GET $300 OFF: The Samsung Frame 55-inch QLED 4K Smart TV is on sale for $1,199.99 — save $300 or 20%.
Opens in a new window Credit: Samsung Samsung Frame 55-inch QLED 4K Smart TV $1,199.99 at TargetInnovation often springs from simple ideas. This is certainly true in the case of Samsung's Frame TV, which mimics a traditional picture frame and displays digital artwork or family photos when it's not streaming TV or movies.
Right now the Samsung Frame 55" QLED 4K Smart TV is on sale for $1199.99 at Target, for a savings of $300, or 20% off.
One of the features that makes The Frame so innovative is its anti-reflective matte finish. In Art Mode, this enhances the feeling that you're looking at a real painting or drawing. During playback, it reduces glare on the screen.
Built for image quality, The Frame displays 100% of the DCI-P3 color space in 4K QLED, giving you truly accurate (and beautiful) images. Displaying classic Breugel's or Titian's, you'll pick out the scumbling on a brown field, or the swath of blue across a Mediterranean sea scape.
Right now, get the Samsung Frame 55-inch QLED 4K Smart TV for $1199.99 at Target and save $300.
SEE ALSO: Rate your favorite smart home gear for a chance to win a $250 Amazon gift cardThe Frame isn't just for looking at art though, this TV also does TV really well. Gamers will love its 120 Hz screen refresh times that will keep them truly competitive in online play. It has Dolby Atmos sound, creating the feeling of verticality. A Quantum processor keeps the 4K image looking good, even on content that isn't naturally in 4K.
SAVE $100: As of Jan. 13, you can get the Apple iPad Mini (A17 Pro, 128GB, WiFi) for its lowest price ever: $399.
Opens in a new window Credit: Apple Apple iPad Mini (A17 Pro, 128GB, WiFi) $399.00 at AmazonIf you’ve been on the hunt for a new tablet, the iPad Mini (A17 Pro, 128GB, WiFi) just hit a new all-time low price at Amazon.
As of Jan. 13, you can snag this miniature tablet for just $399. That’s a $100 price cut or 20% off the list price. Note: This price is for the space gray model with 128GB of storage. If you want a fancier color, you'll need to pay a little bit more. Still, considering the iPad Mini (7th gen) launched in October 2024, that's a pretty good deal.
SEE ALSO: Rate your favorite smart home gear for a chance to win a $250 Amazon gift cardThe iPad Mini may be small, but it's mighty. It has an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display, an ultrafast A17 Pro chip, a 12MP Ultra Wide front camera with Center Stage, and WiFi 6E connectivity. (It’s also compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro.)
Even though this iPad runs on a phone chip (the same one that powers the iPhone 15 Pro), it’s still a solid tablet that can handle everyday tasks like web browsing, streaming, light gaming, and productivity just fine.
“If you're new to the iPad, and you want the most compact one around (or any compact tablet), the new iPad mini 7 is the best choice,” Mashable’s senior editor, Stan Schroeder, wrote in his review. “If you already rock the iPad mini 5th generation or earlier, it's also a no brainer; the new one looks better and is a lot more powerful.”
Save $100: As of Jan. 13 at Woot, you can grab the Shark FlexStyle for straight and wavy hair on sale for $199.99. That price saves you 33% on the multi-styler's $299.99 list price.
Opens in a new window Credit: Shark Shark FlexStyle for straight and wavy hair $199.99 at WootIf you've been going back and forth on whether to splurge on a Dyson Airwrap or grab the cheaper Shark FlexStyle, this might be your sign: the Shark FlexStyle is currently a third of the price of the Dyson Airwrap.
Yes, you read that right. Typically, opting for Shark's multi-styler at full price can save you half the price of the $600 Airwrap, but a deal at Woot as of Jan 13 brings the Shark FlexStyle down to an impressive $199.99. At the time of writing, Woot is the only retailer with this low of a price, bringing the FlexStyle to nearly back down its best price ever (second only to a $190 bundle deal Mashable spotted in June of last year).
