Microsoft will stop supporting Office apps on Windows 10 this year. Also it really wants you to upgrade to Windows 11.

According to a Microsoft blog post, the company will end support for Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 10 on Oct. 14, 2025. That includes Office apps: Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive.

But that doesn't mean your apps will stop working when the deadline hits. A Microsoft support page spotted by The Verge said "the applications will continue to function as before. However, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 11 to avoid performance and reliability issues over time." So because Microsoft will no longer maintain them after the cutoff date, the apps will gradually get buggier.

Microsoft has been pushing hard for PC users to upgrade to Windows 11. The latest operating system has been out since 2021, but the vast majority of users still use its predecessor. According to Statcounter, 63 percent still run Windows 10, while only 34 percent have upgraded to Windows 11. The low adoption rate is largely due to Windows 11 system requirements like a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) that PC users are unable or unwilling to comply with.

Nonetheless, Microsoft has made it clear that upgrading is the only option. Especially since Windows 11 has Copilot AI features that the company has spent the last few years developing and aggressively promoting.

In October 2024, Microsoft first announced the end of Windows 10 support, and is calling 2025, "the year of the Windows 11 PC refresh," instead of advancing the OS timeline with Windows 12.

Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena (Peacemaker, Ricky Stanicky) adds "talk show host" to his resume with the release of his upcoming Roku series What Drives You, which should appeal to car lovers and wrestling fans.

In What Drives You, Cena meets up with celebrities at their homes, studios, and garages to learn about their favorite cars, take them out for a spin, and hear stories about why these vehicles mean so much to their owners. Except instead of comedians, the guests include YouTuber turned pro wrestler Logan Paul, country star Jelly Roll, Cena's former WWE rival The Miz, and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

Across its eight-episode first season, What Drives You will take Cena from Los Angeles to Puerto Rico to Nashville and beyond, and will feature cars like a Tesla Model X Plaid, a Buick GNX, and a Ford Bronco.

What Drives You premieres Jan. 21 on the Roku Channel.

Jeff Bezos' new rocket, taller than the Statue of Liberty, has blasted into space.

The giant 320-foot-tall New Glenn rocket, named for legendary U.S. astronaut John Glenn, achieved a successful maiden launch after launching from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station just after 2 a.m. ET on Jan. 16, 2025. The Blue Origin rocket, designed to have a reusable first stage powered by seven powerful engines, provides valuable competition in the rapidly-evolving rocket industry.

The rocket has been in development for over a decade. So this was a much anticipated launch.

"We did it! Orbital. Great night for Team Blue," Dave Limp, Blue Origin's CEO, posted online after the launch.

"On to spring and trying again on the landing," Limp added, referencing the ambitious but unsuccessful attempt to land the rocket's first stage on the droneship Jacklyn in the Atlantic Ocean. This is no easy feat; it took SpaceX many tries to land a booster.

By 2026, Blue Origin hopes to kick up its launch cadence significantly, launching up to twice a month.

The company's rocket factory is nine miles from the launch pad you see above, which would allow Blue Origin to rapidly refurbish and deliver rockets to the Space Force base.

New Glenn, after a successful first launch, will compete with the heavy-lift rockets of SpaceX, a company that has come to dominate the rocket industry.

If Season 2 of XO, Kitty wanted to end each episode, not just one, with Aespa’s "Drama" it would work.

Given a second, post-expulsion chance at the fictional ​​Korean Independent School of Seoul (yes, KISS), Kitty is determined to start fresh this term — academically, romantically, generally. She's reunited with her beloved athletic bestie Q (Anthony Keyvan), on relatively good terms with her sweet, heartbroken ex Dae (Minyeong Choi), and determined to move on from her mega crush on Yuri (Gia Kim), the latter potentially helped with the introduction of American student Praveena (Sasha Bhasin). 

Multiple spanners in the works? Yuri's girlfriend Juliana (Regan Aliyah) is back at KISS and they're living through the honeymoon phase together as Kitty's roommates — yeah, she's totally fine with it, cool, cool, cool. Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee) dropped the truth bomb shipping dreams were made of on Kitty in the Season 1 finale, and he’s struggling with all that while managing the sudden, backup dancer-flanked arrival of his star talent manager father (Philippe Lee) at the school. Plus, Kitty's new roommate Stella (Audrey Huynh) has a few secrets of her own behind that pious facade.

