his empire. Finally the tension comes to a head. Rick accuses Jim of having his father killed "over a land deal or some shit," explaining that his mother told him what happened as she was dying. Jim's only response before Rick gets a gun out? Silence, other than eventually repeating the name of Rick's mother – "Gloria Hatchett?" – with an emphasis that could imply he knows her, or could imply he's never heard of her.

Rick seems happy with how the interaction went afterwards, but the unanswered question remains: Did Jim Hollinger really have his father killed?

Did Jim Hollinger really kill Rick's dad?

Let's look at the evidence for and against. On the one hand, Jim doesn't exactly do himself any favors during the conversation he has with Rick in the den.

"This is a great country," Jim growls. "And back then, not much red tape. You hit a road block, you had a lot of options."

"And if somebody got in your way?" responds Rick. "Made your life difficult?"

"Lots of ways to take care of that," says Jim. "I'm more careful now."

Talking about "ways to take care of" people getting in the way definitely makes Jim sound a bit murder-y, but it's possible we're just seeing him through Rick's lens. It sounds sinister because he's been built up as a killer throughout Season 3, but he could just as easily be talking about threatening people, or even simply circumventing them using his political connections.

The only other evidence we really have to go on is his reaction to Rick's accusation. The problem? Jim doesn't say all that much, and he does do an excellent job of giving very little away.

Ultimately, it's still not really possible to say whether or not he's guilty of the crime Rick suspects him of. Our best guess is that Rick's actions in episode 7 will catch up with him when he returns to the White Lotus in the finale — and maybe, just maybe, there will be some kind of twist in the Hollinger/Hatchett tale.

The White Lotus Season 3: I have a theory about Jim Hollinger

Mashable - Sun, 03/30/2025 - 22:00

In The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7, Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins) finally comes face to face with Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn), the man he believes murdered his father.

However, friends, the confrontation doesn't go the violent way we — and Rick's friend Frank (Sam Rockwell) — think it will go. And personally, this confirms a wild theory I've been mulling over the whole season: Who really is Jim Hollinger? Are we done with this man or is there more to the story?

Let's get all Poirot on the facts and see if I'm right by the finale.

Having successfully talked their way into the sprawling Bangkok residence of White Lotus owners Sritala (Lek Patravadi) and Jim Hollinger, Rick and Frank give one hell of a shaky performance as a Hollywood producer/director team pitching a fake movie.

Rick's sown the seeds for this meeting all season, tracking Jim to the White Lotus, introducing himself to Sritala at breakfast in episode 3, and tracking Jim to Bangkok. We've known since episode 4, after Rick's yacht conversation with his girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood), that Rick believes Jim is the man who murdered his father — it's why they're at the Thailand White Lotus at all.

In episode 7, making an excuse to leave Sritala and Frank to "bond as artists," Rick suggests he and Jim speak about business in Thailand in his host's den, and after a tense conversation in which Jim mentions he has two daughters, Rick confronts his Boogeyman.

"I've always wanted to meet you. The very first time I heard your name I was 10 years old when my mother was dying," Rick says. "I have fantasised about this moment a thousand times."

When Jim asks what's going on, Rick replies with his mother's name, Gloria Hatchett, hoping to trigger a memory. "It seems like you should remember, she had a husband, you had him killed over some land deal or some shit," Rick says, as Jim appears puzzled. "He was a good man, but I didn't get to meet him because you're a piece of shit."

Rick then pulls a gun on Jim, telling him he ruined his life. "You may not remember him but you're sure as fuck gonna remember me."

In a moment of clarity, Rick walks out of there without shooting Jim, only pushing him over in his chair, after which he grabs Frank and they drive into the sunset for a night of partying wherein no drug on Earth could give Rick a bigger high than pure closure.

But are we actually done here? I THINK NOT.

What do we know about Rick's father's death? "My father was here trying to do the right thing, and one day he disappeared. They never found him." Credit: Fabio Lovino / HBO

The main things we know about Rick's father's death are from episode 4, in which Rick says he came to Thailand "to help these locals keep a shitty American from stealing their land — I really don't know all the details. But my father was here trying to do the right thing, and one day he disappeared. They never found him."

