It's Pride Month, and although LGBTQ daters are queer all year, the spotlight is on them this June. As such, Hinge just published its annual D.A.T.E. (Data, Advice, Trends, and Expertise) Report to lay out what dating is currently like for today's queer singles.
The title of this year's report is "Clarity Builds Chemistry," and it discusses the uncertainty young LGBTQ daters feel. (Not surprising, considering the amount of uncertainty in the world at large right now, that it'd distill into individuals' personal lives.)
SEE ALSO: Gay dating app Sniffies just got $100 million from Match GroupIn its Jan. 2026 survey of over 31,000 global respondents, Hinge found that more LGBTQ daters feel a lot or great uncertainty about the world than heterosexual daters (76 to 52 percent, respectively), but they can also find uncertainty helpful. Seventy-four percent of LGBTQ daters say uncertainty helps them understand what they're looking for in relationships. Uncertainty contributes to these daters identifying dealbreakers, clarifying their preferences, and identifying what feels right vs. wrong.
Community also helps LGBTQ daters. Hinge found that queer daters are asking, "Would I bring this persona around my friends?" rather than, "What are we?" This might be because of the importance of chosen family for young LGBTQ people.
As such, queer daters are 33 percent more likely than straight daters to say it matters that their friends like the person they're dating (this rises to 37 percent for trans daters). They're also 20 percent more likely to want to check whether a potential partner fits with their friend circle. In a world of uncertainty, having a solid support system is crucial.
Hinge found that consistency also puts LGBTQ daters at ease in their uncertain world: 86 percent said consistent communication from someone they're starting to date makes them feel less anxious. Seventy-eight percent said making clear plans also makes them feel less anxious (compared to 56 percent of heterosexual daters).
PDA in an early relationship helps over half (65 percent) of LGBTQ daters feel more secure, but they're 50 percent more likely than straight daters to hesitate to show affection on the first date because they feel unsafe in their surroundings. Hinge's love and connection expert, Moe Ari Brown, wrote that, "You don't have to share the same comfort level to have a great date: staying present and responsive turns a potential point of tension into a moment of real connection."
"Asking one another what kinds of affection feel good in public — and which feel better in private — keeps PDA grounded in reassurance," Brown continued.
And forget the timelines. More LGBTQ daters, especially bisexual daters (76 percent and 83 percent), focus on slowly building a connection with someone rather than moving on a certain timeline than straight daters (64 percent). Overall, LGBTQ daters are also more likely to say that settling down isn't a step, but a mindset.
The findings are in contrast to Hinge's Nov. 2025 D.A.T.E. report, which was all about communication and AI. Less than a year later, daters — especially LGBTQ ones — are more focused on clarity, whether that's in public displays of affection, or private affirmations.

AT&T has partnered with Disney and Pixar for Toy Story 5-themed store takeovers, coming to select cities and AT&T stores starting June 8. The immersive campaign is designed to bring Bonnie's room into AT&T stores to create "places families can explore together," according to a press release shared with Mashable.
In addition, AT&T has created an animated TV spot featuring Bonnie and other characters from the franchise, and the company will host special screenings of the movie over the summer at its Connected Learning Centers around the country.
The in-store takeovers will feature limited-edition Toy Story 5 merchandise, kid-friendly photo opportunities, hands-on experiences with amiGO Jr. devices, and visuals of characters like Woody, Bullseye, and Jessie both inside and outside the store.

VidCon, the world’s largest annual celebration of digital culture and its creators, is back this year in Anaheim, where we can expect to see top creators like aimsey, Brandon Rogers, James Seo, Rosanna Pansino, and more.
The three-day event kicks off on Thursday, June 24, and runs through Saturday, June 27. Interested attendees can purchase either a single-day ticket for Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or a three-day pass for the entire weekend.

What are the different ticket tiers?In addition to single-day passes, VidCon currently offers three-day passes across four tiers: the VidCon pass, the VidCon+ pass, the Creator pass, and the Pro pass.
The VidCon and VidCon+ passes are for fans who want to attend the convention. VidCon pass holders receive access to meet-and-greet signups, presale merchandise, Fan Track programming, Expo Hall experiences, the Live Podcast Studio, the VidCon opening celebration, VidCon After Dark programming, and the VidCon Streetfest on Saturday, June 27.
The VidCon+ pass offers all the benefits of a VidCon pass, plus a few extra perks: an additional meet-and-greet, 30 minutes of early entry to the Expo Hall, a 15 percent discount on merchandise, and early access to VidCon's opening celebration. The VidCon+ pass also offers an exclusive registration counter, building entrance, badge, merch pack, and pick-up counter.
The other two tiers are the Creator pass, geared towards creators, and the Pro pass, geared towards "digital media and creator economy pros."
The Creator pass offers VidCon pass perks, in addition to access to the Mentorship series, three days of Creator Pass programming, Creator HQ, exclusive access to a new networking tool, and the Creator reception.

The Pro pass also offers all the perks of the VidCon and Creator passes.
Is there a family bundle or group rate?VidCon offers a four-ticket family bundle for a single day of your choice. The tickets are VidCon passes, but do not include access to meet-and-greet signups or GorillaCon.
Larger groups of eight or more can also purchase VidCon or Creator passes, with increasing discounts starting at 10 percent off, depending on group size.
Groups of five or more purchasing Pro passes will automatically receive a $100 discount per ticket at the time of purchase.
What if I want to step up my experience at VidCon?VidCon also offers more curated experiences for interested attendees, such as "Ultimate" meet-and-greet sessions and GorillaCon.
A select number of creators are participating in Ultimate meet-and-greet sessions, which are described as more exclusive, interactive experiences for fans.
Attendees are also welcome to bundle their passes with GorillaCon, the first live event celebrating a virtual reality game called Gorilla Tag. Access to Ultimate meet-and-greet sessions and GorillaCon is purchased separately, in addition to VidCon passes.