When I tell you that every single one of these characters ends up in a complicated romantic situation this season, I am underplaying it. Yuri and Juliana are finally able to be themselves together within their friend group, which means the show is actually able to develop their relationship beyond Season 1's banishment storyline. After his romance with Florian ended last season, Q is given a sweet enemies-to-lovers narrative when he's not trying to keep Kitty out of trouble. And privileged prince Min Ho clings to his signature posh bravado and a new love interest to keep those pesky true feelings hidden.

These are mere starting points for the characters orbiting our protagonist, whose own storyline fluctuates between romantic love and a determination to reunite her family — and it's here the season actually answers outstanding questions from Season 1.

In every episode of XO, Kitty, someone ends up needing to apologise to someone else — and that person is pretty much always our girl Kitty. Sometimes it's warranted, sometimes she's unfairly branded a pariah, other times it's a bit of both. But what XO, Kitty does is give us a flawed, complex teen heroine making mistake after mistake — and actually taking responsibility for her actions. Like fellow Netflix teen series Never Have I Ever, XO, Kitty leans into its protagonist's imperfections and impulsive decisions — and Cathcart does an excellent job keeping Kitty true to her insatiable desire to be liked, accepted, and included. It's relatable stuff.

Most of Kitty's time at school is spent suppressing her feelings for Yuri, exploring something new with Praveena, and figuring out what's going on with Min Ho after the plane moment. But unlike last season, Kitty's meddling and matchmaking skills are held mostly for her reuniting her long-estranged family this time. In Season 1, Kitty's search for her mother Eve's past at KISS led her instead to uncover life-changing details about Eve's friends, so in Season 2, Han and Rothchild refocus on the Song family — meaning some pretty moving scenes for Kitty, and a surprise cameo from Janel Parrish as her sister Margot. But it's not the only To All The Boys... cameo here.

Though we don't get a Lara Jean cameo this season as rumoured, we get the next best thing: a Peter Kavinsky drop-in. The internet's unrivalled boyfriend of 2018, Noah Centineo turns up this season of XO, Kitty, and it's one of those rare moments where giving the people what they want also works for the narrative.

Peter arrives at the boiling point of Kitty's personal drama, and it's a moment of relief and perspective not only for the protagonist but also the viewer. Kitty's not-yet-brother-in-law (they're only 22!) happens to be in town for some shoehorned sports related reason, but his role in the episode is to ask the quiet parts out loud for our turbulent people-pleaser. Who's that guy who's obviously in love with you? Where are you at with your roommate situation? Would you like a hug even though everyone's mad at you? It's a welcome, familiar check-in and the series benefits from it.

XO, Kitty returns with all the sweetness, fun, and romantic mayhem of the first season, diving further into the characters' relationships with each other and Kitty's determination to find connection with her extended family. One for the fans, it's good to be back at KISS.

Thank goodness Nintendo officially unveiled the Switch 2 on Thursday morning, so we can finally talk about it without resorting to rumors and leaks.

Nintendo pulled the curtain off its newest home/handheld console, and just like everyone expected, it's a beefier, more powerful Nintendo Switch. The two-minute reveal trailer is tantalizingly short on substantial information on the console, unfortunately. Aside from a look at what it looks like and a tease of one new game, there isn't much to talk about.

But let's talk about it anyway. Here is everything new you can see in the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer.

The big question with every new Nintendo console is "what weird stuff do the controllers do now?"

With the first Switch, the "gimmick" (if that's even the right word) was that they could detach from the base unit and be used either as two separate controllers, or together as one. That appears to still be the case with Switch 2, but there are some very noteworthy differences this time around. For starters, they attach to the system magnetically now, as opposed to sliding onto and off of a rail like they did before.

That's just a minor procedural change, though. Beyond that, there's a mysterious new button on the right Joy-Con underneath the home button. It's unmarked, though the internet has taken to calling it the "C" button. I've seen speculation that it could have something to do with voice chat, and that would make some sense, but nothing is confirmed yet.

The real juice, though, lies in the fact that the Joy-Cons can apparently be used like computer mice. The video isn't super explicit about this, but at one point, the Joy-Cons slide across a flat surface, with the part that attaches to the Switch 2 face-down. Over the past few weeks, there have been a lot of rumors suggesting there would be mouse functionality on the new Joy-Cons, and I can't think of any reason for Nintendo to include that bit in the video if that weren't the case.