SEE ALSO: Rate your favorite smart home gear for a chance to win a $250 Amazon gift cardAs Mashable's shopping reporter on the beauty tech beat, I practice and preach being skeptical of cheaper dupes. But having tried my fair share of Airwrap dupes, I can confidently say that Shark's is generally the best one for most people. When I've been asked by coworkers or friends if they should drop the cash on the Airwrap, I basically always make the case for giving the FlexStyle a chance instead.
Besides the money saved, Shark's tool can be used without attachments. They have an impressive attachment assortment that you can build on with individual purchases (and typically run about $10 cheaper per attachment than Dyson) and delivered nearly identical results when I tested the tools side by side. In my experience, the biggest edge Dyson has is that you don't have to swap the curling barrels to change the direction of the curl and the tool itself has a luxe (but not necessarily better constructed) feel.
SEE ALSO: I tried 5 Dyson Supersonic dupes that are actually worth the hypeIf that makes a $300 to $400 difference to you, then the Airwrap might be your best bet. But if you've been waiting to get a multi-styler at an affordable price point, $200 for the FlexStyle is rare — and hard to beat.

Mark Zuckerberg had some things to say about Apple on Joe Rogan's podcast.
Meta's CEO made a noteworthy appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" on Friday, which naturally spawned plenty of clips and quotes to discuss. The one we're focusing on concerns Apple, which Zuckerberg accused of lacking technical innovation since the iPhone's launch in 2007, per CNBC. According to Zuckerberg, the iPhone itself was a good thing for getting smartphones into people's hands, but Apple's business practices since then have been disappointing.
"But on the other hand...they have used that platform to put in place a lot of rules that I think feel arbitrary, and [I] feel like they haven’t really invented anything great in a while," Zuckerberg said on the podcast. "It’s like Steve Jobs invented the iPhone, and now they’re just kind of sitting on it 20 years later."
SEE ALSO: 8 ways Mark Zuckerberg changed Meta ahead of Trump’s inaugurationIt's worth noting that Apple has launched or helped popularize other popular device categories since 2007. While Apple didn't invent tablets or wireless earbuds, its iPad and AirPods lineups have become so synonymous with their respective product categories that people often say "iPad" or "AirPods" to refer to any old tablet or pair of earbuds.
Zuckerberg's larger point that none of that stuff has been as seismic as the iPhone still stands, but it's not like Apple has done nothing since 2007.
Of course, Zuckerberg had more to say. The Meta CEO criticized Apple for its "random rules," such as taking 30 percent of profits from apps on the iOS App Store or the inability of third-party devices to work seamlessly with iPhones like AirPods. In Zuckerberg's words, this is how Apple makes money in a world where iPhone sales are slowing down.
SEE ALSO: Mark Zuckerberg named in lawsuit over Meta’s use of pirated books for AI training"So how are they making more money as a company? Well, they do it by basically squeezing people...having this 30 percent tax on developers by getting you to buy more peripherals and things that plug into it,” Zuckerberg said. "They build stuff like AirPods, which are cool, but they’ve just thoroughly hamstrung the ability for anyone else to build something that can connect to the iPhone in the same way.”
There's one last tidbit: Zuckerberg said the Apple Vision Pro "did not hit it out of the park" for Apple despite acknowledging that it is "one of the bigger swings" Apple has taken in some time. Of course, Zuckerberg is coming at this from the perspective of someone who runs a company that makes competing headsets. Still, he's not entirely wrong — Apple has reportedly substantially slowed down Vision Pro production due to low demand.
That's about the extent of Zuckerberg's comments about Apple on Joe Rogan's podcast. For those of us old enough to remember NewsRadio or Fear Factor, that last part will never stop being weird.

Thin phones are back in fashion.
Apple is rumored to launch a thinner version of the iPhone, called the iPhone Air, in the fall. But China's Oppo is trying to steal some of Apple's thunder with the Oppo Find N5, which the company claims will be the world's thinnest foldable phone.