Rick also talks about his father being murdered during his stress management session with meditation teacher Dr. Amrita (Shalini Peiris) in episode 2. Here, Rick reveals that his father was killed before he was born. Did Jim murder Rick's father for meddling in a land grab? Or is there more to the story?

As he tells Jim, Rick says that his mother, Gloria, who died when he was 10 from a drug overdose, gave him the name of his father's murderer on her deathbed: Jim Hollinger.

However, here's my theory...

Is Jim Hollinger Rick's actual father? Papa! Credit: Fabio Lovino / HBO

Friends, I suggest to you this: Rick's father never died, in fact, he's IN THIS VERY ROOM. J'accuse!

I argue that Jim Hollinger is actually Rick's dad, and that Rick's mother, heartbroken from Jim perhaps leaving her before Rick was born, lied to her son on her deathbed as a final act of revenge. Rick doesn't have any other information about his father other than he was "a good man" and that he was murdered by some guy called Jim Hollinger who owns a fancy hotel in Thailand. But he never mentions his father's name, nor do we see a photograph of him.

When Rick arrives at the Hollingers' estate, you could argue Jim recognises a part of him straight away, or sees some resemblance to Gloria. Glenn's performance here is deliberately hard to read but he gazes at Rick like a familiar face; meanwhile Rick is shellshocked at the reality of the man he built up in his head.

During their confrontation in the den, Jim is again ambiguous in his reactions, though he errs on the side of not remembering. Is it an act? The way Jim says Rick's mother's name – "Gloria Hatchett" – back to Rick, to me isn't a moment of forgetfulness, it's a revelation to JIm. I suggest Jim remembers Gloria in this moment, but before he can process it, Rick's got a gun in his face.

Is Jim Rick's dad? Why did Gloria give Rick Jim's name on her deathbed? Does Sritala know anything? Does Rick have sisters?! We're likely to find out more in the finale, when we can finally bury the Hatchett.

The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7: Youve heard Sritalas song before

Mashable - Sun, 03/30/2025 - 22:00

If you're watching The White Lotus Season 3, episode 7, you might hear a familiar song.

In the scenes involving Rick (Walton Goggins) and Frank's (Sam Rockwell) Hollywood production ploy to get into Sritala (Lek Patravadi) and Jim Hollinger's (Scott Glenn) Bangkok mansion, there's a moment that not only connects the episode to a previous episode of The White Lotus, but connects to Patravadi's real singing career.

Let's get into it.

Having successfully talked his way into the Hollinger's sprawling Bangkok residence, Rick convinces Jim (the man he believes murdered his father) to take their own conversation into the den.

Meanwhile, Sritala and Frank (posing as Hollywood director Steve) continue their own chat about the potential of casting the White Lotus owner and famous Thai actor and singer in an upcoming blockbuster that doesn't exist. Keeping up the ruse of interest in Sritala's career, Frank finds himself in the living room watching old videos of Sritala performing a folk/rap number on a TV show from when she was 25 years old, surrounded by dancers.

"Thats you? You're right there? You're the one with the rhinestones?" asks Frank. "I mean, it's like MC Hammer, Peter Pan, it's got a little Pippin."

And it's this song you could have heard before, both within and outside The White Lotus.

Where have you heard Sritala's song before? Rick (Walton Goggins) and Sritala (Lek Patravadi). Credit: Courtesy of HBO

The song Sritala shows Frank is the very same song she sings onstage at the The White Lotus restaurant in episode 2. But it's also a real clip of Patravadi (the iconic Thai actor and singer who also goes by Patravadi "Lek" Mejudhon) performing the song on her own TV show in 1992. You can watch the clip she watches with Frank here:

Patravadi and her team had conversations with The White Lotus music supervisor Gabe Hilfer during the pre-production period, and the lauded artist ended up returning to the studio to revisit the song just for the show.

"She re-recorded that song for us in episode 2," Hilfer told Mashable. "We had her do a couple other songs, and she recorded them for us, but we didn't end up using them…They were great, her versions were incredible, but the way that that whole sequence got edited down, it lent itself to only having that one song in there."

Knowing that Patravadi is actually watching herself on TV from a previous part of both her and Sritala's career in the episode 7 scene makes it all the more charming, as Rockwell rightfully dubs her character an "icon" as he leaves. It feels like Mike White and The White Lotus itself pay homage to a screen and stage legend with this musical Easter egg, a delightful inclusion.