This isn't a surprise or anything, but the actual unit looks to be 15-to-20 percent bigger than the original Switch. Part of that is the display, which we don't have precise measurements for yet. However, it looks massive compared to the old Switch, with thinner bezels that make it more of an edge-to-edge display than what the original Switch had.

Not much more to say about this, really. That screen looks a lot bigger and better. Hopefully it's sharper than 720p this time.

This will undoubtedly get buried underneath the more substantial and exciting changes, but the Switch 2 has a full-body kickstand now instead of the flimsy little thing the original Switch had. My launch Switch's kickstand broke after like three months, and I don't think I ever even used it as intended. This one will presumably be more durable.

Mario Kart 9, presumably

Last but certainly not least, there was a very quick glance at one new video game in this trailer. Yes, just one, and it's not much.

That is definitely a new Mario Kart game. Take it from me, a person who has played like 300 hours of Mario Kart 8: This is different. Donkey Kong has been redesigned to look more like he did in the movie, there appear to be more racers on the track than before, and the track itself looks very large. There's also a roadside diner in the shape of Yoshi's head, which is adorable.

I really, really wish Nintendo had shown us more, as there wasn't a single new or surprising thing in this video. We'll just have to wait until April 2, when Nintendo has confirmed there will be a Direct to explain and expand upon all of this.

Ahead of a Supreme Court ruling, they are mocking U.S. national security concerns about the Chinese-owned app.

"Do a lot of people go missing around here?"

That's the ominous question Clover (Ella Rubin) asks a surly stranger (Peter Stormare) while searching for her lost sister. And for those who've played Supermassive Games' Until Dawn, the answer is clear and creepy. But the trailer for the movie adaptation from director David F. Sandberg (Shazam!, Lights Out) reveals some new twists and curious changes made from the popular PlayStation game. For one, the setting won't be a remote family cabin in snowy mountains, but a visitor's center in a foggy valley. Still, this horror story will follow a group of young friends who face a night of abject terror and many chances to die.

However, as teased in the film's first look, a thrilling element of game play will factor into this Until Dawn movie. The characters don't just die. Like in the game, they get premonitions of their potential fates, and even the chance to try again to best the masked madmen (and other fearsome foes) they might face. While this might hurt the stakes of the premise, it also means way more gore for audiences to enjoy and more chances for spooky subgenres to collide. Looks like Until Dawn just leveled up.

Until Dawn comes exclusively to theaters on April 25.

Making an online dating profile can feel like creating a Sim for yourself. You list your hobbies, whether you want kids, if you drink or smoke, and other personal details about yourself to be scrutinised by a pool of potential partners. But once the chat turns from getting to know each other, to setting a date to meet in real life, when does sharing who you are veer into oversharing? 

How we put ourselves forward online is one thing, but if your ultimate goal in dating is to get into a relationship, what are the rules for oversharing once you actually get into one? Is there such a thing as telling your prospective partner too much?

Oversharing on the FYP — why do we do it?

With cuffing season — the time of year which typically starts in mid-October and ends after Valentine's Day — well underway, you may suddenly see an influx of matches or newly formed couples on your Instagram feed. That's not a coincidence, and you're not imagining it. Finding love (or wanting to) during cuffing season is well-documented. This need to couple up and find a mate in the colder months also comes down to our biology, with a drop in serotonin levels causing us to seek out connection. 

But are we giving too much of ourselves away to form connections? Oversharing details about ourselves and being transparent about our past experiences are very different.

Jasmine Denike grew her audience on TikTok with her coveted London dating diaries series, where she unpacked her experience using dating apps as a post-grad student in London. She describes the experience as oversharing and exposing herself to the sometimes harsh TikTok algorithm. 

Before she had an online audience of almost 18,000 people, which grew thanks to her dating diary videos going viral, she openly shared details about her partners on social media. It was the deterioration of those relationships that made her rethink how much she shares. "Having to scrub them from my feed afterwards, it made me rethink this relationship and wanting to keep things 'private, but not secret,'" she explains.

Denike has never shared personal details about her current partner. "But I'd talk about what we were doing, how I felt about him and exposed myself to the unforgiving audience that is the TikTok for you page," she reveals. "Shockingly, despite sharing my dating journey entirely online I'd classify my relationship as being very private."