Oppo posted a teaser this week that indicated the Find N5 is indeed an extremely thin device, as it's significantly thinner than a common pencil.
Oppo's chief product officer, Pete Lau, shared the image of the device on Weibo (via GSMArena). Details are scarce, but the post does say that the phone is coming in February.
SEE ALSO: Every foldable iPhone and iPad rumor we've heard so farWhen it comes to regular smartphones, I'm not entirely convinced that thinner is better; a device that's too thin can be easier to damage (remember Bendgate?) and sometimes it's just easier to manage a phone that has a little heft in the hand. For foldables, however, thinner is better, as most foldable phones are still significantly heavier and thicker than regular devices. A foldable phone this thin feels like having your cake and eating it too — you get that extra screen real estate without sacrificing pocketability.
Right now, the thinnest foldable phone around is Honor Magic V3, which is only 4.35 millimetres thick when unfolded and 9.2 millimetres thick when folded, so expect Oppo's new phone to be a little thinner than that.
There's no official word on specs, but rumors say that the Oppo Find N5 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a triple, 50-megapixel rear camera system, and a 5,900mAh camera.
While the Oppo Find N5 will likely only be available in China, it's quite possible that Oppo's sister company OnePlus launches it as the OnePlus Open 2 — after all, that's exactly what Oppo did with the Oppo Find N3 and the OnePlus Open.
Luther Vandross was a once in a generation musical talent. A new documentary film is coming our way, honouring the star and chronicling his story. Luther: Never Too Much, directed and executive produced by award-winning filmmaker Dawn Porter, debuted at Sundance Film Festival last year and was aired on CNN on Sunday. Now, the film will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on Jan 30 for one night only, with a new trailer out today.
Vandross' hits include the timeless bangers "Never Too Much," "Dance with My Father," "Here and Now," "Power of Love/Love Power," to name just a few. Beginning his career as a back-up vocalist for the likes of David Bowie, Donna Summer, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Chaka Khan, Roberta Flack (to name just a few), Vandross sold 40 million records worldwide over the span of his career, along with 11 consecutive platinum albums.
Using archive footage of interviews with Vandross, who passed away in 2005, the film tells the singer's life story, with contributions from his close friends and collaborators, including Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack, Mariah Carey, and Valerie Simpson.
The film explores the successes and achievements that marked Vandross' Grammy-winning career, but in addition to the highs that marked his life, the film will explore the lows, including his struggle to earn the respect his music deserved, the discrimination he faced as a Black artist, the intrusive comments he endured about his weight, and struggles in his personal life.
Luther: Never Too Much will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on Jan 30. The film was released in the U.S. in 2024, and can be streamed via CNN on Hulu with Live TV.

Apple is preparing to launch three new Apple Watch models in 2025, but only one is getting a redesign.
This is according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman (via MacRumors), who laid out what he knows about the company's plans in the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter.
Reportedly, all three new models will launch in the second half of 2025 — likely during Apple's annual iPhone launch event, which typically takes place in September. The cheapest out of the three, Apple Watch SE, will have a "new look," while the Series 11 and Ultra 3 models will "probably stay roughly the same," said the report.
Previous rumors indicated that Apple might opt for a plastic casing for the Apple Watch SE, but there's no mention of that in this report.
As for the Apple Watch Series 11, it wouldn't be a big surprise if it stayed the same, given that it received a pretty big redesign last year, with a larger display and a thinner profile.
Should Apple Watch Ultra 3 stay the same, that would be a bit of a bummer, as that model hasn't really changed at all since the original launched in 2022.
SEE ALSO: I’ve tested my share of laptops, and this Apple M2 MacBook Air for under $800 is a stealThat might not matter, though, as the Ultra 3 will reportedly get some exciting new features, including satellite connectivity, and 5G RedCap network access. It also may finally be time for Apple to add high blood pressure detection to both the Ultra 3 and the Series 11.