Despite bad experiences from her previous relationships, she found that her online presence increased her confidence when dating. "It made me more comfortable opening up because I'd already shared what I was telling them," she says. "I was lucky enough that through it all, I met someone who was happy with my oversharing because he knew that I valued his privacy and I showed him respect for his boundaries."

'Trauma sharing' with new partners

Oversharing online is one thing, but what about oversharing with a new person we're dating? "It's important to assess why we want to overshare and tell new people a lot of personal information so soon," says counsellor Georgina Sturmer. On the topic of confidence, Sturmer is passionate about helping women to build their confidence and resilience. She believes that when getting to know someone new, there has to be a certain level of vulnerability when letting someone in. 

When oversharing, "are we hoping that the other person will rescue us, or look after us, or act as a sponge to soak up our feelings?" Sturmer asks. "Or are we sending out a test balloon, to try to identify if we can trust them and if they will listen?"

This, she says, is when sharing in person and sharing online differ. The initial "in the moment" feeling we have when sharing a thought or moment online can feel cathartic, but when it's being reviewed and replayed by strangers, the narrative of its meaning is outside of our control. 

"Our digital footprint can last a lifetime, so if we meet someone in real life who knows us online, they might already have plenty of in-depth knowledge of what we have been through. It can remove those initial, gentle layers that are involved in getting to know someone in a relationship."

Sharing our past, as Sturmer says, can feel like a way to connect or subconsciously scope out whether or not the other person has what we need to be supported and understood. After all, modern dating can often entail meeting up with and getting to know multiple people in a short time frame, so if you're intentionally dating intending to find a relationship then keeping those wants and needs in mind is key. 

Dr. Carolyn Keenan, a clinical psychologist, suggests balancing holding back on certain topics that can leave you feeling vulnerable and finding a healthy middle ground. 

"It's about finding the right balance — once trust and mutual respect are established, you may feel more comfortable discussing deeper issues. The goal is to create an environment where honesty and vulnerability can develop over time," she says.

Keenan used the term "trauma sharing" to mean trauma dumping. Trauma sharing, she says, can create a false sense of intimacy; sharing parts of ourselves and our stories with new people is a way of trying to show them who we are beyond surface-level appearances or interactions. 

"It's important to be mindful about how much trauma becomes a focal point in the relationship. Bonding over positive experiences, shared values, and future goals can create a more balanced and healthier connection while bonding solely over trauma may build a relationship on unstable emotional foundations."

Trauma dumping online can feel safer for some people, but our digital body language may say even more about us early on. A recent study from Hinge revealed that everything from the emojis people use to the length of messages determines whether or not app users want to meet the person they're speaking to — nearly 56 percent of participants admitted to overanalysing someone's DBL and not meeting them. 

So, why do we feel the need to overshare so soon if we're judging one another so harshly? Paul Brunson, Tinder's global relationship insights expert calls this "cobwebbing."

"We're encouraged to clear the cobwebs of our pasts to move on and be present in our new relationships," he explains. "Holding onto those past experiences, people, even the animate objects from that time can cause us to hold back from making new, genuine connections."

When should we open up to a new partner?

Exposing our past and all the skeletons in our closets too soon can run the risk of oversharing and becoming too vulnerable too quickly. But is sharing the nitty gritty parts of our past trauma dumping or just a part of opening up in a new relationship?

Brunson believes that, when it comes to sharing our trauma, discussing our past including the difficult parts, can offer an opportunity to grow as a couple and deepen our understanding of our partners. 

"When we share our stories, we create a space for empathy and connection. Vulnerability helps build emotional intimacy, which is key to developing a solid foundation in any relationship," he says. "It’s important to balance vulnerability with emotional readiness with respect. The right match will be more interested in where you’re headed than where you’ve been."

Perhaps the reason oversharing online and via social media feels safe to some is because there is no immediate response to it. There might be comments, likes, or DMs, but it's very different from sitting face-to-face with someone new and sharing a part of yourself and your past. 

Brunson advises tackling this by prioritising self-care and healing rather than using new people or social media to work through what's holding you back from meeting someone new. 

"Try to focus on the present and future, and ensure your relationships — both new and old, romantic or platonic — are based on current, positive interactions rather than past entanglements."
